Sorry, I feel like I'm doing a really poor job of expressing myself, but yeah, that IS what I am considering. I'm saying Let's all hope Alteria's BS go into a spread that lets it play unique cool defensive roles rather than turn it into an outclassed DD mega Dragon. I'm basically saying we don't know what Alateria will end up being but based on all the options it COULD have the only one that looks "bad" is DD just because it'll pretty much be outclassed..... sorry for the poor communication. btw this is what I first said that got people attacking me about this whole DD thing.... but I think that post conveys that my official stance is " M-Alteria will be good as long as it's not DD"... lol

Yeah just so we're all clear my "pseudo-pessimistic" expectations for Loppuny and Alteria are just based on the trolly nature of GF, the current state of the meta, and things we already can compare them to. Both of them COULD be really good offensively but they're starting at offensive base stats around 70 so they need to be getting like +50 minimum in one offensive stat and then still get the other stats more or less right.

Alteria needs +60 atk and +20 spd before it's up to par with Charizard X and even then it's dealing with worse STAB coverage. And it needs even more than that in those two stats to keep up with whatever likely growth Salamance will get in it's atk and spd. I'm not saying it'll be bad but GF has to being trying really hard to keep it from getting outclassed as a DD Dragon Mega and i don't see them dropping all 100 BS in just those 2 stats. In my original post that got this whole discussion going I was just trying to say that we don't know what it's BS spread will be but it would be cooler if it was defensive given it's massive resistance list, unique support moves, and roost. Now if it's offensive boosts are Special oriented then that a totally different story. And if it's getting a boost primarily to bulk then its gonna be cool and unique. If it ends up as a DD Dragon mega I'm really am hard pressed to figure out how it's not outclassed. I think Alteria will be good I just think it stand out more if it goes bulky rather than physical offensive.

My point was that Altaria doesn't even need to be built offensively for it to be a good DDer. It doesn't need to be on par with Zard X offensively because of what it has to offer defensively (which is not just limited to its typing but options like Sing to shut down counters), and because Pixelate goes a long way to mitigating its (at the moment) poor offenses. I actually feel that Altaria as a DDer benefits more from defensive than offensive boosts. It only really needs +20 attack to clean up shop.
 
So, Mega Salamence. After Metagross, who can honestly say they're surprised? The Shiny Beldum event threw a wrench into my expectations, though, I was expecting the two Megas to be version exclusives. Oh well, I can still say I called it, unlike Altaria and Lopunny. The former was definitely in the "plausible" category, the latter came out of left field. Now watch Flygon get one too, and maybe even Walrein. That being said, I can't imagine there being more than a handful of un-revealed Megas left for ORAS now.

The various Pikachu are also kind of interesting. GameFreak seems to be giving Pikachu quite a lot of attention for a main series game, so I suspect it will have a bit of a role in the story. I heavily suspect that players will receive Pikachu as a gift Pokémon at some point, kind of like the Lucario forced upon you in XY. No reason to have a specific NPC for telling you about how awesome Pikachu is, and giving you various Pikachu-related accessories, if catching a Pikachu is entirely optional (In RSE, it was only catchable in the Safari Zone, which means catching it involved a detour).

I hope we start seeing more non-gen 3 megas after this release. Gen 3 had the second most megas in X&Y besides Gen 1, and I'm not sure what other popular mons are left from that Gen. You have Sharpedo, Flygon, Lari@s, & Camerupt & that's pretty much it.

Generation V needs some mega love like Haxorus, Cofagrigus, Reuniclus, Volcaronia and Krookodile.

Everyone loves Breloom and Tropius

And there are plenty of less popular mons that deserve megas/ could have very cool megas like the Space Rocks. Anywho I just say we get more megas in all gens! lol

I have a feeling that Mega Lati@s might be getting a design change or never released for some reason. The way they designed it now, it's the most boring design of any mega.

Those would be cool, but Aero probably stays as the only fossil mega.

Lol, as long as they give us at least 5 more non-Hoenn megas I'm okay.

I also have a hunch we're never gonna see the mega latis. I don't know why, but I have some gut feeling that GameFreak thinks 'if you guys are just gonna hack them, why should we bother releasing them'. I mean, it's not like the Azure Flute was still given out after everybody had already pokesav'd one...
