New and "creative" moveset/EV spread thread "Mark 2"

Speaking of recycle, i once tried to make a set of protect, sub, recycle, recover/toxic with leppa berry(restores 10 PP to a move that vran out. But leppa wasn't implemented on shoddy. So never tried it out.

Shoddy is lacking a lot of possibly creative crucial items that should be implemented.

well i had another idea...

MixMojonbo

Tangrowth @ Lefties
Relaxed-Leaf Guard
252 HP/ 228 Def/ 28 Sp.Atk
-HP Fire
-Power Whip
-Sleep Powder
-Leech Seed/ Knock Off/ Stun Spore

Usually when people see HP Fire they switch to blissey, expecting to wall your special attacks and heal the status's their team has taken. HOWEVER, with this Mixed variant you cna ruin Blissey with Power Whip(someone who knows damage calcs can help please)

The EVs that went to Spe are now in Sp.Atk becuase of the bulkier Scizors and You want the closest OHKO you cna get, it still maims Forretress however.

I cma eup with this while looking at the analysis and saws the two sets, same sread, just different nature. So i combined the best of them in the third slot. You can go for Knock Off for it's annoyance value, Leech Seed to get back Health, or Stun Spore to cripple typical switchins such as Infernape and Azelf.(At least from my experiences with Mojonbo).

Relaxed nature is used becuase it still pumps up defense and with Gorgeous Attacking Stats they can go without the boosts, expcet for the HP Fire Part, thats kinda Important.

You could however use HP Ground over Fire if your worrried about Heatran Switch-ins coming in to sponge your attacks and OHKO with a Fire Blast/Overheat/ Flamethrower(you get the point...) It also helps with the infernape issue, however Azelf is still the Enemy. Even if you manage to knock off it's life orb with base 55 SpD you are still facing and OHKO.

Please dont flame me, this is one of the few ideas i've had in a while..

I'm thinking of getting an Articuno Choice set into the analysis - but I can't do this alone. Please help!
Here is a set I had in mind:
(please note that any option for slot 4 is up for grabs)
Name: SpecsCuno
Move 1: Ice Beam
Move 2: Extrasensory
Move 3: Hidden Power/Signal Beam
Move 4:Ominous Wind/Water Pulse
Item: Choice Specs/Choice Scarf
Ability: Pressure
Nature: Modest/Timid
EV's: 4HP, 252SpA, 252Spe

This set may score some surprise kills, as many people expect Articuno to be more of a defensive Pokemon. It also makes use of one of Articuno's lesser-known options, Extrasensory, which is obtained by purifying it in XD. Ice Beam is listed for STAB and because it is Articuno’s most powerful move without a real downside. Extrasensory is listed here because it has three times the PP of Ice Beam and may cause flinching.

Slots three and four are mostly filler. Hidden Power is highly recommended, but Signal Beam can be used for more power and an answer to Dark-types like Sharpedo, who is OHKOed. Although Ominous Wind can be used in tandem with Hidden Power Fighting for perfect coverage, any move can be used in slot four. Choice Scarf can also be used over Specs to outspeed certain threats.

This is all I have so far. PM me if anything comes up.
Thanks in advance for your support!

No the majority of Recyle users are frail Psychic/Normal types exceptions being Slowbro, SLowking, Cress, Snorlax and Blissey, and most of them cant afford to spend a turn setting up, Cress can, but Blissey and Lax are Koed by Infernape's Close Combat easy.

There's nothing stopping an Infernape from crushing Snorlax or Blissey with a Close Combat while they sit there Sleep Talking for two turns either...

Nidoking @ Life Orb
Trait: Poison Point
EVs: 200 Atk / 252 SpA / 52 Spe
Rash Nature (+SpA, -SpD)
- Earth Power
- Superpower
- Ice Beam
- Crunch / Thunderbolt

In an era of Steelix and Bold Clefable, Nidoking's mixed set needs a little revamping. Superpower deals with Clefable, dealing a minimum of 65% to Clefable with the first hit. However, Earth Power deals a minimum of 43% to the same Clefable, allowing for a guaranteed kill against any Clefable with a combination of Earth Power and Superpower. Earth Power is a guaranteed OHKO against standard Steelix, and a minimum of 83% against the rare Curse (252 HP / 252 SpD, Sassy) Steelix. The third common wall, Claydol, takes a minimum of 60% from Ice Beam, assuming 252 HP / 0 SpD, Bold.

