(Little) Things that annoy you in Pokémon

The discrepancy is the fact that it's near impossible to get a perfect read on their IV's if you're going for something like Hidden Power, or they're at a level where 30-31 is hard to narrow down via EV boosts, not to mention huge gaps between being able to check them in case of a reset for a bad nature or wrong IV's.

- Reshiram and Zekrom send you right into a battle with N that auto-saves before you get full control of your character again
- Xerneas and Yveltal force the battle with Lysandre
- Rayquaza has the Zinnia battle

And while there are other options, some other legendaries just have annoying gaps if you don't want to get them in post game
- Groudon and Kyogre have the 5 minute cutscene
- Even if you wait for Sky Pillar to reset Deoxys, you still have Rayquaza to go through.

While it makes things more cinematic, they really should give us a few seconds of gameplay to let us save before battling the Legendary and right after so we can check its stats and reset/save. Or just have the Legendary come with perfect IVs (its not going to matter, we can't use them in the Battle Maison anyway and even if they get horrible IVs they can curbstomp the Elite Four and Champion). Give us a chance to try and get them with good IVs or have them come battle-ready, otherwise you're just making things more difficult than they need to be.

I don't like how you get the cover legendary before the E4. I understand it's part of the story, but why not make it after? It seems too easy to allow everyone to use something that can usually easily sweep the E4 and champion... unless they want that. I think it could be possible the legendaries before the E4 are just to help kids who need that extra help to get through. And... that's kinda okay. But I still don't like it. I never use legenderies in gym and E4 fights, except for my first nuzlocke because I could.

I see it as a cool option. Plus, since most players would be happy with just seeing defeating the Champion as endgame they'd be unlikely to go on with it - it only makes sense to involve the cover legendary in the actual main story. If it's on the front of the cover it doesn't make sense to me to just shove it into the extra epilogue stuff.

Not far after though. I have this image in my head of finally, triumphant you have defeated the champion! Just as you're about to enter your team into the hall of fame... CRASH! Oh no! -Insert Legend- is angrehhhh! Better fight it!

And that was story time brought to you by HelenTheHero.

That's pretty much the reason; though thinking about it they could pull a BW2 and have the Legendary part of the story yet your unable to catch it until post game. Maybe if they introduce difficulty levels more intelligently they could have the Legendary be catchable on easy (to help the kiddies) but make it not catchable on the the higher difficulties to force players to rely on the Pokemon they've trained throughout the game.

To be honest, the difficulty "keys" from BW2 were excellent ideas, the only problem was that they didn't transfer over if you started a new save file, and were pretty much post-game only. I feel like reintroducing that, alongside allowing restarts with said keys would be an excellent idea.

"Oh, you beat the champion? Looking for something more? Here, take this:*gives key* you've earned it. This item is a great responsibility and can easily change your life*insert info about restarting and the extra difficulty* . Take care, however, for once you begin this journey, there is NO going back. All here will be lost, and you will begin again. Will you accept this challenge?" *insert Y/N* If yes, proceed with restart. If No, " This is fine, the key will be there with you if you desire it......"

But what if your and older fan and want to start out on the tougher difficulty?

The problem with the "Difficulty Keys" is that Pokemon isn't usually treated like a game you would restart over and over again. You're pretty much intended to keep your save file even after completing the story and continue training the Pokemon you have and battling either in the Battle Facility or online with other players (or wait for official tournaments). In addition Legendaries from events don't reappear if you restart the game, once you claim it on one save file its considered used.

I mean, technically Mega Diancie and Hoopa Unbound but yeah. Their whole gimmick is either having 100 across the board or since Deoxys doing something different with a 600 BST. And then Phione has 80 in all stats for a total of 480.
...
Why does Phione exist?
I object to this.

So this isn't a shitpost, I'm pretty sure VGC will now turn into Mega Rayquaza + POgre + PDon + filler teams, which is kind of saddening. I guess it will be cool to see if people use any creativity with their last three slots...?

You can only have two cover legends on your team, so you have to pick a Primal. That's probably Groudon, but who knows. And some people are probably going to use Golduck/Altaria for weather control not realizing you can just use Rayquaza + another mega.

Screw that. I'm not go through the hassle of transferring all the Pokémon I want to keep, and start over a game, just so that I can play it in difficulty mode! I want instant gratification!

I physically cannot deal with softresetting something like the Genies and having to land every time because GF has decided that whilst using the Eon Flute your party is now locked far far away from you and you can't see it until landing.

Synchronize leads having zero effect on mons being given to you bar Cosplaychu. They were great for severely reducing the hassle of SRing legendaries (50% is still better than none) and make the whole painful ritual tolerable instead of agonizing before O Powers were a thing. Had to reset countless Hoopas that would have been worth saving if not for the fact my chance of getting the ideal nature is now a sliver.

I hate how Wi-Fi battles look. I really hate that weird, Matrix/Tron stadium thing that we battle in. Especially as there are so many gorgeous locations in the game. Hell, for the fun of it, I'm battling the Rich Boy that you pass by when you are trying to hatch eggs at the Battle Resort, and the location is beautiful! Why can't we choose other locations like we can music? Why can't the default look better? Why can't it looks like Stadium?:

WHY?

EDIT: Just noticed that there must of been some hacking involved with the above screencap from Stadium as both Pokémon have a maximum HP of 999.

Admittedly, not the best quality screenshot you could have chosen; but yeah. Hell, since it is digital it's so easy to imagine that like... in 'canon' (I use the word very loosely) it's able to digitize different backgrounds. They're already there in the system data...

And maybe give a reason to use moves like Camouflage, Secret Power, and Nature Power...

HOLY MILTANK! Nature Power in space is Draco Meteor... and Sceptile can learn Nature Power...

#MakeNaturePowerMegaSceptileAThing

Oh, and it would also allow Diancie and Amaura family to use Power Gem if battling in Caves. :P

EDIT: And Secret Power would probably be banned in Snow/Ice fields since it'll have a 30% of Freeze, lol!

Cool as that sounds, it's difficult to imagine how Nintendo would then standardize it for VGC... it's not really fair if entire properties of moves can change every battle by allowing the playing field to change up or if only some of them are allowed by only allowing one playing field.

I only meant it as a cosmetic thing as is just on your side, similar to music (meaning if both players save the battle as a Battle Video, the backgrounds will be different unless they picked some background).

VGC will either use the same matrix field as they do now or maybe even switch up the battle field like they did in the anime for the Kanto League (and some of the Pokemon stage in Smash). However for official VGC I'd imagine most players will probably stick with more reliable strategies anyway.

In this case, I'm being a pragmatist since we would have to enforce a standard field in OU and you know we would. Also, I like the idea of each player having which ever background makes them the happiest since I love how you can do that with music.
