Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

I can't get my seed verified. I'm in Soul Silver. Synched my clock to make sure I have the right time, triple checked that I'm inputting everything correctly into the RNG Reporter. The Elm responses never match! I've already caught all roamers and there are no NPCs where I am (Cerulean Cave). Can anyone help?

catch a pokemon, check its IVs, input the information into RNG reporter's seed finder and see what seed you are hitting, when in doubt do this to verify. If you can fins one at a level 50+ you can try the seed verifier using the pokemon's stats.

I've been using the stats from level 47 pokemon I catch in Cerulean Cave. I get a seed id, but it after I get the seed and then check elm's responses, they don't match.

well which set of elm responses are you looking at? battling a wild pokemon will advance your frames so you can't look at the first 10 elm responses and expect them to match.

Ahhh thank you. The guides weren't clear to me to check elm's responses before catching the pokemon to get the seed. Thanks!

Than what does this mean?:
PID: a65e9996 (IMPISH, ability 0) 31/31/31/0/31/1 (Seed: 4d0b0274 Method 1: 8161, J (synch): 8142, J (no synch): 8142, K (synch): 8142, K (no synch): None) HP ELECTRIC 54

(Or is this a generation 4 spread? I saw the "method 1" part and disided it was for generation 3.) (( I'm using that "Wichu's RNG" thing. It says that it will work for generation 3 AND 4, but it doesn't specify what spreads are for what generations))

I chose a seed for a timid female baby, aiming to have a female squirtle. It hatched male. Anyone know why a seed which says it will hatch a female might not hatch a female?

thanks!

so you just change the station to oaks channel then drag it back to the center? and how many frames does that adavance it by ?=/
yeah. It advances 14-18 frames. I know this is inconsistent but you can still keep track of your frames by utilizing elm calls as well.

@above: yeah, you've pretty much got it right. the first timer tells you when to SR, press start on the AR, press A on the startup screen or whatever, then the second tells you when to press A on the continue screen. The box underneath is where you out a delay if you're consistnetly hitting a different delay to your target, or if you're hitting a group of delays very far removed from your target.

And yes, once in game you just continue as normal.

Hope I've helped.

Yes, thank you very much.

Ugh. I spent three hours trying to figure this out and didn't get it to work.

I hit the time every reset, but I had to reset lots of times to hit the delay correctly. The first time I hit the delay, I forgot to advance the frame and had to start over.

The second time I hit the delay, which was just now, I hatched exactly what I wanted except that it wasn't shiny!! I wanted a modest male and got one, but it was not shiny.

I followed the directions precisely from this page. The only thing I can think of that might be the problem is that my SID is wrong, but if it was, how did I end up with a modest male?

I got my SID from leveling my Red Gyrados from the Lake of Rage and recording the stats at this IV calculator page, then inputting the IVs into the RNG Reporter.

I've RNG'd for Bulbasaur twice so far trying to hit frame 163. The first time, I stopped at 162 assuming it to have a frame of 1 like what was said on the 1st page. Instead of hitting the frame I wanted, it hit a spread at frame 167.

The second time I tried it, I made a math error initially thinking it had a frame of 4 (I guess because I was taking my target frame into account when subtracting the difference instead of the frame I stopped at), so I stopped at 159 and ended up hitting 164.

Anyone else had something similar happen to them?

So, if I understand correctly, this is the quickest way in HG/SS to advance my frame in a location where there are no wild Pokémon, right?

  1. Load the game with the radio detuned.
  2. Tune it to Pokémon Search Party or Silver Drama (assuming one of these stations is available) by pressing the bottom-right button on the touch screen (frame increases by 1).
  3. Give the D-pad a brief and slight press to where the station continues to play but with gibberish text; this counts as detuning it.
  4. Push the bottom-right button again, returning the radio to that same station but with full reception strength (no gibberish text); this counts as tuning it (frame increases by 1).
  5. Repeat steps 3-4 as often as needed.

Please let me know!

When use Seeds to Times finder, i got a seed from the smogon downloads (for RNGing a caught pokemon) but was wondering, how do you tell what frame you need??

So, I'm breeding for ivs and when get all 3 roamers in the right postion, to show I hit the right delay, my Elm calls are different than they should be.

Edit: I just checked a different delay and the Elm calls for that were wrong also, any help?

I never thought of trying this before but I don't see why it wouldn't work.

If I use the RNG reporters Time Finder (Capture) to find a combination of IVs/nature for a captured pokemon and then edit the IVs/PID in Pokesav would the resulting pokemon pass all legit checks?

Since the RNG reporters PID/IV combinations are generated by a copy of the games PRNG I don't see why it wouldn't work but I thought I would ask anyway.