The final slot is a a bit of a toss-up. Crunch deals with Rotom and Hypno / Grumpig, whereas Thunderbolt deals with bulky waters, Mantine and Blastoise in particular.

Wow, it learns Superpower now? I used to use Mix Nidoking all the time when I was an UU player. That set looks great umbarsc =).

Itches to get out his uu team...

Well, after looking at some canidates for my idea set, I've came up with this:
The Eternal Star!
121.png
121.png
121.png
121.png
121.png

It just keeps on shining brighter!
Starmie@leppa berry
252spe/the rest go in for maximun defense capabilities. I guess max HP may be okay
Timid
-protect
-sub/toxic
-recycle
-recover/toxic

Well, this set is meant to be never ending and just stalls forever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever......... you shoulld get my point by now.

Well, first, sub while they switch to somthing that'll maybe wall starmie, then, protect while you check out what they do.If the opponent is faster, sub. When your hp is too low and you are sure that your opponent can't kill you, recover and then protect. When your PP of a move is gone, leppa berry activates and restores the PP. Now you can either recycle the berry for more uses or use a different move and wait for oppotunities.

Toxic or recover/sub is your choice. Toxic makes it more offensvie.

This set would greatly appeciate toxic spikes and spikes and SR, as it will wear down the opponent. There are many others that can do the same set, but starmie is the fastest of them all, allowing it to sub before many other's attack. It's a really gimmicky set. Could be really annoying. But it cannot be used yet, because leppa berry is not yet on shoddy.

Any help on evs would be greatly appreciated.

gjy.

Hello? Anybody?

It's a pretty awful and unfinished set. You have tons of slashes and don't even choose a hidden power. Bug/Ghost/Psychic/Ice is incredibly redundant as far as type coverage goes. Articuno cannot use a set like this because:

1: He'll probably be taking 50% damage every switch in due to stealth rock
2: His special attack is fairly mediocre and does not make up for his type coverage

On SpecsCuno:

When using Hidden Power, it's generally suggested that you give the type of HP that the Pokemon should use. I highly suggest that HP Grass and Electric be the main options for slot 3 for water-types, noting that HP Grass hits Quagsire, Gastrodon, and Lanturn while HP Electric hits Mantine. Ancientpower should be noted simply for being the strongest answer to Ninetales that Articuno can muster. Alternately, Toxic is viable as a standard neutral "kill walls" answer, as a lot of switchins (Gastrodon, Lanturn, Mantine, and Ninetales to a lesser extent) hate Toxic- it can also be used to bluff a support set.

Nidoking was one of the original users of Superpower. It learns it naturally IIRC.

Thanks. I'll add that on MSWord!
And Legacy Raider was right - NQueen got Superpower, not NKing.

No comments? Well, the set is very weird. Very weird.
Another way for it to work is to mean lok a wal and just keep stalling with it untl he/she gives up. LOL that will take a while:jump:
Please comment on it!!

Mixed Tangrowth is already in the analysis, but I however like the combination of HP Fire with Eathquake perfect coverage, while still maintaing a defensive build, Power Whip is good, but Grass is known for it's lack luster coverage, I might do some calcs to see if his EQ will KO Heatran/Infernape on the switch in.

I am sure eq will kill off a 100 base atk.

Why isn't anyone commenting on my Starry set??
Is it that bad and boring??
Plz comment on it!!

All those ppl commented on other sets but not mine. I am really sad.

Bumping 3 times in one page won't help. It's just annoying.

Anyways, that Starmie set is bad. What can it do to the opponent? Set up a substitute and do nothing behind it? Say you run Toxic. What can it do to the numerous Steel types running around in OU? Gives Scizor a chance to get a Swords Dance up.

I know it sucks.
haven't tried it.
I just wanted to make a perfect circle pokemon that never dies.
It can be deadly to your opponent, it's not so much as competitive, but repetitive. It can frustrate your opponent to make them quit to ensure 100% win without the danger of random hax or sweepers. So what if scizor SD, Just protect, Sub and so on, I know it can't go on forever, but here's a simpler solution, switch to heatran! It's not like the starmie got a ton of stat up and is ruined after it switches out. I guess it would work better on stall teams. Too bad it's not useable in shoddy. :(

1234gjy:

Hypno @ Custap Berry
Impish
252 HP / 240 Def / 16 Spe

-Recycle
-Calm Mind
-Wish
-Psychic

Calm Mind to power up, then when you get hit you activate Custap and hit hard. Recycle when done to repeat. Wish to heal. This way you go first without relying on Trick Room and hit hard.
