NBA Playoffs

Well, in a false attempt to keep my hopes up, I am telling myself that since we had so many 10+ win streaks, we can easily pull off a 3 game win streak now!

Heh, Game 5 was quite intense especially near the end imo. So much for all the "Dirk = choke" hating going on.

But still, even though I picked the Mavs, now I kinda want GS to win, b/c they actually have a good chance, despite being the underdogs and shit.

Warriors choked in the final stretch of Game 5. They were up 112-103 and Dallas went for 16 unanswered points. =/

Game 6 is a must-win for GS or they'll go back to Dallas for a Game 7. My NBA.com bracket got messed up too much in the first round. =/

They did not choke, DIRK took it from them <3 <3 <3 three pointer, block, then that beautiful back and forth and perfect fake and reset for the next three <3 <3 <3 The Mavs gave up a 21 point though, which was terrible :/

goooooooo warriors

also how the hell have you guys been posting hasnt this been down for like a week ;-(

anyways updating

LET'S GO WARRIORS!!!!

Baron Davis pulled of a Willis Reed effot. Playing despite the pulled hamstring.

Although there are a lot of interesting things to note in this series. Particularly the fact that Dallas could've taken out Golden State during the regular season and avoid the matchup with this Golden State Warriors team.

Golden State needed every win down the stretch of the season and one of the games they played was against the Mavs. Dallas chose to rest their stars and lost the game as a result. If Dallas had won that game, maybe, just maybe, they woulda gotten a better matchup in the playoffs.

oh god I'm salivating at the possible Suns vs Warriors West Finals (of course with my Suns winning), that was the greatest basketball I watched in a long time and I'm a Suns fan. Nash is the MVP after that series, but too bad the voting already happened, Dirk Nowitski, more like Dirk Nomvpski

bulls/pistons tomorrow? wtf? houston/utah game 7 is tomorrow they dont overlap shit

well i checked and apparently they do so make picks i guess, you can make them through tomorrow night (fuck the game tomorrow idc about it)

Pistons over Bulls in 7
Cavs over Nets in 6
Houston over Warriors in 6 (or utah over gs in 6)
Suns over Spurs in 7

K, the way how I've been predicting series lately, most of these will go horribly wrong.

But meh, idc as long as the SUNS WIN THE FINALS!!!

Warriors vs Rockets
The Warriors won't be able to get out on the break as much against the Rockets as Yao's presence in the post will force the Warriors to a half-court game. The Warriors have a lot of energy at their home floor so they might win a couple games there. Houston wins 4-2

OR

Warriors vs Jazz
Now this is where the Warriors can run their regular fastbreak style of play. The Jazz will have to not fall into the trap of settling for jumpshots. They should push the ball to the basket and try to score there. Look for them to establish Boozer as a presence in the low block. Both teams perform well at home bt I expect the Warriors to come out more energetic, due to their victory against the Mavs and the Jazz being wearied if they do win against the Rockets and steal a win on the road. Warriors win 4-2.

Spurs vs Suns.
Hmm, tough pick. As much as I like the Suns better, I don't think they can win. San Antonio is not just a half-cour team thay can run as well as the Suns and their excellent defense can shut down the Suns 3-pointers. And well, without the 3-pointers the Suns aren't really going to be much. Suns will win a game at home though. Spurs over Suns 4-1.

Bulls vs Pistons.
The Pistons are much more effective of a team. Deng is not going to get as much points as he did against the Heat due to the presence of Tayshaun Prince. The Pistons are deeper in the frontcourt plus their battle-hardened squad has grown better and better over the years. Pistons over Bulls in 6.

Nets vs Cavs.
I am siding with the Nets now, as they are my favorite eastern conference team. As long as Kidd stays hot like he did in the first round, Jefferson continues to play well, and Carter finally goes back to his normal scoring self (no more boos from the crowd on the road), I can see the Nets as a possible darkhorse in this playoffs. This should be an exciting battle between Carter and James but I think playoff experience will pull through in the end. Nets over Cavs in 7.

Warriors vs Jazz 4-1 Ride the Baron Train, baby
Spurs vs Suns 4-2
Bulls vs Pistons 4-1 You heard it here, folks.
Nets vs Cavs 4-2

East:

Pistons over Bulls in 6
Yea, so I'm a Detroit fan and rest assured, I'll pick them every round they're in.
Nets over Cavs in 6
This is more a playoff experience pick. The Cavs in the Lebron era have yet to impress me.

West:

Utah/Houston over Warriors in 5
The end of their fantasy run, awwwww... The Warriors return to their mediocrity against a non-Mavs opponent.
Spurs over Suns in 6
The Spurs are just a more consistent basketball team. Not much has changed for either team in the last couples years, so I figure the Spurs will come out on top.

Warriors vs Rockets
Yao vs small ball = GG, the Warriors took Dirk and Diop out of the defense, Davis drove in at will, while Yao is a much better defensive presence, he will get tired from chasing the Warriors around all night, the Warriors will defend T-Mac like they did Dirk, always shadowing him with their 6'8" athletic line up, Warriors 4-2

OR

Warriors vs Jazz
I think this is where the Warriors run into problems, Boozer can and will create some match up problems, AK47 is a great defender and if he remains active he can create some defensive plays, I expect this to go to 7 games, Baron will not give up, hes relentless and will push his team hard, Jazz 4-3

Spurs vs Suns
Tough pick, this would be a Conf. Final any other year, Bowen and Duncan are great defenders, everyone is expecting 80 point games, but if you look to the previous match up 2 years ago it was actually 100+ affairs every game. The Suns are better than last time while the Spurs remain unchanged, this will be high scoring and Nash the MVP will figure a way to win, he wants to win this year like no one else and I have to take my team, Suns 4-2

Bulls vs Pistons
Both great teams, Pistons have so much more experience in the postseason than the Baby Bulls and Hinrich is Jordan in his early career, walled by the Pistons, Big Ben may cause some problems with his inside info but I expect the Pistons to win it, Pistons 4-2

Nets vs Cavs
King James vs the Nets is what it is, I'll compare someone to Jordan again and until LeBron gets some real help aka a Scottie Pippen he won't be getting anywhere in the playoffs, I do expect this to play out though. LeBron is a great player and has fire but the Kidd-Carter combo is much better, Nets 4-3

Eastern

Pistons over Bulls in 6
Chicago is a good team but the Pistons are playoff vets. Detroit destroys teams that rely on the jumpshot, which is exactly what Chicago does.

Cavs over Nets in 6
Lebron's not losing this. If he can take the Pistons to 7 last year, he can definitely beat a mediocre Nets team.

Western

Spurs over Suns in 5
San Antonio is peaking at the right time. Phoenix is a good team but they don't matchup well with the Spurs. San Antonio is great at shutting down the transition game and we all know how good they are in the half-court.

Warriors over Jazz/Rockets in 7
The playoffs are all about momentum and no one has more momentum than Golden State. The biggest issue here is Baron Davis's hamstring, if he's reasonably healthy, the Warriors should win.

Bulls over Pistons in 6
The Bulls play the Pistons as good as anyone

Cavs over Nets in 6
In LeBron we trust

Western

Spurs over Suns in 6
Spurs>Suns
Jazz over Warriors in 6

Bulls 4 Pistons 2
Nets 4 Cavs 1
Spurs 4 Suns 2 (Spurs benefited most by the Mavs losing, since they are a good matchup with the Suns and a terrible with the Mavericks, whoever wins this pretty obviously is the favorite to win it all)
Jazz 4 Warriors 2 (Warriors will not keep it up)
