Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

Ok so when calibrating how do get the same sec value everytime you start your game.
and I have a action replay too, would be the cause of it
Well, you're supposed to synchronize your DS clock with an external clock, such as the one on a computer, and the instant the clock rolls over to a new minute, you soft-reset, then mash the A button as fast as possible to get through the opening ASAP. If you do this every time during your calibration phase, you SHOULD (but not definitely) get the same seconds value every time.

I'm RNG'ing on Pokemon Platinum and I mean if there is a pokemon that has been caught and one that has been traded, does that advance my frame by 2?
Oh, I thought you were referring to RNGing for Charmander in Oak's Lab in HG/SS. If you're referring to random Pokémon in your party when using the Happiness Checker app, then no, the origin of the Pokémon does not make a difference. If you're referring to the Pokémon you put in the Daycare, the only thing that makes a difference is if the two Pokémon are from different language games. If that's the case, you need to use the "International" method in RNG Reporter.

EDIT: FIRST POST ON PAGE 1000!!!

You're saying you have 1 Pokémon in your party that you caught yourself, and 1 Pokémon in your party that you traded for? The Pokémon in your party do not affect the RNG in any way (except for egg PID abuse in D/P/Pt).

Ok, now I know how you can answer my question, on the journal flips, if there is a caught pokemon and a traded pokemon on the first page, does it advance my frame by 2?

Oh, haha, sorry for the confusion. A Journal entry that references a trade does not advance the RNG in any way. The only ones that do are "Caught _____" and "Defeated a _____".

Only caught or fainted pokemon advance the frames by two. It doesn't matter if you have two caught pokemon on the same page or more. Just having any fainted/caught pokemon on the page at all means that page advanced your frames by two.

Ok, but I don't see why I'm on Frame 31 when I need to hit Frame 32.
The numerous NPCs in Solaceon Town are really a pain, and even if you have recorded what you believe is a consistent save frame from your calibration phase, you can still have several attempts where your starting frame is different from that. I discussed this with mattj several months ago, and he told me that his suggestion for someone who is experiencing this issue is to re-save the game and calibrate again. It's a pain, but when I had this problem, it solved it for me.

what I always do is I sync with my vista clock when it hits the new min then return to the dsi main menu then start up my game from my action replay start screen.that's how I get in game and get a bunch of different sec everytime like say 56,46,21,23,10,2,1 those are some of the seconds I get

I'm getting ready to abuse for an ID/SID combo. For normal RNG, you check search Elm calls for adjacent seeds, but is there a similar way to find what delay you hit when you're RNGing for an ID/SID?

You have to use the SID/OTs of your mistakes to narrow down the delays until you land in the game with the correct SID/OT.

Find Pandora's Box on the right side middle of RNG Reporter. There's a panel on the right for using your mistake OT/SIDs to get your delays and seconds.

So I have to use a different frame or no?

That depends on your new save position and what you discover is the starting frame.

Serious recommendation: You have an HGSS game. Stop trying to breed on Platinum and do it on HGSS. It's much easier.

Maybe, but all I want to think about is ID/SID combo to get good pokemon.

Hey riski could you please read my earlier post and see if am doing anything wrong, and oh yeah am using ss,I can't ever hit my elm calls
:( I think no matter what I do rng hates me

so im trying to RNG abuse for perfect IVs. I started up my game, grabbed the egg and went to go catch a pokemon to find its IVs immediately, but when I put in the IVs of the pokemon i caught into the seed finder under the seed by IVs and click generate, after it finds my seed, im getting a list of frames that are rather high....is that ok?

Are you talking about this one?

If that's the one you mean, you're definitely doing something wrong. You should be synching with your Vista clock, clicking A on the DS while looking at your DS clock time, at the exact same moment the vista second hand rolls around to 00 (top of the clock). For calibration, the DS clock should match your Vista time. So if your Vista clock is about to say, for example, 11:03 in the next minute, set your DS time to 11:03 so that both match when you hit A on the DS.

Then turn off the DS as usual so the clock sets. Get the DS turned on, wait for the AR start game screen shows. Don't do anything at all until the second hand hits 11:04. Exactly at that time, hit your AR game start button with your left thumb and start pressing A on the DS to get into the Pokemon game as fast as you can. Then catch a pokemon and use seed finder to see what your seconds are for a time of 11:04 and whatever date you are.

Next time you calibrate, now that your DS clock is already synched, you just turn the DS off, turn it back on, then wait for the clock to roll around again to the top of the minute and hit the AR game start button. Do the Seed to time thing again, using the current minute that you started your game. Do this until you see a consistent usual seconds. With an AR, it should be around 15 or 16.

Edit: I'm signing off, so any further questions will have to be answered by someone else.

I'm in the middle of RNG abusing for the roamers, and I'm inside Lance's room. If I choose an hour (say 20:56) that is playing Buena's password, can I just wait until the next hour to start advancing the frame with the radio? Does waiting until the hour rolls by advance the frame?

Also, if I accidentally move the radio NEAR a station, but not exactly on it (where it shows static), does that advance the frame?

I'm RNGing for an ID/SID combo right now, and I'm coming pretty close to hitting it now. However, I've only hit even delays so far and my target delay is odd. Do I have to change the year, since I can't scroll down the start menu?

Do you have a 3rd Gen game? Just stick it in the DS and you will be fine
