Has anyone besides me noticed (I might have missed this in the thread but I am not reading 23 pages of posts) that the quality of DS games on the 3ds is very poor? I tried playing BW, and the graphics were miscolored and awful.

Is this with all DS games on 3ds?

Yeah, I've tried this with Platinum, and it happened there, too. Same for Kirby Super Star and Mega Man Battle Network 5, and the graphics are a lot fuzzier. It even happens for DSiWare like Four Swords Adventures. The screens on the 3DS are bigger than the ones for the DS, so they stretch the image to fit on the screen. Because of that, the image is much fuzzier due to the 3DS having to fill in the blanks, usually with muddy grays.

Same thing happened with the Game Boy Advance playing Game Boy / GBColor games, except that you could switch between the actual resolution and the "widescreen" version at will with the L and R buttons. The Nintendo DS didn't let you toggle the resolution for GBA games at all, but it kept GBA games at their original size (DS screen wasn't that much larger than a GBA screen, I guess...); it just surrounded them with a solid black border. So why they didn't do that for the 3DS playing DS games, I don't know.

Hold start as you select the game on the home screen and it'll be its original resolution on your screen then. Prolly works with GBA games played on 3DS too, I can't remember clearly.

EDIT: err I mean select and yeah, works for GBA games, I just checked.

yeah i had this problem. called them up, they emailed me a fedex label, i sent it and got it back 2 weeks later spic and span. for free.
 
wow 40/40 from famitsu... might have to invest after all. i got an email ad for it from EB today. i do need more 3DS games.
 
Don't have any links (iPhone) but fire emblem awakening got a new 6 minute trailer that shows some gameplay features as well as some impressive looking cutscenes. There are also rumors that would confirm cameos for marth (who would be the masked guy from previous trailers), as well as several other old characters (all I can remember is Innes from sacred stones), but I personally doubt that all of those characters have cameos as it isn't like fire emblem to have the separate canons intertertwine like that.
 
Yeah, I'm not just dismissing Kid Icarus, but Famitsu reviews seem a little too "random" nowadays to give it full credence.

Yeah, I'm kinda relying on what the pre-order binder said at Gamestop, probably not the most reliable place, but as long as it gets released, I could truly care less.

And seriously, only a month ago? That doesn't even sound right, but you have a point on the localization of Smash Bros. At least I'll have Paper Mario 3D to hold me over for four months after it's released based off the dates I have.

Yes, mine seemed to be scratched from the very first day I used it. For some reason, only on the left side of the top screen. Almost seems like another intentional hardware fault (along with the lack of a second circle pad) to encourage the purchase of an inevitable 3DS upgrade.
 
Watched those KIU vids they have on Nintendo Video now.

The CGI ones are GOD-awful, it pained me to even watch them. However, the anime one made by Studio 4G was absolutely fantastic, even if it was a bit short.
 
Been looking forward to Kid Icarus since like forever. Its one of the main reasons why I bought the 3DS in the first place x_x

Anywho, I'm totally ok with mixed reviews since I don't need to have my opinions validated by others in order to enjoy the game.

Don't think I'm buying another 3DS game for a while really.. Can't think of anything coming out soon that I want :(
 
The 3D just gives me a headache, and I still haven't bought a game for it lol. That and I've finally completed Excite Bike, my life's ambition as a 6 year old with a NES in the 90s
