10-4, very good week that could have been better if I didn't stick to my guns and pick Dallas. No that many of my correct picks weren't no brainers aside from Miami and Seattle.

11-3 this week after going 4-10 last week...so bipolar.

Week Seven Matchups have been posted, and standings have been updated. YTP has been removed for missing two weeks.

Zangetsu and Stallion continue to hold the number 1 and 2 spots (for the third week in a row). danmantincan and Somebody vaulted into 3rd and 4th place with very strong showings this week, slipping ahead of YoshiX and Echo. (who, coincidentally, have achieved identical scores every week so far). Everyone else seems to have stayed in a similar place. The exceptions to this are WaterBomb (myself), Fabbles, Shinryu, and CaptKirby, who seem to be struggling to develop consistency from week to week. Will anyone rise to the challenge and unseat our two frontrunners? Will danmantincan continue his hot streak? Will I go two weeks in a row without dropping (or gaining) 10+ spots? Tune in next week!

That was my attempt to bring a little drama to the numbers and competition. Epic fail I know, but I'm bored at work.

5-9 this week >_>

augh ... can't believe the chiefs and ravens gave up a win in the second half. you gotta be jokin me! oh well. back to the bottom of the pile for me this week >_<

Another 8-6 week. This is becoming a pattern ... that desperately needs to be broken in order to start getting ahead.

Cleveland vs New Orleans
Pittsburgh vs Miami
Washington vs Chicago
Cincinnati vs Atlanta
Philadelphia vs Tennessee
San Francisco vs Carolina
St. Louis vs Tampa Bay
Buffalo vs Baltimore
Jacksonville vs Kansas City
Arizona vs Seattle
Oakland vs Denver
New England vs San Diego
Minnesota vs Green Bay
New York Giants vs Dallas

Good match-ups this week, sadly no Jets game T_T. Pittsburgh will simply not die this season, and Miami isn't going to beat that Defense. Washington is becoming a real threat in the East, while Chicago is losing the momentum it had earlier this month. Atlanta can handle Cinci, and the 49ers are still looking to do well in the West. Jacksonville has a better team than the Chiefs, Seattle is improving. Minnesota can take care of an injured Packers, how 'bout them Cowboy's (shooting themselves in the foot).

The one game I have serious doubts over is Philly vs. Tennessee. I can see it going either way, as its a pretty close game. Right now, giving Tennessee the win simply cause of their Defense and the fact they're playing at home.

Edit: Changed my picks for Philly and Kansas City. Being an OK team doesn't mean much when you don't have a QB.

Cleveland vs New Orleans
Pittsburgh

Washington vs Chicago
Cincinnati vs Atlanta
Philadelphia vs Tennessee
San Francisco vs Carolina
St. Louis vs Tampa Bay

Buffalo vs Baltimore
Jacksonville vs Kansas City
Arizona vs Seattle
Oakland vs Denver
New England vs San Diego
Minnesota vs Green Bay
New York Giants vs Dallas

Cleveland vs New Orleans - does Cleveland have a shitty schedule this year or what? Sheesh!
Pittsburgh vs Miami - obligatory homer pick
Washington vs Chicago - This goes against my better judgment knowing Washington's propensity to fuck up easy games, but they should still win here.
Cincinnati vs Atlanta - I hope the Falcons are mad and bounce back
Philadelphia vs Tennessee - Unless Kevin Kolb screws this up (which he might)
San Francisco vs Carolina - Carolina gets their first win here. SF doesn't travel
St. Louis vs Tampa Bay - This is a tough one, but my gut is telling me St Louis
Buffalo vs Baltimore - For shits and giggles. Come on Bills!
Jacksonville vs Kansas City - I believe Jax is the worst team in football
Arizona vs Seattle - I don't believe in Max Hall, even if his players do
Oakland vs Denver - Kyle Boller? Really?
New England vs San Diego - Gut feeling here as well, about time for SD to heat up
Minnesota vs Green Bay - Tough one, complete toss up
New York Giants vs Dallas - I am starting Brandon Jacobs in fantasy this week, so Murphy's Law dictates he will suck and the Cowboys will win.

Bengals at Falcons - Besides the fact that the Bengals are bad, Ryan almost always has his best games while at home.

Redskins at Bears - I'm tired of everyone saying the Bears have been "exposed". Anyone that isn't football-retarded knew from the get-go that the Martz offense plus that offensive line was a recipe for disaster.

Eagles at Titans - No VY, no win.

Jaguars at Chiefs - The Chiefs are not losing at home with an excited fanbase against team that just got crushed and may be forced to start Captain Checkdown.

Steelers
at Dolphins - The Dolphins have a poor home field advantage: both of their losses came at home.

Browns at Saints

Rams at Buccaneers

49ers
at Panthers - There is no reason to ever pick the Panthers. They are going 0-16.

Bills at Ravens - Ditto for the Bills, especially when they're on the road against a Super Bowl contender.

Cardinals at Seahawks - The Seahawks are almost always competitive while at home, especially in divisional games.

