Official NBA 2010-11 Season Thread

I think the problem is that the Heat go ice cold during crunch time in the 4th quarter. But with 2 of the best clutch players in recent years, I'm sure they'll get their act together when playoffs come.

What? The problem is that only four guys can score in any game. Even with 30 from Lebron, 30 from Wade, 20 from Bosh, and 10 from Mike Miller, a team like the Spurs/Mavericks/Celtics/Bulls with equal defense and a solid bench is going to beat them in a seven game series. The 30/30/20/10 scenario is no gimme either, just the best case.

I wonder if anyone on the Heat bandwagon jumped off after they heard some players were crying in the locker room after another loss to an elite team. lol

Hahaha I thought you were exaggerating but they were crying for real....after a regular season loss! Hah yeah this team TOTALLY has the mental fortitude to be elite and win it all, you don't see the Lakers crying after they get spanked by the Bobcats/Grizzlies, or the Celtics or Spurs crying (except Glen Davis....but I dont blame him, Kevin Garnett is fucking terrifying).

LMFAO
Imagine if they lose 1 game in the playoffs, even if its 1 game?
But seriously, after this, I think the heat's a bunch of spoiled brats and don't even deserve to get past the 1st round of the playoffs.

Remember when signing Lebron, Wade, and Bosh onto the same team guaranteed instant success and multiple championships?

Me neither.

I like how he left the Lakers out.

Oh hey, which team lost to the Heat? Yes, that was the Lakers. I am not biased about anything, I was talking about teams against the heat. Celtics beat them twice, Mavericks beat them twice, Bulls beat them thrice, Spurs beat them once, as I recall. You are so desperate to act the big man, how about enjoying sports instead?

After the hiding we're dishing out to the Spurs as we speak, I'm sure the Lakers wont slip his mind in subsequent discussions :)

I am sure you might actually think about a post before your condescension next time!

Heat continue to show how they are going to lose to the first real contender they face in the playoffs. Awesome. Nice +425 for me too.

Losing to the Heat once doesn't mean the Lakers aren't capable of playing defense against them or having a better bench. They're as good defensively (if not BETTER than most of the teams you listed).

They are three times western conference champions and back to back champions. They are as much of a contender that plays defense as any other. If anything, they should be the first one listed.

They got swept by the Magic two years ago. What happened in the Finals?

How should they be the first one listed? I was talking about teams that could beat the heat, and the other teams were all undefeated against the Heat. I would have included the Magic or Lakers if they were not 1-1 or 0-1 against the Heat. The regular season is not a lock on what its data means, but until the actual playoffs come it is our best guide, rather than what happened last year. Feel free to keep using dishonest pejorative and mistaken snide condescension to discount everything I say though, even though you are factually in the wrong.

Really, I could not care less if the Lakers win again this year. It would do a nice favor of letting one instantly know who never to talk about sports to (anyone who thinks Kobe Bryant>Michael Jordan).

I can definitely agree here.

Personally I don't use regular season match-ups as a guide in terms of wins or losses.. I just use match-ups. I don't need to see the Lakers/Heat in order to know the Lakers would win that series (and if they lose tomorrow, I'd still take them).

Ultimately, cross conference match-ups don't really matter. Both teams are usually unfamiliar with each other and two games is not enough to know who matches up better against who.. that is of course they lose to the team 8 out of 10 times (Bobcats).

Lakers, it may not be here, you definitely see it at places like IGN. There are mild trolling factors likely involved, but there are also lots of serious people. Remember, it takes no knowledge or credibility to have any opinion, and people love making audacious claims to grab attention.

Max, keep living the dream. It looks to me right now that Lebron would not only have obviously had the best chance in Chicago, but that he would also have had a better chance in New York due to the better surrounding parts after spots 1+2. The Heat are not going to compete for a title until they get different players.
