Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

I adjusted it, and promptly hit 20:06:54 and then 20:06:46. What could have gone so drastically wrong? I'm about 95% sure it's not me...

I'm not sure if this question goes here, or not, but I FINALLY got a working version of the RNG Reporter on my PC up and running, but I have absolutely NO CLUE what to do with it. Anyone interested in helping learn how to RNG?

Skippy: Have you tried looking at the youtube videos posted by either bearsfan or SparkTEHFuze? They're insanely helpful and is done step by step on RNG reporter.

Basically, for breeding, seed finder is used to help you get nature/gender/ability and to determine your starting frame.

Time Finder is used to get shininess (if you want to go the easy route - seed finder can also give shininess but you'll be tapping like crazy) and to determine IV (soft reset part). The main page is used in conjuncture with seed finder mostly.

I'll have a look at them. I really did like just ten minutes ago figure out that the reportes is working on my computer. I don't even have my SID yet (I think that's the first thing I need to know).

Unless you're doing shininess, I don't think it matters. Regardless, it wouldn't hurt to have it though and will only benefit you. Good luck :)

Question. I figured I would give this RNG a whirl, to see how it works and if I can do(Because I am bored, to be honest). So I am wondering, how do I find my SID?

The easiest way is to catch a pokemon and ask someone on here (simple question thread) to find it for you - thegiratinaman is generally helpful here from what I see. If you have an AR, you can do this yourself.

Yes, as far as I'm aware, that's correct. You don't have to literally catch a pokemon since I'm sure there are pokemon with your OT in your box, XD. Just make sure it's your OT is all.

Also, if you plan on RNG without an AR, make sure you have a healthy supply of rare candies.

@Samster: Yes, most will work very well since they are usually level 45-50 and up, so the Seed Finder should be able to use the stats to find the information you need.

I have a question about the journal flips. I have a save frame of 8 and a time frame of 12. So I have to flip to my journal page twice. Problem is, even though my first journal page that shows has a caught pokemon, the next journal page that has a caught pokemon is about 3 pages away. So am I doing this correctly? :

- Journal is opened, the first page has a caught pokemon. I advance 2 frames (I'm currently at 10)
- Press A. Next Journal page has no caught/defeated pokemon
- Press A. Next journal page has no caught/defeated pokemon
- Press A. Journal page has a caught pokemon. I have advanced 2 frames again (I'm at 12)
- You can now press START

Hopefully I get an immediate answer.

Correct Nevada, but you don't even have to do that.

-Journal is open to a caught pokemon - 10
-flip to the next page - nothing
-flip back to the first page - 12
-press start and mash A to get your egg

Shady: Which part of RNG are we doing? You normally record the time in which you hit continue.

You can enter any parent in daycare. It doesn't matter - just make sure you have it checked international if one of the parents are international, lol.

As for getting the shiny egg. There are two ways to do it:
Seed Finder method (doing upwards of 300taps): In which you need an external clock synchronized with your DS so you record the time you enter into the game (ie the time you have when you hit continue)

Time Finder Shiny Egg method: This is very similar to actually getting IV. You hit your delay and time and you check with coinflip. The time you enter in your DS is the time that it outputs for you upon generating a search (remember the one minute subtraction here).

For breeding? Definitely not. It might help you to get random encounters faster while checking to see what your save frame is, but *shrugs* I've never used it.

EDIT: Seems like the great HCZ beat me to it, XD.

Thanks, I also want to know is it possible for the egg to match your seed (the ivs you want) but the coin flip sequence doesn't match the coin flip sequence of your seed on the time finder? Even if I may get the coin flip sequence incorrect, I feel sometimes I should still hatch the egg just in case

I'm trying to catch a flawless Timid Mewtwo with the seed D2140289, and it says: Frame 87 Actual 114. Does this mean the spread is on frame 87 or is it 114?
This is all kind of confusing for me...

the spread you want is on frame 87 ignore the actual frame for method k pokes like mewtwo.

Not really - I've never come across this problem. The coin flip will match if you hit that specific spread.

You should always hatch the egg to check though (imo). The reason for this is to at least verify your adjacent results to see what you actually hit. For example, if your wanted delay is 612 and you keep hitting 608 or something, then it's probably an indication that you should switch your min/max delay to that result or adjust pikatimer. A similar example can be said of for frames as well.

Yeah, but I don't have an AR so that's quite lengthy. Can I possibly mash A before any NPCS moves, go fly to an area with high level pokemon, input the time i got into the game with the seed finder under method 1 (a separate rng reporter opened in other words), enter its stats to see what delay I entered the game? Or I have to do it your way in that I should hatch my egg as if I were trying to find its save frame?

edit: Also, this is a separate question, but during the calibration phase I kept getting 28-29 normal seconds despite the fact that, according to my timer, it took me about 15-16 seconds to enter the game from my soft reset. Is that normal?
