I just hit my delay, but it was 1 sec too early. What am I doing wrong?
What was the fix for this? I'm experiencing the same problem, on Toast's timer.

Okay i seriously need some help now. I have tried to RNG 6 times and it has failed. I dont even find what delay I hit with the 'search elm' function.
Edit: Oh, sorry to not include this but I also have visited Kanto, found the missing girl on the ship, defeated 3 gyms, beaten the elite four at Johto, defeated/captured ALL roamers (latios, entei, raikou), caught pokerus BUT NOT CURED (still get the same message as
mingot posts, "It seems that Pokémon that have been infected with Pokérus level up better. We're not quite sure why..."), showed hatched togepi to Professor Elm.
I do all this in the breeding house below goldenrod city.
I am trying to breed a shiny grimer, nothing else.
I go to time finder in the RNG reporter v8.31:
Year: 2010
Month: 12
Date: 31
Hour/Minute: All
Second: 40
Min/Max: 480_ - 900_
Nature: Bold
ID:24818
SID:27756
International Parents : Tick
HGSS shiny egg: Tick
I press generate and choose seed A50E02AF.
I go back the RNG Reporter and go to 'Seed to Time' and copy this in. Tick 'second': 40
Tick HGSS
Generate. (First one)
Now I scroll down to the bottom of the first results generated and click on 2010/12/31 - 14:09:40 Delay 677
Generate. (Second one)
I search through and find the same one, 2010/12/31 - 14:09:40 Delay 677
Now it says E, P, K, E, K, K, P, P, K, P, P, K (no roamers). (correct me if I'm wrong)
Now I start up PikaTimer 2.0.
As instructed, calibrated delay= 480 Wanted Delay = 677 Calibrated Seconds = 14 Wanted Seconds 40
'Create Timer'
I go to my DSi setup screen go to time, type in 14:09:00 and I press 'OK' and start on the pikatimer simultaneously, as instructed.
I wait for the first timer to finish and when it hits 0.00, I (attempt to/successfully) start the soulsilver game simultaneously.
I press a continuously and I get to the screen to load up my save file with 2 seconds to spare, I wait out the 2 seconds and press 'a' as soon as the pikatimer second timer hits 0.00.
I instantly go to my pokegear and call up elm. I get different results (from 2nd onwards) and use search elm to record each one I got.
'No seeds found' or whatever it says.
Now I'm sorry to write this much but I wanted to be specific as possible so that I can get some help for this.
Thanks so much to have the time to read this and help!
What was the fix for this? I'm experiencing the same problem, on Toast's timer.
I tried using Toasts timer too but Elm Search found nothing again.
Can someone please tell me what bit I'm doing wrong?

Riski is the best to ask about this since I have done eggs in along time but here what I see.
You will never hit your delay because your calibrated delay is even and your target delay is odd. You will need to change the year in seed-to-time to 2009 or 2011, to get an odd delay or you will need a 3gen gba game.
And about the timer, instead of starting the game when the first delay is zero, you should Soft-reset(L+R+Start+select) in game when the timer hit zero and press A on the continue screen (the blue one) when the 2nd timer is zero.
Also in the seed to time function do your have your adjusted delay in the Seed to time finder to be at least +-50 and seconds to be +-1 and also have the "odd/even" box unchecked?

Thankyou soooo much for your corrections and suggestions!
I have to go to work but I'll try this tomorrow!
I didnt have +-50 delay, i had +-10 delay. Seconds was +-1.
I have a dsi so I cannot use a 3gen gba game so I'll set the year to 2011.
One question though, what does the 'odd/even' box exactly do? I have it unchecked though ^^
Thanks again, I hope it works!
the bold statement is the only thing I have a problem with. Beside DP, if you dont know what whether your game hit odd/even then it make rng difficult.Calibrated delay/seconds is kinda a joke. It's just the long way to figure out the delay between when you SR and when the delay clock starts ticking.
tl;dr even/oddness of the calibrated delay doesn't matter.
The number suggestions are good though.

