you cant trade a coach lol... The knicks did make a trade for Larry Hughes of the Bulls.

Spurs beat the Pistons in a hard fought game. It was a nice win..

....

Bye bye Amaré....

lol

(for those that don't know yet, he had eye surgery today to repair a partially displaced retina that he suffered in the last game, and the recovery period is ~8 weeks)

Yeah, hell didn't even notice he was injured in that game. Damn, this really does suck...losing him will hurt our overall chances, though hopefully they can prove they don't need Stoudamire like they did the whole 05 seasion there when he was out with that knee thing.

was a very different team, but now they do have Shaq. The man can help at least, and if someone can score 40 points every night I wouldnt be worried.

I've essentially given up on the Pistons this season.

Of course, Joe Dumars will completely tear open the free agency in the summer, with the second highest cap space going into the summer. Expiring contracts from both Rasheed Wallace and Allen Iverson. :9

^^Would you resign either of them given the choice? Just wondering so see what a Pistons fan would say.

I see no reason to. Rasheed is old and unmotivated. He doesn't get into the paint anymore, just drifts out towards the arc more than KG does. AI at least has heart but he's 33 and can't penetrate defenses as well as he used to. He has to learn how to be a PG because I don't see him getting 30+ a night anymore.

As for free agency... Not too many good ones really this offseason. I'd like to see a true PG come in, maybe a Raymond Felton so Stuckey plays off the ball, but that's about it, there aren't really any good Centers last I checked.

I see. Im kinda going for the Spurs getting Sheed, but he dosent seem to want to get inside, or defend anyone well besides Tim Duncan. I think Stuckey should stick with the point, and maybe you guys bring in a slasher not named The Answer.

Well General pretty much summed it up.

However, I do believe Stuckey is a great point guard. Him attaining a spot on the All-Star team is almost certain, in due time of course.

In regards to the free agency in 2009, it isn't great, but there are some notables that are worth mentioning. I'm only going to be stating centers and power forwards, since that is virtually the only two spots we will be needing. As much as I like Mcdyes, he is getting old, and needs to come off the bench.

- Carlos Boozer (PF)

- Mehmet Okur (C)

So the line up would look something like:

PG: Rodney Stuckey
SG: Richard Hamilton
SF: Tashaun Prince
PF: Carlos Boozer
C: Mehmet Okur

Pretty good balance, and obviously since we still have the second highest cap space, we obviously will have some cash left over. What ever Joe Dumars has planned, I'm sure it will be great. I haven't seen any slip-ups from him in a long time, his pick of Rodney Stuckey in the draft was just utterly amazing. While to most, the Allen Iverson deal was a wash, Joe used it mainly for rebuilding. The old unit just wasn't going to get it done.

Also, in addition to the expiring contracts of Rasheed and AI, Kwame Brown and Mcdyes' contracts end. We will probably resign Mcdyes and dump Kwame.

Im surprised you would want to bring Mehmet back, and Boozer will be asking for big money im sure. You guys can make it happen.

The Pistons can also just wait until the summer after next season for the big free agent class if they can't get someone good this summer. The Pistons also need to fix their horrible bench...

I think A.I. is going to have to learn (and like!) to come of the bench eventually as a 6th man if he wants to play for a contender. That would be pretty scary if a team had him coming of the bench.

Yea I'd agree with waiting till the next summer. However, you know that Joe Dumars will pull something this summer, since his fans are kind of annoyed after six years of success.

Rasheed Wallace has declined so much this year...he's nothing without Billups.

With injuries to Jameer Nelson and Tmac the number of contenders is thinning.

Interesting stat: Don Nelson is 33 wins away from becoming the winningest coach in NBA history. Lenny Wilkens has 1,332 wins and tonight Nelson got his 1,300th.

Do you think he'll be able to get to 33? If I'm not mistaken this is the last year of his contract with the Warriors...and yeah, they aren't getting 33 more wins this year...

Boston won V_V
If I were the pistons I trade wallace and both A.I. during the summer of '10 and try to get somebody like bosh.

lol really, you're goin to say dumar hasn't slipped? darko pick? or how he didn't even have a first round in like 04 and 06?

Yeah, they coulda had Mello, but nope, we'll just take Darko instead. Great pick, Dumars.

That combined with hiring Flip Saunders and trading for Allen Iverson should tell you something about Dumars.

You do realize that if they drafted Melo, he would have been considered a bust, just as Darko was(and still is )

Larry Brown dosent play his young players much, unless thats all he has to work with.

don nelson should take the clippers job next season. the warriors have a worse team than the clips. reason why the clips have that record is because camby/baron/thornton/kaman/randolph/anyone else either REALLY goes down with an injury or doesn't care about the season at all anymore.

thats if dunleavy ever leaves.

Yep, I am convinced that the Rockets made a great deal in the trade. With T-slack gone and Rafer no longer randomly jacking up teardrops, I think we'll be pretty good once we cohese and Landry gets back. The game against Portland should be a good test, as there's a good chance we'll battle them in the playoffs.
