Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

How do you search for a seed with a higher delay than 999? I've seen people do it before, but how? :/
I usually just go into the time finder and change the year. Like if I wanted to search for delay 1200 in 2009, I'd change the year to 2300 and make the delay 999. And wichu's pokerng program will search higher delays much faster, so I usually find my seed using that, plug into the seed to time to find the delay in 2009, then put into time finder and adjust the year to see the frames. Hope that makes some sort of sense.

I tried using it before but I don't know how.

I typed in the method but it came up with which type. (N for Normal, S for Split and B for Both).

When I pressed N for Normal, it didn't do anything. Why is that?

You should be typing 1 for anything that isn't breeding, and 0 for breeding. I don't know where you got that stuff from.

Okay, i'm having trouble with Wichu's program again.

I searched for a seed and it came up saying it was done, but no seed had come up. So I searched with the regular RNG reporter with the exact same options and in a matter of seconds, 5 already came up. And it had only searched less than 0.1 of the seeds.

So how come none came up on Wichu's program? :/

Chances are you entered something in wrong. Or sometimes for me the program stops showing the new spreads in csv and notepad and I have to close it and re-open it again to get it to start working again.

What are you writing in Wichu's programm, you might have made a slight mistake, also for the minimum delay, don't put 0 as for default, all you seed will be listed as zero, that and the spreads come in seprate from the program in a Notepad list.

I've done it 6 times, making sure its all correct. And still nothing comes up. Why is that?

You are entering in something wrong. For the frames part, put 0 for beginning and ending, as this part is for emerald frames, not max frame limit for a spread in dppt. If this isn't it, take a screen shot of everything you typed in and put it here.

Target frame - Actual frame - Steps advancement - Radar advancement - 6

I'm a little confused. I've tried doing this quite a few times and have only got it right once. So the -6 in this is for when I actually battle the pokemon I'm going for? And I don't need to include this for the pokemon I capture to get a chain of 1?

Anyone?

-6 is for after a battle with another pokemon, which you use to confirm your seed/check what frame you are on (actual frame). 5 is from the battle, 1 is for the monster frame of the next pokemon.

So you chain your target pokemon first, capturing it, then do the formula.

Lately, instead of calibrating my frames, I just go strait to the wanted time and date for RNG abuse, hit my delay and check the frame I got, if it pair or impair...then proceed to do the journal flips.

However because I got pair, I had to go to another date so the journal will pop out, save at a different NPC movement, then tried again...it was pair, I taught it was just bad luck but I did this a multiple of time and always a pair number.....so I tried to save at another location to make the daycare man move when I ask him for my egg.
...And I got an impair number!

So my question is ...does hitting a certain delay at a specific time, lock your frame to be impair or pair?

Also is it constant? I was having the same frame, after saving at a different mouvement over and over again...from what I remember, I might have missed something here.

After doing all your Happiness Application Double Taps you go and do your Coin Flip Taps correct? In my case its 2608 Double Taps and 6 Coin Flip Taps, now at the bottom it says Coin Flips for Seed H-T-T-T-H-T-T-T-T-T what do i do with those?

I have a question about Emerald. I was reading the new articles on how to breed IV's and I get that, but my question is about Abilities. How do you know if you get Ability 0 or Ability 1 in a Pokemon with one ability in Gen 3, but two abilities in Gen 4, i.e. Cleffa will hatch with Cute Charm no matter what in third gen, but how do you know it will change to Magic Guard when you Pal Park it and evolve it?

You don't.

It is worth noting that this is because we do not know the how the PIDs of a bred Pokémon are generated; if you know the PID of a wild Pokémon, you can determine whether or not its ability will change upon evolution (the old ability corresponds to 0, the new is 1). I have amended the Emerald guides to clarify abilities and the fourth generation.

You don't.

Is the new ability based on some hidden number like the PID, or is it just random? If it happens to be random could you just clone it in the 3rd gen game and send over several copies and take the one that turns out right?

oops^Answered! XD

Also, is there an Emerald RNG guide like this awesome 4th gen one?

I actually have a variance on this question. Since the reason I am asking is that I would like to teach Double-Edge to a Clefable and you can only do that once per game. Can I clone the hatched egg, Pal-Park it, evolve it, and then if it gets Magic Guard teach the original Clefairy Double-Edge in Gen 3, then Pal-Park that one because the Clefairy has a set PID, or is the Ability in 3rd Gen not linked to the PID?
