Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

Will someone please answer this as soon as possible? I'm still saved infront of the old man and can't play until I figure this out:

There's no way to lower your frame. What you need to do is get the last page of your journal not to have any of the frame advancing messages. Start the game up, close the journal and resave in front of the old man; that should do it.

when entei and raikou respawn after beating the elite four, are they the same ones as before, or are stats, shininess, and nature new?

I think they're all new.

Catching pokemons in HGSS is the same than DPPt? They advance the same amount of frames? Or that is not known yet?
Still want to be answered.

Also, I just want to be sure that in HGSS while you walk to have 128 steps, turning aroiund does not count as a step, and turning and walking counts as 1 right?
Yes it is basically the same except Wild Pokemon are Method K not Method J
And no walking around in areas WITH Wild Pokemon in HG/SS is not reliable at all, but if you are in an Area WITHOUT any Wild Pokemon yes 128 Steps does advance your frame by how many Pokemon are in your party

Another update!

Sorry for all the posting, I'm having a lot of troubles, and this process is rather precise.

Hit my target again, oddly enough when I SR'd too early and it was at x:59 still... figures eh?

Did the next process in steps, the guide tells me to SR and put the date ahead two days, instead I first SR'd without changing everything and rehatched the egg- the stats were the same.

So I did the next step, set the date ahead, cancel the calendar, grabbed the egg and hatched it.... Yep! Correct stats again.

To sum it up: I have no idea what in gods name happened last time. I did the EXACT same thing, the only difference was this time I did it in two steps and last time I skipped the initial SR. I now have a couple questions about the next phase, here are the instructions I am using (Please send me to different ones if you feel these aren't adequate).

PS: For those that have helped me, if I can help you in any way after this is all figured out, I will do so any way I can =)

  1. Turn on your DS and set the date to at least two days after your current date. This will ensure that the Journal comes up.
  2. Reset your game, and then immediately cancel the Journal and collect the egg. Remember to speak to the Daycare man as quickly as you can as the frame starts to increase as soon as the Journal is canceled.
  3. Encounter a wild Pokémon as quickly as possible.
  4. Catch the encountered Pokémon.
  5. Select "Breeding (DPPt)" and then click "Generate" with this initial seed.
  6. Hatch your Pokémon and narrow down its IVs enough to find out which frame you hit in the generated spreads. When looking at spreads in RNG Reporter, remember that "A" means the stat was inherited from the parent that was placed into Daycare first, "B" second.
  7. Repeat Steps 7-10 about four or five times, making a note of the frame number of the egg each time. We're going to use this number in the next step to find a suitable spread that we can hit with ease.
I have a couple questions about these steps.

First Question:

Step #2, does the Journal page have to have anything specific on it? Mine only says:

Started from Solaceon Town.
Exited from Pokemon Day Care.

Is this going to be a problem for later? Or am I going to be able to manipulate it without ruining the process (EG: adding a caught pokemon and such to days around it and such).

Second Question:

The next step is to encounter a pokemon as fast as possible. I am currently saved right next to the Day Care Man in Solaceon, so finding a level 50+ Pokemon as fast as possible is troublesome. My best bet is to fly to the Resort Area and fish up a Magikarp, however, not every cast is a Magikarp, and not every Magikarp is 50+.

Any recommendations for this step?

Third Question:

One of the next steps says:

Select "Breeding (DPPt)" and then click "Generate" with this initial seed.

So, after I catch my Magikarp, I go into Seed Finder, click on Find Initial Seed by Stats, and enter 2010/4/11/X/X, where the last two X's are whatever hour/minute my DS is at when I started it up. Should I reset my time to any specific time? Or just before I load up my game, check my DS clock and then put those values into that field.

After I find a match, I hit okay, select Breeding (DPPt) and hit generate?

Thanks, this is where I am at right now, I figure I will run into problems anyway, so I want to make sure I am interpreting the steps correctly.

EDIT:

All worked fine, I think.

My first result the Egg ended up as:

30-31
10-14
31
25-29
11-15
16-19

And the parents were:

Parent A: 20/31/31/26/28/20
Parent B: 8/31/25/8/15/8

Frame 7 has the following spread: 30/12/A/A/B/19, which matches. Seems fine, right? =o Now to do that another billion times =)

Try number two I got:

6-10
31
2-6
25-29
6-10
6-10

Which lines up with 9/A/4/A/7/8

Which is frame 7 again, woot! I must be doing it right, lol.

I mean that if turning counts as a step.

Ok, thanks, so turning and advancing counts as 2 right?
Beeing on the bike or using the running shoes counts too?
And walking when I'm against a walk still counts as a step?

Walking\turning\whatever does not advance consistently in HGSS (i.e. doesn't always advance by 2). Both Jubilee and I have told you this, we shouldn't have to repeat ourselves. And this info is on the second post of the thread as well.

I AM NOT TALKING ABOUT PLACES WHERE THERE ARE WILD POKEMONS! I am talking about places where there are no appearances of wild pokemons, when I'm counting the 128 steps.

I'm now in the final stage of SRing for an IV spread, and I need to hit 602 delay, however I have hit the following:

605,605,605,611,599, all odd numbers. Someone before said something about only being able to hit odd or even numbers, I am on Platinum, is it even possible for me to hit 602?

First post of the thread has links to a guide you should be reading through first before coming here with these questions.

I know it still works, what I want to know is that if turning counts as 1 step, turning and moving as 2, running into trees also counts as steps, and if using the running shoes a}or the bike also counts as steps.

no turning does not count when you do the 128 steps in an area with no wild pokemon and you can use the bike or running shoes

I am able to determine my initial seed, but am unable to get RNGReporter to generate frames from it. I have followed the directions for getting the frame generation (steps 1-4) from here and am still unable to get any frame spreads from my initial seed of 6C12020D. I have Breeding (HGSS) selected on the drop-down menu.

How much Sweet Scenting in HG&SS actually advance your frame?
I always read something about 6 but today I experienced 3. Is it inconsistent?

Partially reposting again since nobody answered this simple question...
Which isn't on the first page...

What exactly are the places you can't use the Elm-calling method?
Is there a list?
I know someone said "you can use it anywhere, anytime", but he's wrong.
The one place I only know it can't be used is in those Elite 4 rooms.
But are there other places too?

If I recall someone posted that the pokemon standing behind you has an effect on how much it advances frames so try it while using the bike and you may get consistent results.

if your curious why don't you go to the areas you want to abuse in and try to use it, it isn't that difficult or time consuming

I am up to about 10 misses so far, all odd numbers....

I haven't read your other posts, but do you have a 3rd gen cart in your DS? If so, take it out, as it will change delays in Platinum from odd to even and vice versa. Otherwise, you can just simply adjust the year on your DS by 1. Adding a year will lower your delay by 1, and subtracting a year will raise your delay by 1.

I am currently doing this on my R4, nothing else is inserted.

Thanks for all the help, I'll let you guys know how this works =)

All this and it wont even be perfect, my parents were pretty bad and I wanted to try getting one in a frame I can hit consistently without having to advance the frame, so the spread will be 31/31/31/31/29/20, yeah, 20 in the most important stat, but whatever =)