What do you mean by 'tl;dr even oddness of the calibrated delay doesn't matter'?
from tkinter import *
root = Tk()
Label(root, text="Press Space to increment").pack()
v = IntVar()
L = Label(root, textvariable=v)
L.pack()
v.set(0)
def rezero(event):
v.set(0)
reset = Button(root, text="RESET")
reset.pack()
reset.bind("<1>", rezero)
boom = Button(root, text="QUIT", command=exit)
boom.pack()
def update(event):
temp = v.get()
v.set(temp+1)
root.bind("<space>", update)
root.mainloop()
Do you just estimate it based on what time it says at the start up screen for the actual DS or something else?Reset your game, making a note of your DS date and time at the moment you hit A while on the "Continue" screen. You do NOT need to know this down to the second, only to the minute, so it should not be extremely difficult. The continue screen is shown below so there is no confusion.
If you go inside Mt. Silver, Rock Climb the ledge, then go outside, there are pokemon at level 50+. Just have your lead pokemon be level 50 and use a repel, save in the grass. That's how I've done it in SoulSilver. Hope this helps. ^__^;I'm not sure if this is supposed to go here or not, but I'll assume it does.
I am trying to learn how to hatch shiny pokemon, http://www.smogon.com/ingame/rng/dpp_rng_part1 , following that guide, and most of it makes sense and I only have a couple of questions.
For the catching a pokemon level 50 or higher, since I'm on SoulSilver and there isn't many that high other than legendaries, would pretty much anything at Mt. Silver work? And would catching inside the actual Mt. Silver Cave be fine as well?
Also, where it says

Having and even or odd calibrated delay doesn't really matter as far as what you hit. You'll find out whether you hit even or odd as soon as you find out what you hit altogether. The delay range definitely needs to be opened up for now. Once you get it dialed in, you can move it to +/-10. If I were to guess, I'd say you'll find you were hitting around 30-50 over your target.
@DarkChaos' edit - Actually it does the opposite. It hasn't taken me longer than 3 tries to hit any seed. And I have never had to adjust it for delays < 1500. After that, I may have to change it by ~4. I'm not saying that hitting even or odd doesn't matter, but the true calibrated delay doesn't matter. And I'm not talking about the delay you hit a few times when you're button mashing. It's an actual length of time. I really have to write this all down somewhere sometime....
Edit 2: Why is my edit longer than the original post? Hmm..
The Mild synch Abra will probably be needed. Do you have a spread picked out, or do you need help finding one?So i have joineed the smogon community! and i need someones help haha. I am trying to figure ou this whole RNG thing and i'm kind of lost. I am playing Pokemon Diamond and i have already caught a random shiny(geodude) and pretty sure i found out my SID(18512) and my trainer id is (08520). Pretty much from there on i get lost. My target Pokemon is a Shiny Dialga w/ Mild nature(i have a mild abra to synch if it's needed), the IV's don't really matter to me as much as changing the date very far behind or ahead. Is there anyone who is well versed in RNG'ing that can maybe walk me through what i need to do in a non complex manner lol.
And that's basically what the calibration step is. You know what your seconds will always be, and a rough estimate of your delay. That's what the calibration step does, is figure that stuff out. Nothing else.oh and i tried the calibration phase a little but don't know what i need to take note of really. I tried last night at 12:35AM a few times and caught a pokemon and put its iv's into the rng reporter and i would always get 14 seconds with around 620-630 delay, i only tried like 3 times but each time i got a different nature pokemon and different IV's. am i supposed to be getting the same IV's each time or is it supposed to be different? or does it not matter.. lol any help will be greatly appreciated!
1) If your delay is odd, it will always be odd. Sorries. Switch the years on RNG Reporter so the delay turns out odd for you :)
2)If it is always one second behind, you can just enter what you in as your calibrated second instead of switching the minute :)
3) Use Toastplusone's timer :)
