Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

Also, Riski, do you have any guide for catching pokemon in the wild with RNG in HG SS? XD Your guide did me a lot of good for breeding.
I only have guides for standing legendaries at the moment. I'm just now learning to catch wild pokes, so a guide will not be forthcoming until I've caught a few pokes first.

How do I know for sure I did it correctly? (to get a shiny egg)
You'll know because of your Elm calls. It's in the guide, which as step by step as I could make it. So read it while you do the steps. It's easier to understand if you are actually doing the RNG at the same time, because then you see what I mean.

Hi, I was just wondering how trophy garden abuse works. As I understand it, ever time you enter the game there is a new trophy pokemon. The current trophy pokemon appears on frame 6, and the previous one appears on frame 7. Does this mean that I must hit my SEED, then talk to the owner of the mansion to determine what the pokémon is, then abuse for it? I'd just like some clarification before I go ahead and start trying to hit my seed, etc, etc.

This is not correct. A new trophy garden will only appear when the date switches from 23:59 to 00:00. From this, you would first SR for the trophy garden pokemon then switch to your target date and proceed. Switching to your target date will not change the trophy garden pokemon.

Hey guys, fairly simple question (I hope).

So I wanted to try to hatch a few shiny eggs and I'm using a smeargle I caught to get my SID. The problem is: I caught this shiny while I was using the pokeradar, but it didn't come from a shiny patch, it was just a pokeradar-exclusive pokemon that I found in rustling grass. Does this mean I cannot use this Smeargle (on Pearl) as a viable candidate? I read that it doesn't count and it CAN be used, but I ask this because when I entered the IVs to get the PID, it returned 2 results but only for methods 2/3, and 4th gen. games are Method 1 as I saw.

I suspect my issue comes from how I caught the pokemon, but it's truly not pokeradar because it wasn't from a shiny patch, simply rustling grass.

ya, your right. and i feel sorry for you because it wasn't even enough to narrow your sid down. if you want i can easily find it for you. just gimme your fc.

I have RNG reporter 8.30 ... okay so.. I catch some pokemon that have a characteristic that isn't listed in the seed finder... does that mean it doesn't effect it and I should leave it as "NONE" or what?

Right, not sure I entirely get this. So, I can save in front of Red Gyarados and repeatedly catch then SR to get my SiD, right? But I won't be able to make sure that it's correct until I beat the E4? Because I need to visit Kanto and Pal Park my Pokerus infected pokemon from Emerald to verify, correct?

So, if I defeat the Red Gyarados after catching and SRing a few times I can catch it after the E4 and repeat the process to get it again if I made a mistake?

OK so I RNG-ed for an ID/SID to hit a good shiny spread (I used OmegaDonut's example on the first page of this thread), but I'm getting a different SID result when I use the Red Gyarados method to find my SID

This is the info for when I RNG-ed for my ID/SID
PID: ec963d8f
ID/SID: 62266/08740
Seed: 540c15bb
Delay: 5553
Date/Time: 06/02/10 12:42:30

Notice how my SID is supposed to be 08740, according to RNG reporter.

But when I used the Red Gyarados method to verify my SID (just to be on the safe side), I consistently got results telling me my SID is 08736...notice how it's slightly off by 4...

What's going on here? Did I hit the correct ID but the wrong SID when I RNG abused for my ID/SID or is the Red Gyarados method giving me the wrong info? Help please!

Your SID is correct :

The actual Secret ID will be in the range of the number this method produces (n) and n+7. For example, if the method results in 10000 as the Secret ID the actual Secret ID is some number between 10000 and 10007.

I don't see what is your problem ?
You get your SID by "chaining" Gyarados, then you just leave him be ?
Why would you want to faint it ?

If you want to verify your SID there is no need for ELM calls (kanto and pokerus), just find a low shiny frame (2 for example, sweet scent in grass as soon as you enter the game) and try and hit your sid and get it to verify

Okay, so I don't really know how to hit the target time and delay, how can I do this, and I still don't get the Min/Max Delay.

Two persons explained Min/Max Delay to me, and I thought I already got it because I thought it was easy. ^^' But when I tried again today I saw a 31/31/31/31/31/31 IV Spread, but when I tried to get that spread, I failed. D=

Can anybody give me a countdown timer download link and explain me about hitting the Target time and Delay and Min/Max Delay in the Egg IVs please?

You need to capture/defeat The Red Gyarados to progress further through the game.

I'll still be able to catch/SR it after the E4? As in, it's nature and IVs aren't going to be locked in once I've battled it, right?

Ok, now I have a somewhat unusual question.
I have a HP Grass Modest Shiny spread on my Heart Gold and my heart was broken when I realised that Magnet Pull is Magnezone's ability 0 when my spread has ability 1. Magnezone is not the reason I RNG abused for that SID/ID combination though but I'd really enjoy to get one.
Then, I had a wonderfully terrifying idea: You can get shinies that wouldn't otherwise be shinies through the Pokéradar abuse right? What if you try to RNG one of those? I do realize this would have to be a spread in a really high frame and you'd have to count every single step and keep track of the RNG advancement produced by every battle but would it be possible?
I'm inclined to try that on my Platinum but I dunno if that's possible. Would the Pokémon have the spread and nature of that frame or would the shininess mess up with that?

Oh, and please I don't want answers like: "it's impossible because you have lots of work to hit your seed just for the chain to break before you get a shiny, etc..."
That makes it hard, I realize that, but what I want to know is if it's possible.

With the journal flip in DPPT, should I just flip to the page where it says "Caught Pokemon", and from there press start to proceed to the game, or should I flip past the caught Pokemon page?

Flip to the page if you only want to advance the RNG by 2. If you flip past the page and the next page doesn't have a message of a "caught Pokémon", then it doesn't make any different but if the next page also has a message like that one, you advance the RNG one more time 2+2=4 - 4 advancements.
So, yeah, it's to the page.
