Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

yeah that's about the only way to get it to move over the move tutor moves and have it get the new ability

The PID will determine if Cute Charm will change to Magic Guard

I actually have a variance on this question. Since the reason I am asking is that I would like to teach Double-Edge to a Clefable and you can only do that once per game. Can I clone the hatched egg, Pal-Park it, evolve it, and then if it gets Magic Guard teach the original Clefairy Double-Edge in Gen 3, then Pal-Park that one because the Clefairy has a set PID, or is the Ability in 3rd Gen not linked to the PID?
I'm pretty sure it will have the same ability every time, no matter how many times you clone it.

Is the new ability based on some hidden number like the PID, or is it just random? If it happens to be random could you just clone it in the 3rd gen game and send over several copies and take the one that turns out right?

oops^Answered! XD

Also, is there an Emerald RNG guide like this awesome 4th gen one?

Yes, and they are amazing and will be onsite soon.

Don't ask "help" questions on any of the threads in that forum.

After doing the Happyness Checker Taps, it says to do the Coin Flip Taps 6 Times does it matter what it lands on? And then after the Coin Flip i go and Put my pokes in the daycare for a shiny egg correct?

If the flips needed to land on something in particular, I think that would be in the directions.

I was just asking around about RNG, and found out it was actually possible to achieve your SID using chained shinies. I searched the Smogon Community for information, but all I could achieve was 'This is possible using "Chain to SID",' but it held no further information.

Please advise, I appreciate it.

Take shiny Pokemon you obtained from chaining, and enter their relevant data into the Chain to SID function of RNG Reporter. It's that simple.

At the bottom of the RNG reporter it says Coin Flip for Seed H-T-H-T-H-T-H-T-H-T do you have to do them when breeding a shiny egg?

RNG Reporter has a lot of features. This one, is not covered in the shiny egg hatching because it is not needed for shiny egg hatching. Please READ the directions. They literally have *everything* you need to do. If the guide does not say to do it, then you do NOT have to do it.

Ok?

yes, sorry but i have read the directions twice and did it twice and neither times was my egg shiny, so i just figured i either skipped something or counted wrong each time

I'm still having trouble hitting the right delay with Emloop. My target delay is 715, and my usual delay is 611. Instead of 104 in the Frames box, I've steadily taken it all the way down to 80. Here's what I've gotten there:

717
711
709
723
725
721
725

Does anyone have any suggestions for what I should change the number in the Frames box to? Sorry, but this is my first time doing this, and it's a bit frustrating. Thanks!

EDIT: Hit my delay! Now let's just hope I advance the 1000+ frames properly!

Usually, getting the delay you need to hit depends on how lucky you are to press A on the fraction of a second necessary for the target. If those delays were all gotten from hitting a consistent seconds, then I say you're right in the immediate ballpark. Just keep doing the process of soft-reseting and timing and you'll get it soon enough.

Well, this says all generation so I guess I can ask this here. :)

I want to RNG a good 0spd Brave Snorlax and 0spd Quiet Wailord and tutor Self Destruct onto them for a TR/RD team i want to try. I've got 2 save files on XD (2 mem cards, 2 playthroughs), and my cousin is loaning me his Emerald for a while this weekend, and I'm certain I can breed the parent's quickly since it looks like I only need1 with a 0 in it's speed and another with 2, 30s or 31s which isn't hard. Also, I've got the proper species parents and Flame body poke all lined out on another cart I can trade to, so I think I've got it all in order and ready to go.

I've got DPPt RNG down pat, but I've never tried Emerald RNG before, let alone Egg RNG. Mingnot pointed me to this great guide here, and I read it and think I understand it, but just to confirm I would like to ask just one noob question before I start.

With Emerald RNG, you don't have to hit a seed, but the frame just advances at about 60 frames per second, so to hit this spread...
45573 12:39.55 30 31 A A 30 B Mixed HP Bug 70
I would have to...
1)SR with the proper egg in front of the daycare man and immidiately hit my timer
2)advance to the line where he says "Take good care of it,"
3)hang out right there until exactly 12:39.55
4)Immidiately mash A and collect and verify/see how far off I was and adjust

Is this "basically" right?

Thank you all so much for your consideration. :)

You need to start the timer when you start the SR (not when you press "continue"). If that's what you meant, then that's all good. Even if you don't hit your time as exactly as you imply on the first try, it still makes sense to check your frame and adjust anyway.

Also, you might want to use 15117 31/B/A/21/31/A for your Snorlax if you don't care about its SpA (+1 HP and SpD and less wait), and 34417 30/A/31/B/A/0 for your Wailord (+1 SpD and less wait).

Exelent! :D

And I really appreciate the easier spreads! Where did you find them? I just found some easy ones in the ones listed in that link.

Oh, and how many seconds is that 2nd one you listed? the 34417 one?

[edit]
by "seconds" I meant, minutes, seconds, mili...

RNG Reporter has an Emerald Breeding mode. Just make sure you leave the seed blank when you want to work with Emerald.

The 34417 one has a wait time of approximately 9:33.61.

Oh! Ha! That wonderful RNG Reporter! What CAN'T it do?! XD
(save your soul, but I bet he's working on a patch for that!)

Sokay -- make sure you are following all of the steps exactly, especially with regards to how many pokemon are in your party, when you switch to what application etc. Also check your parents. Are they international? If so, did you select that option?

If international, an incorrect SID/ID entry also causes you to get a different nature than expected.

No there not international parents, my ID is correct, The Giratina-Man checked my SID, and I have 5 pokemon in my party and then six when i catch the Level 50 pokemon. And i have the APP set on the Itemfinder because it says do not leave it on the Happiness checker and when i found an amount of taps i like i switch to the Happiness APP and when im finished with that i then do my coin flips, and then fly to solaceon and put my parents ( EE's Adamant Ditto ) ( Aerial's Altaria ) and then wait for an egg. And i just did it for the third time and it wasnt shiny...
EDIT: Thanks for the help

All of that sounds correct.

If those are not international parents it really sounds like you are not doing the flips and jumps incorrectly.

You could always uncheck shiny only and then collect/hatch about 5 eggs to match the sequence of natures, though, and find out for sure what happened.

Yea thats the only thing i think i have done wrong is the number of taps, or the time like it is refering to the DS's time correct?
like my DS's time/date is 10/02 23:46 and i enter those into the RNG reporter... Im going to try again one more time and if it doesnt work ill try what you suggested

so im not seeing any adjacent spreads that match when i collect my egg. does this mean i did something wrong in the whole process or am i just not hitting the delay? Also i know for the journal flips if it says you caught a pokemon it counts as one flip, but does that have to be at the bottom of the page or can it be anywhere on it?

I'm having a bit of a problem. I'm using AR while trying to RNG Breed to save the hassle of having to walk for so long for steps, etc.... Is anyone able to reset while having AR in their DS to hit their seed? I can't for some reason.
Also, I try to wait for the time to come while in AR, and it seems that time slows down in AR or it doesn't move at some point, so I end up behind on my seed. How can I fix this?
