Timid Mew can try a set of Stealth Rock, Volt Change, Hypnosis, and some filler.
Why's Volt Change there?
Mewtwo probably outclasses Mew in offense.
I dont know, but another question: Do you even want to pass it, youll sweeper you pass the boost to will lost his STAB-Moves and change into a type you may dont even need, and you switch will have the same weaknesses as Mew and thats definitly not good to switch in.
Not to mention the XD tutors.Just a note:
In addition to its levelup movepool, it can learn every 3rd gen tutor move (Double Edge, Seismic Toss, Night Shade, Hypnosis, Dynamicpunch, Zap Cannon, and Fake Out and Mimic are the exlusives of this gen) and 4th gen tutor/tm move with no compatibility issues with any move or ability. I know tat this is rather obvious but all I'm saying is that the OP should post all of its moves (5th gen tms, 4th gen tms/tutors, 3rd gen tutors) because there are no compatibility issues.
Anyway, Mew's best purpose is as a baton passer; I'm not sure if it will stay Uber this gen, honestly.
No weaknesses? Mew's ability is Synchronize, not Levitate.Actually, think about it. The sweeper loses the boost to their usual STAB moves, but if you play your cards right, they would instead gain the boost to other ones of their moves- perhaps a typing they would enjoy more.
On another note about Mirror Type, if Mew were to snag an Electric type, it could be rather fearsome. A pokemon without a single weakness (outside of Gravity and... Knock Down, I think?), 100/100/100 defenses and 100 in both offensive stats and speed... is just a little scary.
Why is Mew uber again? I always found it quite easy to beat with Weavile.
In the other hand, Jirachi......
Smeargle is uber versatile, should we ban him? That's clearly not a reason to make it OU.
Mew is uber because of its incredible movepool + semi-uber stats. Other semi-ubers like Jirachi and Celebi are very good but Mew can be just everything.
I would like to test it in OU as Mew isn't uber powerful, but he will probably be banned because of its uber versatility.

Well yeah. So have Metagross and Jirachi, so has Scizor.Yet Salamence remained OU until nearly the end of gen 4
The thing with Scizor is that there were checks to him that were commonj. No matter what set was used there were pokemon on almost every team that could counter it. The reason being was because salamence only had four or so main sets and even then one set was WAY more used than others.Yet Salamence remained OU until nearly the end of gen 4

Difference between Mew and Salamence is that in one set, Salamence could threaten every OU pokemon. So you had to predict, if you switched in a steel type to eq/fire blast you were screwed, or switching anything non steel into draco meteor. Mew will never be able to pull this off because it lacks the stats and the typing. Honestly Mew may be unpredictable but it's still nowhere near as powerful as salamence. Even tyranitar is more potent than Mew. Tyranitar doesn't learn every move but he learns enough to threaten everything that can switch into it, hence why there are so many bait sets. While Mew could do this in theory, it will be less effective than Tyranitar at it. Sure it can run a coverage move of every type, and boost any stat plus 2, but it's typing and stats are inferior preventing it from being as effective. 4gen Mix Salamence could threaten every pokemon in one set. Mew will never be able to do that. In fact, as far as I could tell, Jirachi can pretty much do anything Mew can in terms of offensive sets but he does it with better typing a better ability. So if you want an unpredictable pokemon use Tyranitar or Jirachi. Not Mew.
Gen 4 standards for ubers no longer apply.mew ia right now uber for the same thing salamence was banned for in the 4th gen...unpredictability. this pokemon moveste is vast. it can learn swords dance and nasty plot. not only is it good for baton pass if it was OU its movepool makes it an amazing sweeper after 1 or 2 nasty plots/ swords dance. it basically checks every pokemon.
As far as we know, nothing is banned yet.i thought it all ready was banned. imma test this set in battling