Raiders at Broncos

Patriots
at Chargers

Vikings at Packers

Giants at Cowboys

Cleveland vs New Orleans
Pittsburgh vs Miami
Washington vs Chicago
Cincinnati vs Atlanta
Philadelphia vs Tennessee
San Francisco vs Carolina (As always)
St. Louis vs Tampa Bay
Buffalo vs Baltimore
Jacksonville vs Kansas City
Arizona vs Seattle
Oakland vs Denver
New England vs San Diego
Minnesota vs Green Bay
New York Giants vs Dallas

9-5 last week...not bad.

Pittsburgh vs Miami - obligatory homer pick
New York Giants vs Dallas - I am starting Brandon Jacobs in fantasy this week, so Murphy's Law dictates he will suck and the Cowboys will win.

Pittsburgh is not a homer pick, they are the best team in the NFL by all indications.

Ahmad Bradshaw is the #1 back in NY if you did not notice (and having a generally killer season), so the Giants do not really care if Brandon Jacobs has a bad game!

Jacksonville the worst team? Yeah maybe if you forget the Bills, Browns, Panthers, and 49ers. Jacksonville may be the most INCONSISTENT, but they seem to still be the same 7-9 to 9-7 team a year as always. Their offense is completely inconsistent, probably not helped by David Garrard's mediocrity + M.J.D.s injury, but they have their chops.

Well, the fact that they are the best by all indications doesn't change the fact that I'm a homer. Just being honest I guess, but thanks for the support!

I know Bradshaw is the #1 back, but Jacobs has been seeing considerable goal line action and was the best available back for me to grab off the wire. I suppose it's possible for Jacobs to suck and the Giants to still win since Bradshaw sees the carries, but I just needed filler for my comment on the game. Really I could see it going either way, but I think the Cowboys will pull it together this time, while the Giants simultaneously have the bad game they've got coming.

You're right about the Panthers and Bills being worse, but I don't think the Browns and 49ers are worse. The Browns have been playing hard, staying competitive in their games (except last week), and I think they just have overall more consistency and production. Their defense and offense are both better than Jacksonville's, and much less bipolar. In the end, it comes down to my opinion on what "better" is, and I view consistency as more important than wins/losses. The same goes for the 49ers, who also have better numbers on both sides of the ball than the Jags. Honestly, I'm not sure how the Jags managed to get 3 wins in the first place, but obviously they performed well enough in those games to earn it. So I guess in the end you are correct, they are not the WORST, but easily the most inconsistent. Point conceded.

Cleveland vs New Orleans - Poor Cleveland...and their next two games are against the Pats and NYJ.
Pittsburgh vs Miami - As much as I want to say Miami, it's hard to go against the best team (currently) in the NFL.
Washington vs Chicago - Close game (as all of Washington's games have been this season), but I think Chicago can pull out the win.
Cincinnati vs Atlanta - 7th in pass offense vs 25th in pass defense, I think it's time for Atlanta's first home loss.
Philadelphia vs Tennessee - Although Kolb had a great last game, I don't think he will be able to repeat. Either way, Chris Johnson will just light up the Philadelphia defense.
San Francisco vs Carolina - Both horrible teams, I suppose it could go either way.
St. Louis vs Tampa Bay - I suppose it comes down to which Rams team shows up on the field.
Buffalo vs Baltimore - No brainer
Jacksonville vs Kansas City - It's going to be tough for the Jags, especially if they don't have Garrard.
Arizona vs Seattle - Two teams that are likely gonna end around the 0.500 mark, should be a good game, but Seattle has been solid at home so far.
Oakland vs Denver - The only reason they have the same record is because of the schedule.
New England vs San Diego - Gonna be a close game, I see New England taking the win with another solid performance from Branch.
Minnesota vs Green Bay - As much as it pains me to go against the Vikings, there is just to much drama with Favre, and they are going against a solid Green Bay team.
New York Giants vs Dallas - Dallas just can't buy a win (probably because they spent a billion dollars on a new stadium...bazinga).

Well, to me a homer pick has to be one that is made "against reason", without thought (for the reason of fanboyism, not because it is a no brainer like this case), it is a pick made without any knowledge of how good your team is or the odds they face, just picking them because you like them. As long as the Steelers look like the #1 team in the NFL, everyone should pick them with no thought. Saints/Steelers/Bucaneers/Ravens are the games that fall into that category this week, anyone picking them regardless of fandom is not really being a "homer".

Well Jacobs is the goal line back, but he also fumbled the first try this season. Regardless, they are still going to probably run for 120-150 yards in the game based on previous results, so it is not like the running game will be the source of any trouble (likely)...that is all I was nitpicking, I very much hope Dallas wins!!

Browns have been playing hard, but that does not count for anything - they had no quarterback and are now 1-5. I hope that turns around now with my boy COLT MCCOY WOOOOO who had a promising enough first game against a strong defense, even if a lot of the game was played in comeback mode / default trying to pass mode, and he did have some interceptions, but it looks like he may be the same injection of "getting the team to average" that Bradford has been on the Rams :) (although the Rams defense has gone from godawful to just slightly bad, which is an amazing improvement for them lol).

Gonna reply to the worst team thing in the other topic, this is getting too spammy for just "picks" lol.

Cleveland vs New Orleans
Pittsburgh vs Miami
Washington vs Chicago - Tough
Cincinnati vs Atlanta
Philadelphia vs Tennessee - No DeSean's gonna make this hard, such a toss up though!
