Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

For the DPPt Egg PID, when it lists the natures, there are ones in black and ones in grey. I'm guessing one of them means the nature will be different if the mother holds an everstone. Is this guess right, and if so which color would be overridden by an everstone?

Yeah, in HGSS, you always advance to one frame before your wanted egg and pick up the egg on the exact frame. Or you advance to two before, reject an egg and take the last.

When getting a shiny egg, I just pick frame 1, because I can hit my seed and then just save in front of the daycare man when he has an egg for me.
Then I pick a seed for IVs, going for frame 10-15. If I get what I want, flawless on frame 10, then I just call Elm, clicking the boxes on "Search Elm." There's nine, so once I finish those, if I've hit my seed, I just talk to the daycare man and get a flawless shiny.
Following these steps, I have literally never gotten an egg non-shiny or with the wrong IVs.

A Platinum breeding question:

I've been trying for a while now to RNG this brave male Ralts i have to these IVs, using this seed:

Seed: 8602025C
IVs: A / A / B / 10 / 31 / 2

But whenever I try and hit this seed, the stupid cowgirl always moves and advances the frame, meaning I get the wrong result every time.

Note that I am 100% certain the parent's IVs are either 31 or 30 where I need them. The parents are not the problem; in fact, here is the seed I jump to when the cowgirl moves:

Seed: 86020262
IVs: 10 / 24 / 0 / 30 / A / A

How can I change this outcome?

And while I'm here, how do people use seeds found by other people, like the ones Smogon gives in the RNG guide?

^^^ Cowgirls do not advance the seed, only the frame. It messed me up to for a little while, but what I did is found out what frame they usually caused me to land on (they usually had me advance two frames) and just took that into consideration, and it works for me.

But can someone please answer my previous question on what the grey and black colors mean for the nature in DPPt Egg PID?

Neutral natures or ones that increase on defence and decrease the other.

You are +6 on your target delay...

Not every seed will have a starting frame of 0, as I have noticed after all of my RNGing. Also, frames+seed+position determine if a NPC moves or not after a certain time...
There was someone posting saying that if you get the two cowgirls to be in a certain position when saving, they won't mess with the frame. You can try this.

Try a different seed, or re-save to shuffle the starting positions.

You can use seeds found by other people, but you probably won't have them as shiny. Popular spreads like the timid flawless are good to know, since lots think IV>shiny. For those with Emus, they can get their spreads/PIDs/seeds here but sometimes it's just good to have a reference.

So, wait, I should intentionally go for a frame lower than the one I have so they advance it to what I want?

That's pretty awesome, but how do I intentionally go for a lower frame? delay, I can do, but...

EDIT: @ Kaphotics- that sounds interesting too, I'll try saving on the other side of the Daycare man.

Oh, so pretty much worthless natures, that makes sense. But then, if I give the mother an everstone, and she's bold, how can I tell which egg will be bold?
If your rnging and a parent is holding an everstone i think that messes up the result.

just discovered that if i save on the other side of the daycare man, I can't see the cowgirl that was messing me up before. gonna try again.

EDIT: Nope, both times the frame has been up by 1 from what has always worked for me. 5 instead of 4. What's going on here? I couldn't even SEE the other cowgirl, and no one else moved.

I was told that if I wanted to abuse for the exact same IVs on a Poke as I used on a previous breed, I could use the same seed twice to get the same results.

I have hit the delay and seconds for the delay, and varified the hatchlings IVs three different time (which, of course, were the same all three times), so I know what my start frame would be.

The thing that's going wrong, is that my hatchlings IVs are not on that seed anywhere.

They are still on the map, off screen but they still move. Try a different seed; and when I bred back in Pearl, I never used a 4 frame, always a 5 frame :) Plat has more NPCs? In my previous post I mentioned NPCs moving on a certain frame/seed/position, which is different for each seed/save place.

@skippy, you aren't hitting your seed if they won't appear, or you mixed up the parent's IVs/spot.

Theres other npc's that you cant see. Also you want to check your starting frame mutiple times just to make sure.If it keeps happening find another seed with a frame the npc's are causing.

But it should work, right?

Here is the info I have to work with, and my coin flips to match up to see if I hit my seed and seconds correctly matched all three times I have tried...

Seed: 4C030260
Date: 2010 07 08
Time: 03:06:14
Delay: 598
Frame: 16
IVs:31 / A / A / 14 / 31 / B
Seed Verification Coinflips: H, T, H, T, T, H, T, H, H, H
Parent A IVs: 31/31/31/31/31/31
Parent B IVs: 18/31/31/29/20/4
Start Frame IVs: 18/2/29/29/24/11 (This would be where my problem is, because they don't appear.)

Did you put the parents into daycare the exact same order as the last time you used that seed? Are they the exact same parents?

They went in in the same order. Parent A is the same exact Poke (Syberia's Flawless International Ditto). Parent B is an entirely different spieces though.

I'm going after a Jirachi on frame 26 (WonderCards). I can save in the Cerulean Mart with no moving NPCs at all, check my seed using the roamer map, and if it's correct, advance the frame up to 25 using the phone/radio, and then collect the Jirachi on frame 26, right?

That's your problem then. The second parent is different with different IVs. You said you used this seed before, right? But with different parents. That was a seed for those parents. You need a new seed for this set.

yes your method is correct.

>_<. I wasn't told I would need to have used the same parents. At least I know what my problem has been now though. Thanks for the help.
