1. get the smogcraft IP
2. get whitelisted

and make sure you follow the rules! don't go building a TNT house and destroying the Valley or anything >_<

Just wanted to know if I'm still whitelisted, I haven't touched up minecraft in ages due to busy lifestyle but I popped on ONLY ONCE after the inception of the minecraft thread/minecraft group

anyway... I was just posting in to ask about "The Rawpublic" - if I could speak to Rawbi (that's who owns it, right?) or even just find out whether he is commonly in that area or not, that would be great... I have a few plans that involve the area nearby (but not too nearby)

I'm thinking of bulding near "The Rawpublic" (at S Station) and wanted to ask permission.

It's going to be a big Project, but it won't be underway for a little while (besides the "safe tower" shown in the image here) - but I want to get all my "permits" in order before I start ripping up the terrain...
 
I'm not entirely sure I understand your question.

Do you mean Realm of the Burrowing Owl (RotBO)? There are technically two Rawbublics, but one is thousands of blocks away and abandoned, and the other one is now Latveria.

RotBO is the place with the moss-stone statue with the pumpkin torch and my funky star-shaped house.
 
So i finally sacked up and bought the game. All i can say is: wow. This is more incredible than the videos/pictures online portray it. Im currently attempting to home my crafting/building skills in pacifist single player mode before i go online and make an eyesore on the smogon server. I'll put up pictures when im done, currently i found a nice cave/mountain formation and im going to use that as a basis for a house, with a beach courtyard.

that's probably the abbandoned one, it's underneath a giant overhang, and there are 2 buildings, that's why I wasn't worried too much and started my planning anyway

oh, and S station is a junction point, either continue on to the valley, or switch lines to ... new venice? - either way, that line;s not complete :P

I would hope that the sky dimension (aether mod!) is going to have unique stuff when finished. I mean, if it's going to be the counterpart to the Nether, it has to!

1.6 is looking pretty hype <3

Oh, and thanks for the Latveria smogcast video! I recommend everyone to take a ride over and check out all the things not shown in the video. Who knows what you'll find locked away on the other side of that door...
 
I'm especially excited about the trapdoors. It's these little aesthetic innovations that make Minecraft updates so awesome :D.

The sky update is a bit anticlimatic. Aether is better.
 
I think it's good notch isn't taking the aether mod, it's a little too much to take in all at once as official. In the aether mod, there's like 4 new ores, "aether dirt", "aether wood", "aether torches", "aether anything".. it's overkill to be official. I'd like to see some ideas taken from the aether mod though, such as the whales and bird things.
 
I really hope that this sky dimension will have something different as well... At least it's not coming out in 1.6 now. However, there is something of interest coming out in 1.6 other than maps and trapdoors (which we know about). RG, you'll have another drug thing to add to your Venice garden!
 
wild grass is one of the few mods i thought of adding to my vanilla setup actually, so all good!

i'm also reassured to know that notch also thought the sky dimension looked ugly. i hope he can find a way to improve that!!
 
Agreed. That Sky Dimention appears to be Nothing special, just a death trap :P

If the Sky dimention could have objects not collectable anywhere else (like Netherrack, soul sand and Glowstone for the Nether) then it might be worthwhile actually going there, but until then it's not worth it...

Maybe something like Collectable Ice :p (at such High altitudes, the air is much colder sa water may become Instant Ice) or the only legal place for Web (it's possible) along with new Flying mobs may be an Idea...
