Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

Yeah, but I don't have an AR so that's quite lengthy. Can I possibly mash A before any NPCS moves, go fly to an area with high level pokemon, input the time i got into the game with the seed finder under method 1 (a separate rng reporter opened in other words), enter its stats to see what delay I entered the game? Or I have to do it your way in that I should hatch my egg as if I were trying to find its save frame?

edit: Also, this is a separate question, but during the calibration phase I kept getting 28-29 normal seconds despite the fact that, according to my timer, it took me about 15-16 seconds to enter the game from my soft reset. Is that normal?

You don't need an AR to verify the Eggs IVs.
Hatch the egg.
Input the species, nature, characteristic and stats for Lv. 1 on MetalKids IV Calculator.
Give an exp. Share to the just hatched poke.
Go to an area with high level pokemon and defeat one.
As the hatched poke levels up thanks to the exp. share, input the now stat (not the stat change, not the +2, the whole new stat number).
The leveling-up will stop around level 6-7, calculate the IVs.
Use the possible IVs given by metalkid's calculator to filter your RNGreporter results.
If you did everything right, RNG reporter will tell you that either you get your egg on the right frame, or on other frames above 100 - which would be impossible.
Use a berry to wipe the EVs gained in the battle via Exp. Share.

Thanks for the explanation dude but I wasn't talking about how to know if my egg was on the right frame. I'm talking about how to know if I am on the right delay without hatching the egg, but rather make sure no npcs moves, fly to an area with high level pokes, and catch them to see my delay. Unless by that answer you are implying that that is not possible

edit: also, anyone can anyone help answer my question?

@nevada11: Yes, the "seconds" value is the seconds on the DS clock when you select "Continue." It's only going to be equal to the amount of seconds it takes to get there if you SR when the DS clock is on xx:xx:00 (immediately after the DS clock rolls over to a new minute).

A question of my own: I recall some people saying awhile back that the "check seed via roamer" method is unreliable when you have less than all 3 roamers out... is this true? I'm playing SS and going after a Lugia on frame 3, so I can't use the phone to verify my seed.

The delay won't change because of the NPCs. The delay was fixed the moment you entered the game world. You can spend 3 days with the game on, the delay will still be the same since the moment you pressed A on the continue screen. you can verify it. by doing the coin flips. The coin flip sequence is not altered by the NPC movement.

OK, thank you. So I guess I can do whatever I want to find the delay I currently am on (even though i'm a stubborn bastard that refuses to put his trust only into the coin flip sequence.)

@misdreavus: Then why do you think the RNG reporter kept giving me 28-29 second range, when looking at my clock I KNOW I consistently kept getting 14-15? Do you think it could have a negative effect on the stage I currently am on (soft resetting/setting time & minutes stage)

The roamer method does not tell you if you got the second right.

Lets say you want delay 780, second 50 and you have Raikou and Entei out and they are supposed to be on routes 38 & 39 respectively. However, they will be on those very same routes for second 48 delay 780, second 49 delay 780, second 51 delay 780, second 52 delay 780, etc....

I'm trying to find a shiny timid or jolly (or even Hasty/Naive) Cresselia spread but can't seem to come up with anything that has at least 29+ in HP def SpD with a must 31 in speed..

my ID is 57046 and my SID is 35309.. is it just impossible to get something like this or what?

Search for it with pokeRNG and ask for an infinite delay search, by putting 0 in the min and max delays.

This is only if I have less than 3 roamers out; if I have all 3 out, they'll also tell me if I've hit the proper second, right?

Assuming I verify my seed several times by catching Pokémon and am consistently hitting my target second, having just Raikou and Entei out will still tell me if I hit the right delay, correct?

I dunno if having the three roamers will make a difference. BUt RNG reporter can tell you that. All you need to do is ask for +/-0 delays and +/- 2 or 3 seconds and see if the routes match for same the delay but different seconds.

I read multiple times that you should kill the roamers before any RNG attempt in HGSS, however I regretted it immensely when I had to find out If I hit the right seed for Ho-oh (on frame 3) by catching said Ho-oh.

My brother, on the other hand, verified his delay for Lugia using his roamers. Since he used pikatimer, we were sure he got the seconds right, all he needed to verify was his delay - which he did using his roamers. His Lugia spread was on frame 3 so, thanks to the roamers, he didn't need to advance any frames at all, just walk up to Lugia and throw the masterball.

I take it he used the Bold 31/14/31/31/31/31 spread (frame 3 with Synchronize)? That's exactly what I'm after!

Umm, a little bit of help here?

I have no idea what happened; I was supposed to have captured an Adamant Groudon but instead, I ended getting a rash one. The frame I was supposed to hit was 10; so I knew that Groudon's Monster Frame was one so I called Elm 9 Times to confirm that I had hit my seed; all of the calls matched up exactly; could it have been the last call that messed up the RNG Abuse? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The Rash frame probably comes right after the Adamant one; I'm new at this but I'm pretty sure you should've called Elm 8 times instead of 9.

8 Times? I'm not sure how it could be 8; could you clarify? If Groudon has a Monster Frame of 1, and I called Elm 9 Times, shouldn't I be on Frame 10?

Don't take my word for it, as I'm trying to RNG my first thing right now. Check RNG Reporter anyway though, I'm pretty sure your last Elm call is supposed to be the frame before you interact with the pokemon.

*Stares at post with absolute Frustration*

(After Recovering from Shock) Thanks a Lot man ... No wonder I got a Rash Nature ...

That's ok. About a month ago I was getting mesprit's frame wrong because I forgot her monster frame was 5 and not 1. C=

No, the IVs of the egg is determined the time you picked it up from the old man.

As for IV abusing for the egg - it's the same way as when you're RNG-ing for the Shiny Egg (unless you're doing it the long tap method and not using the Shiny egg finder tab). In any case, the front page has a link to a read article on how to IV abuse the egg(DPPT), Riski's thread has a guide on how to IV eggs(DPPT and HGSS), and bearsfan and SparkTEHFuze has youtube videos(DPPT) on how to do it. I don't know which one is the fastest...I guess it all depends on how you learn.

Ok, so I finally managed to hit my seed. My frame is 87 (Timid Mewtwo, all 31s) and I'm on frame 86. Do I talk to Mewtwo, or call one more time?

Also, I just opened a new RNG Reporter window to track my frame. My frame isn't on 87 anymore, and instead it's on 114. Earlier, RNG Reporter said Frame 87 Actual 114. Which is correct?
