Design: I can see the shell cracking a bit more and the "gas cloud" becoming a light purple colour. its feet become a darker purple, with red stripes (instead of the grey.
Conclusion: Mega Torkoal has good all round defences. although it need a lot of points to buff its special defence to the same standard as its defence. The new typing gives it 1 - 4x weakness; which is negated by its ability, 3 - 2x weaknesses, 5 - 2x resistances and 3 - 4x resistances. this goes really well with its defences. However I still wanted it to have better defence than special defence for some strange reason. It's speed is low enough as is, so it doesn't hinder it to lower it more. and so I lowered its speed to give it some bonus special attack. Sludge Wave is for STAB and Recover to help it in its bulk, as recovery is the thing that Torkoal lacked.

It's best counter would be a Landorus, as Torkoal has a difficult time against its

typing. landorus can easily set up a swords dance whilst Torkoal struggles to do any damage to Landorus. all it takes from there is a few rock slides to knock it out.
Another great counter would be Excadrill. aside from its
weakness, it gets the Mold Breaker Earthquake. which can hit torkoal for a lot of damage.

New Moves: Forest's Curse
Design: The tree on its back loses its leaves and it's brown body turns into a dark grey. Its eyes turn a dark purple colour, and the white lines across its body look a bit more like bones
Conclusion: Mega Torterra has Average defences, and an okay type. with good coverage and a 140 base attack stat, it can be played offensively, with the Infiltrator ability allowing it to hit behind Subs and Reflect along good coverage. It can also be played in defence, with forest's curse messing up some of their pokemon and Curse now dealing damage over time. Torterra can also set up curses before mega evolving, which means that it can raise its already high attack and defence before digging away at the opponents health, and restoring its own with synthesis. Torterra Mega is very unpredictable and can be played many different ways.

A good counter to Torterra could be a Will-o-Wisp. as it cuts its attack, meaning that it has to go with the defensive moves until a team mate uses aromatherapy, or until it faints.

Carracosta - Mega
Ability: Solid Rock/Sturdy/Swift Swim -> Pinpoint (On switch-in, this Pokemon lowers the Defence and Special Defence of adjacent opponents by 1 stage(Intimidate clone))

Design: Carracosta loses its shell to reveal a sleek, ninja like body. its arms turn into razor sharp blades, and his feet become slimmer. its head looks streamlined. its eyes are sharper, with its right eye being blood red.
Conclusion: Carracosta can stay in its non mega form for a while, and use status moves to raise stats for its mega. From the second it megas, it becomes a pure attacker; getting a very strong STAB Waterfall and Close Combat. The only problem is the fact that it's extremely squish, and the fact that you usually have to play it a certain way; for that reason, it could be easy to counter. But if you can set up, the opponent will be feeling a world of pain

The main counter that I can see is Talonflame, as brave bird will shred Carracosta, unless carracosta is running aqua jet, which is kind of pointless thanks to its now 132 base speed.
