Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

Hello, Im new, or well I just registered... I have been lurking around this site for probably a year or two now... but I have recently worked up the courage(and time) to give the whole RNG abuse thing a whirl after reading and re-reading the posts as well as watching the vids.

Anyways, Im having a slight problem- Im currently just trying to hatch a shiny egg (no perfect IVs or even SRing for better ones) and everytime I follow the steps in torso boys vid (and on the first post) I get the PID Nature and gender listed in the results but the Pokemon isnt shiny? Any help would be appreciated... I know its probably something simple but again this is my 3rd Totodile this has happened with. Im using Diamond, have my SID and all that.

Edit: Dppt Egg is selected, both parents are from my own games and the Shiny Only box is checked.

I would really appreciate any help I could get on this

During Egg IV abuse, if my frame keeps alternating between 6 and 7, does that mean it's likely 6? I go really fast the whole time, but it keeps alternating. Should I continue on assuming it's 6, or should I save again and get a different frame?

I'm having a big problem could someone please shed some light on my situtation.
Ok, basically ive RNG abused many pokes previuosly with very little problem but lately im having the same reoccuring problem which is driving me mad!
Currently I am soft resetting on a Shiny Gastly egg, i have my calibration times sorted this is not the problem, i have a target frame which suits the supposed frame im saved on but heres the problem;
Everytime i work out my saved frame before recieving the egg from the old man its been very consistant and 5-10 tests all end up being 85%ish the same frame i figure the varied 15ish of frames are caused by the NPC's, next i proceed to soft reset for my target frame. Although everytime i soft reset and do the correct amount of journal flips (current frame-target frame/2 correct????) the frame i land on always decreases by 1. So reading through previous pages..... and relating similar problems to this before asking for advice, i re-saved and considered it may be just random NPC's off screen effecting this, although after many attempts at this, it still resulted in the target frame always decreasing by 1. Next, i decided to find a target frame on that decreased frame i seemed to be currently hitting proceeding to find a spread, soft reset and again the frame decreases by 1, i have tried over and over with this problem and keep recieving the same results could someone please advise me on what i may be doing wrong or how i can correct this problem.
Thanks in advance for any response.

Could someone please help me with this?

This happens to me to, or happened to me. I got 7 mostly so I stuck with 7, but when I finally hit my delay I landed on frame 6 >_>
But now I can start on frame 5 ^_^

Osirus, what section are you reading? I've done quite a few shiny hatchings and attempting to Iv abuse atm, I can't see where you got your info from =/

Argh, so frustrating =/. I hit my delay but it was the wrong second =[

my journel not popping up since i picked a spread that only one day after can i still pick a spread in frame 7 since the journel didnt pop up

Well... I FINALLY managed to IV abuse something okay.
It took me 3-4 hours on this but I'm reasonably happy and hope to get another one tomorrow.

I can't believe I missed the frame by 1... Gah =[. I'm gutted, but I think it's okay?

Yeah, I know it's not the best but it's my first one ^_^. Thanks to LF and yawg07 for all the help and answering my stupid questions. If I breed anything decent that you may want, just Pm me. You can have it for free ^_^

You forgot a part in the journal flips equation: Target frame - Current frame - Current number of runners (mesprit, cresselia, etc.) / 2

when hatching you do the frame calibration to take into account the roamers and moving npcs prior to doing the flips. so its (target frame - calibration frame/2)

Osirus is your target frame even or odd? does it match your calibration frame in that sense? When you do (target frame - calibration frame/2)you will need to get a whole number not x.5.

Make sure your parents are in your game, but not in the daycare when you're doing the taps or your egg will not have the PID you're looking for. That happened to me several times when I was trying to hatch a Jolly Sneasel.

Okay, I messed up my journal flips but I hit frame 3146 instead of 3166, the battle advances by 5 right? So I need to take one step(6), and then do 6 flips(18), then sweet scent and that would make me hit my frame? (I'm in the grass)

EDIT: Okay I messed up. Oh well.

I dont know if this is correct but whatever my calibration frame is i always match it with a target frame that will result in a multiple of two, correct? also i have not been taking into account my roaming cressilia, will this make any difference and should I include cress within the end calculation?

Question. I'm about to re-start Diamond, and I'm wondering how you abuse for your starter, or is this even possible?

You would have to save right in front of picking your pokemon, you need an AR or something to check the SID of the game, and it is method 1 I believe. Since it is the start of the game, there is nothing you can use to advance the frame, so your best and only chances are to pick a frame 1 shine / good spread.

You will want to make sure that your calibration frame are both either even or odd, it will make it a lot easier to get down.

The roaming poke doesn't need to be added into the equations since you are hatching it will be already be added to your frame as well as the people roaming that town by having done the frame calibration.

So I assuming the gastly is shiny and you are just soft reseting by the daycare man to get the ivs you want?

Ahh, yeah. I didn't even think about not having the journal or the poketch apps to check my seed and advance the frame. I think I'll just pass on all that, and wait to breed later on. Thanks LF

Would walking in the grass around the suitcase work? As it's Diamond he's restarting.

EDIT: Just realised that the rival took you through the grass, could that advance the frame?

Yes its shiny and with the correct nature, although this is my third re-save because of this problem, i am currently (supposidly) landing/collecting the egg on frame 5, I have a my target spread on frame 29 there for;

5-29/2= 12 journal flips, but whenever i do this and test the coin flips after collecting the egg the frame lowers by 1 to 28, and after a whole day of doing this i decided to just find a target on frame 28. So i proceeded with the exact same calucaltion as above (5-29/2) although this time targeting frame 28 as i thought it must have been me making a mistake when calculating my initial frame, either that or a random off screen NPC i hadn't accounted for but when checking the coin flips with the new target frame it had just reduced again by 1 to 27 and i have no idea why but its so fustrating.

and you sure you are hitting your delay? the coinflips won't tell you what frame you have it will just let you know if you hit your seed.
So within the time finder, when you have found your target frame & spread your looking for right click and find adjacent frames to you can see where your actually hitting, please correct me if im wrong by the way, so once you have collected the egg and opened the coin flip app, proceed straight away to flipping the coin 10 times and seeing if it matches your target spreads flips, this wont tell me the frame just correct seed??? it has the date/time/delay/frame along side the IV's before the coin flip though......i'm sorry about this im so confused now.

the flips will tell you if you hit the seed, but to check the frame you need to hatch that egg and match it to the Breeding (DPPt) method after you find what seed you hit.

if you are doing the journal flips right, you did the calibration phase right and your frame and target frame are both even or odd, then chances are you are missing your delay or time.
