Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

sorry, Retail Cart

Pretty much, all you got to do is luck out. No way of checking your delay, no way of tracking your frame. It's pretty much all luck induced.
If you dare try. Save in front of Elm's door, and let the one lady at the bottom of your screen move until you hit your correct IV frame that will make one of the starters shiny.

do i have to determine mi SID to do this??

^ its hard to explain without a knowledge of how much you actually know about RNG, assuming you know nothing, a good place to start is to pick a spread you want to abuse your ID/SID for then taking that PID and using Pandora's box to output ID/SID combos.

Abusing your ID/SID is not really the place I recommend starting for RNGing, HG/SS is fairly easy to RNG breed/capture so read the DPPt guides, watch bearsfan01 videos on youtube, get a familiarity with what your doing and the tools(RNGReporter/PokeRNG/Various Timers) your using.

If you really want to learn the ID/SID abuse read this AFTER you read the basic guides in the first post

Then if you have questions ask here. You can also ask any question you have about the capture/breeding part of RNG here too.

Can someone help me out? I need to find my parameters in order to rng abuse standard seeds. Only thing, I'm using a flashcart, a TTDS to be precise, and I don't know how to find them. I'm using a Nintendo DS Lite so I think I should be able to rng abuse standard seeds.

Sorry, wrong thread =( I'll post on the other one.

Hello, I asked this once, but I still don't get it.. how do I choose the right encounter slot for wild pokemon (fishing)? I want to capture a clamperl in black -> route 4 / Slot 1. But there are 4 Pokemon in the same slot! Do you just have to be lucky to get the right Pokemon?

In platinum, how can you do wild rng catches in areas with sandstorm or other weather conditions, since sweet scent doesn't seem to work in those areas?

Lowen: 5th gen Rng thread might have a better idea on how to do it, but my guess is since there are 4 for that encounter slot that its a 25% chance.

.Lele: first of all you can't confirm your delay with coin flips(annoying) so there is only one option I know of since Sweet Scent doesn't work. Thats to use the PokeRadar, and walk into the non shiny spot(guaranteed not be a radar pokemon). So it involves, first hitting your delay(confirmed by catching a pokemon via the radar) once you know what your delay looks like(the shaking spots are in the same spots for each delay) then calculate how many steps/turns to the non shiny shake spot, and add however many frames you need for the shaking spots(its in the 6th-9th post on how much the number of spots advance the frame) subtract that from your target, -6(5 for catching the pokemon and 1 for the monster frame) divide the remainder by 2 to get your journal flips. If its an odd number at the end, throw in an extra turn on your route to the shaking spot.

I got a Jolly Dugtrio on Route 228 with 31/31/31/24/31/31 doing it this way.

And concerning the method to use, do I have to use method j?

Sir anyone here who's willing to help I'm trying to rng my ID no. in Soul Silver, and I want to know what should I put on the calibration rate of my timer and what timer should i Use when doing RNG for ID numbers

Hey there! I just have a quick question... I hope. ._.;;

I understand the basic concept of RNG abuse for Platinum and B/W (And have actually RNG'd a few nice Pokes... Go, go all 31 Adamant Metagross!). My question is about Platinum RNG Abuse. The guides I've read and videos I've watched are two years old, and they insist that I have to reset x amount of seconds before I press A on Continue (x being the time it takes for me to load my save file after I've soft reset. And yes, I know about Delay, too. I'm actually consistently hitting 14 seconds and 602 Delay - assuming I reset at xx:00 - , so I'm planning on using seeds that generate that time.). This worked fine for me yesterday, but my L button has been failing me, and now it won't reset for me today. Can I do something similar to B/W RNG abuse - and by that, I mean load up the game from the DS menu a second before my supposed "reset time"?\

And if I can't do that, is there anything else I can do to make up for the fact that I can't soft reset?

yes, you could just load up the game on the DS menu instead of SR hope it help

I'm not sure, but to clarify your in the room with all the water/waterfall right? If not then you are indeed on the second floor and 1 is the encounter slot for Donphan.

I don't remember about the water/falls but I was in the very first room of Mt Silver when entering the cave near the pkmncenter.

If you scroll up to the beginning of the water encounter slot -table there is an explanation:

Surf | Surf (Water Spot) | Fish | Fish (Water Spot)

So the 4 pokemons in the same slot mean the first one is encountered when surfing, the second one when surfing to a water spot, the third one when fishing (there is a chance you only get "not even a nibble" though) and the fourth one when fishing from a water spot. :)

Is there a fast way to determine if an ID/SID combo is possible? I'm using the Pandora's Box application on RNG Reporter, and it takes forever to search for an ID/SID combo

What are you searching for?
What did you fill the boxes with?
Cuz I searched for an ID/SID it found 5 in like 10 seconds, literally.

Just got myself an ID of 34567 :P

I'm trying to find an ID:47717 and SID:47767, and it's been searching for 20 minutes with no success. Here's a screenshot of what I searched:

Well yeah, when you refine a search to that it might never come up. As that ID/SID combo might not even exsist. Let alone appear any where in time for that game.

What I'm trying to do is determine if that ID/SID combo exists because it has a good shiny physical spread for RNGing, that's why it's so refined.
