NCAA March Madness 2011

Your point? Pitt has it ridiculously easy, especially with the #2 seed going to Florida (?). Don't get me wrong, I'm a Florida fan, but the way they played the championship game, definitely a 3-4 seed in the southeast.

My only response is that it's March Madness. Anything can happen. If anyone is toppling Pitt, i think those three schools have the best shot.

yeah marquette had a tough schedule but if you wanna compare ranked teams they barely did better than colorado and vt beating duke at #1 has to count for something whereas the best team marquette beat was probably uconn. second year in a row that vt has unfairly been left out.

and I realize the big east is good but seriously you don't think there's any bias when they take ELEVEN teams?

also they obviously have a tougher schedule because they're in the big east. wins count more than tough schedule alone. and i realize marquette has wins against a few of those teams but still

The credit was due since literally every team with the exception of Depaul are solid to good teams.

VT beat Duke at home.... St. Johns, the number 5 team in the big east did the same thing and handled them, and St. Johns isnt even that good

Also beating Syracuse, ND, and Uconn isnt good either? Besides beating Duke who else did Va. Tech beat? Ya nobody relevant

i've been looking for the facebook March Madness bracket, as they have it every year.. where you can compare with friends.. but i just can't seem to find it.

anyone have any luck?

Nope, not this year, at least. Name one team in the Big East that shouldn't be there.

Marquette at the 11 is probably the "worst" of the bunch, and even so are in position to potentially upset Xavier in what I feel is probably one of the top 3 games in the first round. Marquette's worst loss is to Seton Hall, a team that went 7-11 in the Big East (for comparison, Seton Hall was 12th in the Big East, and Seton Hall beat St. Johns and utterly destroyed Syracuse, and had a bunch of close games against teams both in and out of conference). Literally every other loss they had is to a team in the big dance, for the record.

Even when I look to see if there's bias in the seeding of the Big East teams, I struggle to see more than maybe Villanova being a 10 more along the lines of a Michigan St. than a 9, but even then that's iffy.

I really don't know what team from the Big East you even consider taking out of the Big Dance.

Add in that the ACC is awful/overrated and you have your reason why VT is out. ps don't lose to Georgia Tech and Virginia (twice).

EDIT @ Lakers: BUT THEY BEAT PENN STATE!!!!!!!111111

(none of their other wins are against teams in the big dance)

I just picked a ridiculously random top 4 plus my annual Kansas-Texas pick (I will never forgive Syracuse for preventing this from happening, so I picked them to lose first). Pitt for Jumpman16, UNC to balance out that pick by picking anti-Duke, a nice random as fuck top 4.

Good pool guys, 40+

If you haven't gotten your picks in, tomorrow is the last day. Get 'em in. Maybe we can give out a custom title for the winner if one of the Admins is down.....

I think that this is the first time in years that I have put Duke past the sweet 16

I'm already regretting it.

Ouch the Old Dominion vs Butler game is a lot closer than I thought it was gonna be; tied up with 17 mins left. Both teams have been playing incredible D.

WV is gonna go onto win it looks like

Just waiting around for the Belmont vs Wisconsin game. I think that will be one of the top games in the Round of 64

EDIT: Also LOL at Louisville being doing by 10 only 8 mins in. Apparently they didn't come energized today

I actually had picked Morehead St. for a few days, then chickened out and changed it back. If they win, I'm going to be slapping myself. Besides that, I'm looking forward to watching Wisconsin lose to Belmont later tonight. Wisconsin is basically the least clutch team in the NCAA tournament that I have even seen. They make Duke seem like they play near the level of their regular season hype.

But then again, i picked Texas A&M Corpus Christi against Wisconsin a few years ago when TA&M CC had 20 points in the first 10 minutes in a 2/15 match-up. And then Wisconsin lost to UNLV the next week. In a year with so many upsets, i was basically the only person i knew that year that had UNLV right :>

EDIT: Sergeant Pepper so clutch with the two steals

Thank goodness I had Louisville losing in the next round to RICHMOND anyway

GO SPIDERS

but seriously fuck me for second guessing myself

at least you didn't have them as national champions

oh well my family bracket seems to be going okay, i had kansas beating them in the semis

but still FUCK WHAT THE FUCK LOUISVILLE

I am so sad about how Penn State lost...

I thought they'd lose by 20 since they're, you know, terrible, but God damn Battle poured his soul out today. Fernandez hit a hell of a shot.

I agree with Max; Ohio State got this.
As well as Duke obviously making it pretty far.
BYU and Pittsburgh also have good chances.

My condolences to the other four people with Louisville in the finals too. :(

[13:26:35] <CaptKirby> by the way
[13:26:42] <CaptKirby> based on the past is there any team you can trust less than louisville?
[13:26:46] <CaptKirby> I would never pick them to win more than a game lol

HAHAHAHAHAHA holy fuck

UK pulls out the win out of their ass. ODU loses (barely). I'm doing poorly so far. Can't believe Louisville lost still. So dumb
