Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

Uh you are sounding quite ignorant. Rayne Sylvan does not have the egg yet so it is not set. It is much easier and less time consuming if you are experienced with RNG abusing for IVs to hit a certain seed and be able to get the exact egg you want with a minimal amount of taps and flips, rather than resetting blindly for a spread that may cost you several minutes while you tap the happiness application 1000+ times.

Osirus, it seems like you aren't fully synched with your external clock, as your seconds are kind of spazzy.

All i am trying to say is you can reset for a specific seed on an egg but you do realise that when the old man is holding an egg the nature and shinyness ect.. is already set that can't be changed only the IV's after that can, it would be much easier and less time consuming in my own opinion to save in a spot where you can catch high level pokes to find an intial seed then from there, use the Dppt egg PID (normal) select the shiny box and do this until you get your target nature in a reasonable amount of taps/flips ect. I'm sorry if i sounded rude or ignorant i just thought this may have been the easier method, and if my explanation doesnt make that much sense then the video is a great guide.

uhh, no. While this is possible, it is much easier if you can hit a seed to do it the way he is doing it. He knows what to do, just made a mistake. Please, if you don't know what you're talking about then dont help.

Anyways, Here are the steps you should be doing:
  1. Set your DS Clock and try to hit your seed
  2. find the row with a bunch of T's and H's in RNG Reporter
  3. flip your coin 10 times. Every H in the row should be heads, every T should be tails. If they are correct, move on.
  4. Move on to do your taps. In your case its 6 coin flips and 16 happiness checker. You SHOULD be able to get your egg if everything was correct.

Are you doing the 10 Poketech taps?
Maybe you don't have the right number of pokemon in your party?

I start out with five when I catch the guy to confirm, like the guide says, and I do the taps immediately after confirming my seed. Should I be flying to Solaceon and setting up my party again before doing the taps?

And are there ten extra taps somewhere that I don't know about? I right click on the spread and click on "calculate Poketch taps" and it says 16 happiness taps and 6 coin flips, so that's what I should do, right? Am I missing something?

I think you're misunderstanding me. I'm resetting before there's an egg, and before my parents are in the daycare at all. I'm resetting to a specific seed so that those first few steps, where you check to see if you have a shiny PID, always result in the same Careful shiny egg. Do you understand better now?

EDIT:

Thanks, I think this is what I was missing.

so basically if i am synced correctly then this should solve the problem and this is why the delays/frames and everything are out of synch.

Could you explain to me how delays/frame/seconds being odd or even works as well please this has me quite confused.

and sorry i probably shouldnt be giving advice my knowledge of the RNG is quite obviously patchy so i apologies i wasjust trying to help.

Are you using ShinyFinder? Because it made the part where you set the egg's shiny/gender/nature/ability very quick for me.

EDIT: NVM, someone found the problem. You actually HAVE to flip-check for that process.

No, don't right click the spread!
The shinyfinder already takes the 10 flips you used to check your seed into account; that's why you're missing your spread all the time.

Maybe it is better to have 5 pokemons or less in your party, to save where are high pokemons lv 50 or higer. Then to do the celebration you always do for your coin flips but instead you catch that pokemons and check it stats or iv's in the seed finder. Then you can also know your delay and seconds ;)

I have also question for myself. When I use the timefinder for breeding I want a pokemon with hidden power elektric power 70. But I don't see wich hidden power the pokemon has ?

And sorry for my English, it is also not my best subject on schoolXD

Vaporeon, thank you for your help turns out i wasnt syncing correctly i checked out my windows clock and it is unable to sync online for some reason and it looked as though the seconds were dragging somewhat so i dug out an external clock stuck some batteries in and i have just landed sucessfully on my target frame after about 6 trys.

Shiny Gastly - Timid

Thank you

I think I could use some help.
http://tinypic.com/r/20ti494/3 I used these results and my time finder progress is about 75% done and I haven't found any frames.
Any reason why?

If it hasn't found any shiny spreads with the delay range you put in, then it means there aren't any spreads available in your game within that range.

A hint of advice if you're trying to find Method J/1 shiny spreads: use Wichu's program located here:

http://www.smogon.com/forums/showpost.php?p=1821884&postcount=2

Also take note that most flawless spreads have much higher delays than the one you used to search for. It's also quite possible that the spread you want just isn't in your game, due to your ID+SID combination.

Mingot you should include that the monster frame of honey tree pokemon is 2 and can be found shiny using method j. This was discovered by flash and video confirmation will be up in half an hour.

Question, if the frame I'm going for is 5 and I have one wondering pokemon( Keep in mind this is for wondercard) and every NPC advances RNG by 1 then I can't actually get frame 5, if there are more than 3 NPC's, correct?

@Sudo: It wasn't shiny spreads, it was for non-shiny legendary.
I'm new so I decided to start off nonshiny.

If you go to sandgem town, there is only 1 moving NPC. Turning is 1 and walking is 1 advancement for the RNG. Make sure you are looking at the wondercard list, not method 1 (unless it is manapy). It is possible.

hi i have been able to get shiny pokemon through the eggs with the help of the rng reporter.
But recently i have been attempting to use it to ecounter a shiny giratina in my platinum. I have read and re-read that section of the guide to have a reasonable understanding of it. I made sure that everything was exactly as the guide stated.
Once I am able to hit the exact time and delay, i make sure i flip the journal pages enough times.
But when i start the battle, giratina isn't shiny.

I immediately catch giratina with a masterball and input the nature lvl and stats etc, into the seed finder, but it comes out as the same seed and frame i was aiming to find. the only thing different is the nature.

I am not sure what to do, this has happened everytime.
Sorry if this is an excessively asked question.
Also i apologize if i am being vague.
Please i need help.
