My Pokemon Ranch: What do we know?

Do you guys reckon this game already has the new form sprites? As in the new Shaymin, Origin Giratina and new Regigigas?

Well, it fails to reference Platinum, though a new balloon skin shouldn't have been all that easy to sneak in.

It might be like Ruby/Sapphire, where trading it to there reverts its form.

Wow, I thought Microsoft was the master at ripping people off with DLC. But then Nintendo gets everyone to buy this useless piece of crap just so they can cry over how terrible their mew is that they spent hours and hours cloning and transferring for. Go Nintendo!

They aren't exactly advertising Mew like it's the best thing about the game. In fact, many people don't know about Mew most likely, unless they read about it online. The main "pull" of the game is extra storage space.

Nobody's forcing anyone to buy this game either.

The day after I got Ranch, Hayley traded me three times in a row. However, she hasn't traded me at all for the Wanted Pokémon since then.
She needs to bring in Pokemon in order to trade them with you. Also, best to import one wanted Pokemon at a time, as I learned after a while, as she seems to trade one at the most.

Stupid Wi-Fi still not working. And first post in six months?

Anyways, I'd like to get this game, but judging by some of the posts, it sounds kind of like a dud. No organization or anything. But I don't understand something, can you send Pokemon from multiple carts, or from just one?

Welcome back.

Multiple, but you have to put them back on the ones it came from.

Thanks.
But that's really stupid. They just should make a new Stadium or something where you actually get everything in one game. *sigh* Shame on Gamefreak for being greedier. =/

My Pokemon Ranch has no in-ranch organizing but you can sort the pokemon returning to your D/P game. It defaults to the order sent into the ranch but you also have the option to sort by Pokedex ID, Name, Height, Weight, etc. I can't remember all the sort options off the top of my head, unsurprisingly.

Well, there's also the cute factor.

Nature was one as well. I think Marks was another.

Today my ranch has expanded capacity of 1000. I am starting to wonder whether it's 1000 per game cart or just 1000 total since Hayley mentioned not to worry about her pokemon taking up space.

I believe a bump is justified here since Australia got Ranch today. I've been enjoying watching my Pokemon's antics. Here's a few:
  • My Pikachu was pretty shock-happy early on, to the point where my Mii and Plusle (the main victims) started to DODGE the lightning strikes
  • Spiritomb looks weird
  • My Manaphy is scared of Pikachu, Plusle and Minun
  • Hayley's Arcanine jumped on her and squashed her
  • Jirachi's been asleep THE WHOLE TIME
  • Crackers, my shiny Chatot, is fond of sleep-flying

Coincidentally, one of my Fire Pokemon is fond of spewing flames on everything. No, it's not Charizard, it's one of my Cyndaquils. xD

Pokemon tend to be scared of Pokemon they have any sort of weakness to, friendly or not.

Certain Pokemon have special idles. Skitty chases its tail until dizzy. Omanyte likes to thrust backwards (moving like a real ammonite might, underwater, except on land in the ranch).

My Jirachi sleeps constantly, too! I wonder what's up with that.

Wasn't Jirachi the Pokémon that sleeps for over 1000 years wakes up once and grants a wish to whoever is with it at the moment of it's awakening?
Yes, that is correct....I saw that Pokemon Movie, wasn't that bad. Okay, maybe it was.

Is there any advantage to having this over another Diamond/Pearl besides the cute factor and the fact that you get 1,000 Pokemon stored?

I haven't played this game since the day I bought it. And I have no desire to play it in the future.

I wasted half a Wii points card...

In my opinion, it's not really a game that you "play"; most of the actual work (that's kind of what it feels like) is done on Diamond/Pearl. Hell, this "game" is more of a utility than anything. You catch Pokémon, put them on here, trade for some random Pokémon or a Mew if you have enough time on your hands, then watch them walk around and ride on each other's backs. Cute, but gets real old after the first ten or fifteen minutes.

I pretty much spent eleven bucks (tax for the card included) for the Mew to be honest, because I live in Canada so there's no way I'm getting one otherwise. Sure, I might not ever get a good one, but I can get loads to trade to my friends who don't know/care about IVs and Natures and such.
