- Nine new music discs (11 in total, one "broken")
- Blaze powder
- Magma cream
- Glass bottle
- Spider eye and fermented spider eye
- Hardcore mode: game over when you die, hearts have new icons
- Golden apple now has a shining animation
- Pressure plates on top of fence posts now make sound when you walk on them or next to them
- Villagers has no names (No more TESTIFICATE)
- Holding the spacebar allows you to jump continuously again
- The enderman pearls now teleports you when thrown
- Endermen teleport to dodge arrows. Endermen teleport out of water when they touch it. Endermen teleport a lot more
- Item repair! Put two damaged items in the crafting grid (arrangement doesn't seem to matter)
- Feed passive mobs wheat to make them breed with each other
- Passive mobs follow you when wheat is selected
Crap. I though interm was permanent. there goes like 14 lapiz blocks and 30 iron blocks, not to mention 5 64 stacks of stone bricks.
Alrighty, so quick random question here...I'm getting ready to buy the game, but my question is, once bought to a profile, is the profile name the one that will be reflected in-game and online when you play as well? Or can you rename and such? Mainly I ask because I plan on offering to let family play as well since it is rather fun, but if you're stuck with only one name, would rather make a more generalized nickname than using one of my forum ones and such.
Oh and if you buy via paypal, it's not going to charge you any weird currency conversions will it? It looks like if you buy with say Visa, it offers the price in dollars, but if you select paypal, it switches to euros, which has me a tad skeptical.

from what i can tell you cannot change your name, its tied to your account forever unless you buy another. choose wisely.
its the same price no matter how you pay. paypal just automatically converts the cost after.
Question for the people who have been playing on the 1.8 server:
What did you think of the farming stuff I made, could they be bigger, smaller? I think the flower shed is fine, and things like the furnace could be bigger. I'm not sure if the wheat and melons were big enough since we had all those farms cropping (oh dear me) up. Did you feel there were enough melons/wheat to go around?
Because in a server with a small border we might as well just stick with one nice central community farm we can all share so more space can be for building rather than everyone having their own bloody farm. (I know this won't stop everyone)

i only used the community farm when i first came on and was still getting my shit together, so for that purpose alone it's useful. however it doesn't have to be big nor fancy since as people make their own houses farther off from spawn it is a hell of a lot easier just to have your own farm so you dont have to keep making trips back and forth.
also who is down to make a small apartment complex at spawn??? i feel like it would be a cool community type place until we finish working on the spawn area.
also: can we figure out how large we want the spawn town to be and set the border for placing blocks at that area? i feel like we need to force the development of this place if it's going to be anything like the plans, and we wont be able to build it nicely if everyone is off at x:33252352 building mega mansions right from the start.

Aww our little mountain biome community was going pretty well, with another 2 houses being built. asdf just managed to make a spider mob trap to serve the near total lack of wool on the map.
Still, 1.9 should be good. An apartment type deal would work well until everyone is up and going :)

Man, and I was having so much fun with our current server too. Aw well. I'll help in building the apartment complex. I guess it also goes without saying that we should also attempt to collaborate in providing a mass amount of tools for everyone. So save up your cobble and sticks so that we can provide tools to those who haven't found diamond or smelted iron tools yet. :P
Fairfax was a mighty way away. Well to be honest to everyone, i have a computer that would easily run a server, my only problem is my rents and shit poor and probs cant afford the power bill, and my internet is the definition of shithouse, but the thought is there people.
yeah just echoing this, my computer's just a -little- worse than wolf's and i already keep it on pretty much 24/7 so if you run into problems with server hosting i'll be willing to help
I actually used the farm a fair amount, because i just happened to like the watermelons and wheat so close to spawn. But even if we had a border the size of my thumb, it wouldn't stop some people from having their own farms.
And my thumb isn't incredibly big, it's about the size of a thumb, believe it or not.
On a different topic, since i liked the 1.8.1 interim map so much, could the map be posted in this thread?

Dude. I will totally be will to help out with the apartments. That sounds like an awesome idea. Although there IS one prob that I would like to mention. What about people that want bigger apartments? What if they want their's different from the others? We should come up with a good design for them before we build.
