The White Stripes -- "A Martyr For My Love For You"

A nice, relatively soft song from these guys... it's one of the best tracks on the album, with pretty good lyrics and nice percussion.

7/10

Cradle of Filth>>>From the cradle to enslave

this song is so cool..i love the lyrics.....i know all of them(well most actually)

10/10!!!

Daniel Johnston - Walking the Cow.

I was ecstatic when I found out he was performing in Savannah. Unfortunately, he's performing at a bar where you must be 21 to enter. Just my luck.

Do Make Say Think - All of This is True

Nearly 8 minutes long is nothing abnormal for Do Make Say Think, as they constantly make long compositions blending post rock and jazz that make for great background music. This track? It's the same thing, although it seems just a bit more quiet than other songs. Great percussion throughout, with some haunting effects and a strong influx of brass. Fun stuff to listen to.

8/10

War of the Worlds - My Vitriol

My Vitriol are currently playing a few smaller gigs, whilst having performed at a couple of British festivals this year. After six years, War Of The Worlds is definitely giving hope that their soon to be released new album will live up to all the hype generated from their prior two.

King Crimson - VROOOM

First time listening to their 1995 album THRAK and this song is a great opener. Absolutely no lyrics, but I don't think this song even needs them, it's that good, there's a drums/bass and wicked guitar combination that's just awesome, excellent add-on to a progressive band, the guitar softens up on the chorus, which I think is the best moment of the song.

9/10

Alkaline Trio - Rooftops (Originally by Hot Water Music)

This is an excellent cover of an already brilliant song. Alkaline Trio's softer edge brings out the potential melodies and gives the song an altogether brighter sound. Recommended listening 8/10

Esmerine - Histories Repeating as One Thousand Hearts Mend

Yet another band has been created as a GY!BE project, and as you should know, each is unique in its own way.
The whole track is haunted by cellos (Esmerine's signature instrument) and an ambient sound. By the end it gets slightly faster and it's aided by percussion, resulting in a great effect.

KottonMouthKings-Bad habits the anti drug song from the band thats basically sings about smokeing drinking and sex. talks about how drugs affected them and how they regret it

Just before clicking to check this thread I was on Interpunk trying to order the split that this song comes from. Good stuff.

Tindersticks - Whiskey and Water

At first I really could not get myself to listen through an entire song by them because the vocals would bore me before the end. I decided to try again and give them another try and I am really glad I did. The song feels like it's building up the entire time to some big explosion of music but you never really get it. I really can't explain them so you will just have to listen for yourselves.

8/10

Sigur Rós - Glósóli (did I spell this right)

Really good atmospheric post-rock, I dig Jónsi's falsetto vocals and the really supportive drums and what sounds like a glockenspiel.

Between the Buried and Me - The Decade of Statues

Second track of the new album, it sounds like their previous stuff. I guess there'll be something different in the longer songs that come next.

6/10

Bloc Party - This Modern Love

I used to listen a lot of Bloc Party, but somehow got bored after discovering other bands and they went to the background. Now that I don't have my own computer for a while, I have to use my sister's. And what do you know, she has Bloc Party in her playlist, so why the hell not listen to it.

This Modern Love is my second favorite song from them, after Helicopter, and the lyrics are always as great as they are. A really calm song, which deserves a listen or two from anyone.

9.5/10

City and Colour - Sometimes (I Wish)

I really love this song, the layered acoustic guitars have such a beautiful sound to them, and all one does is strum the same chord the whole song. The lyrics are amazing.

10/10

Hum - Stars

Beautiful music. Hum is sometimes associated with Smashing Pumpkins, but in my opinion the things that makes the former better than the latter amounts to three: The lyrics are far better, the music feels fuzzier and more dreamy due to the guitar, and the amazing, droning yet emotive voice of Matt Talbot. Stars is the epitome of all three of these things. Great lyrics, fuzzy and heavy guitar, and beautiful singing. As soon as you hear the first line of "She thinks she missed the train to Mars/She's out back counting stars" you're pulled into the song completely and you'll love almost every moment. The only part of the song I didn't like was when it ended, but Stars is still at a decent time of 5:09. This was my first Hum song and because of that it remains my favorite.

DM.....yes. I don't know what to say other than this.

City And Colour - Happiness By The Killowatt (Live Piano Rendition)

Just as good, if not better than DM's song above, Dallas just never ceases to amaze me with his vocals, lyrics and musical ability. 10/10

I'm gonna have to get onto this dallas green dude, recommend me an album anyone?

np: Hot Water Music - The New What Next (yeah the whole album)
This arrived shortly after I got Forever and Counting, and I have to say on first impressions that this one pleased me more. It's slightly less hardcore, slightly more melodic, very good stuff.

Make out with me. Now.

No seriously, Stars is the single most important song in my entire life. I consider YPAA possibly the only completely perfect album from start to finish. Methinks you should maybe request this song in my music thread... possibly...

I'm gonna have to get onto this dallas green dude, recommend me an album anyone?

I only have Sometimes, I know he has other stuff out there though. But definitely give this a listen asap.

The Smashing Pumpkins - Blue Skies Bring Tears

This isn't a bad song, but it's from the post-Mellon Collie era when the band was trying out new things, most notably all the electronics they threw on Adore. This was Chamberlain's return, and while the album on the whole was pretty flat, it had some gems. This is average.

7/10

Bjork - Innocence

This is going to be her new single apparently. Or is the new single. So it's obviously above the par of the rest of the album. This has a far more techno edge than the rest of the album, which contributes to its standing out even more. A very unique sound, even for a techno song.

<Previously, Bjork - All is full of love>

Lamb of God - Ashes of The Wake

Pretty good groove metal (slowed down thrash) instrumental, with some solos from Testament guitarist Alex Skolnick and former Megadeth axeman Chris Poland.

8/10

Shall I upload some more tracks?

Now Playing: Billy Talent - This Suffering

I used to really hate Billy Talent, with the lead singer's voice really pissing me off but they've grown on me over the years I guess. One of the better songs from the album "Billy Talent II", despite the lackluster album title. 7/10.
