It is time for this stage of the gym process to conclude (or begin I guess?). The following gym types will have the following actions taken in regards to them.

Ice: Awarded to waterwarrior, congratulations!
Steel: Awarded to Complications, congratuations!
Fighting: A 3 way round robin will be set up between deadfox081, Birkal, and AOPSUser using a b5p3 singles format.
Rock: Leethoof will be removed from his position as Gym Leader for failing to adhere to an appropriate DQ. He may complete his current Gym matches as the Rock leader but may no longer accept any new challenges. Applications for this GL position will be open for a week.

In regards to the Fighting qualifier the format will be as follows:

In regards to Rock, we thank Leethoof for his service and acknowledge his less than desirable Siberian status and are opening the position to new applicants.

In regards to Ice and Steel, the new Gym Leaders should PM and discuss their proposed arenas with the Gym Committee ASAP.

I Intend to get the fan favourites (Volcarona, Infernape, Charizard and Blaziken) if I manage to get the Gym. Didn't do so because, quite frankly, I didn't really like them and I am not a huge fan of megaevos and all.

Blah blah blah flavor.

- It's a very dense forest, so there are trees everywhere and they won't budge that easily.
- Trees are considered 20/4/5/1/3/0 4H/5W Grass-Typed pokemon for calculation purposes. They can be used as Cover (for the command "Take Cover") and they can be fell onto any pokemon you want if you manage to destroy it with a single single-target move aimed at it (for calculation purposes, calc the tree using Wood Hammer against the target, only with 80% accuracy instead of 100%).
- Spread moves not named Hyper Voice, Earthquake, Magnitude and Bulldoze are blocked by the trees: you will have to choose one target as the dense forest won't let the attack spread enough to hit other pokemon. The attack will hit at full power as it has only one target.
- The sturdy roots make the ground more stable. Earthquake, Magnitude and Bulldoze are multiplied by 0.5 instead of 0.75 when used on doubles+. Fissure can't be used.
- The battle occurs in movement, as both you and the dumb gym leader are trying to escape the dangerous woods (how the leader gets lost again and again is beyond me). Because of that, hazards (Sticky Web, Stealth Rock, Spikes and Toxic Spikes) have no effect and moves such as Reflect, Light Screen, Safeguard, Magic Room, Trick Room, Sunny Day, Rain Dance, Hail, Sandstorm (other similar moves may be added later) have their duration lowered by 1 round/3 actions as they won't be able to keep up with you for that long.
- Also, its a freaking forest on the summer, so no sand nor hail. Unless you have the weather rocks.

Also, in case you haven't noticed, the arena is made for doubles and triples. Mostly Triples. Many of the rules are taylored to make triples itself viable instead of just giving the leader the advantage, hence the big number of effects.

Adam was part of Jet's group before disappearing from sight, moments before the Pawniard attack. Jet is suspicious he might have something to do with it. However, Adam denies it all, and simply said he felt like needing to leave.
The final evolution into Delphox has boosted Adam's psychic powers, and he has managed to steal his opponent's items in battle.
He has gained his title, "The Deciever", by successfully manipulating his electric opponents into exhaustion in Canis Majoris vs. Colourcodedchaos.

Just putting it out there that with the Gym Committee's permission, SubwayJ and I would like the fairy quals to be b6p4 doubles, and I would like to do this in my qualifying matches against any other applicants (lol is that the right word?).
The reason for this is because between Aromatisse, Slurpluff, Mr. Mime, Dazzling Gleam, the lack of Steel spread moves, and so much more, Fairy is clearly a dubs type, and therefore we want the winner of the gym to be the person with the best skill in dubs.

I'm personally fine with that, you'll want to coordinate that with any other Fairy contenders out there.

I think I'm gonna put it out there that contenders for both the Water and the Fairy type gyms should be ready sometime in March, perhaps near the end of it to begin qualifiers. This should give you all more than enough time.
 
Oh yeah the other thing:
How will e4 and Champion work? There's been some discussion about this on IRC, and we wern't able to reach an agreement, so just putting it out there.
I'll edit in my coments later, just wanna get this subject out there.

I think it is about time to deal with this subject since we are approaching having a large enough number of gyms to make this viable. I am personally supportive of just having a vote among badgeholders with the existing gym leaders as candidates and the ability for gym leaders to express a lack of interest in being promoted. Trainers who reach a certain number of badges can challenge the E4. People who beat all members of the E4 become Champion. If there is a sitting Champion, they have to beat the current Champion in battle to take the seat. Or something. We're a long way away from needing to deal with the Champion's mechanics.

The problem with this is what to do with people who hold the badges of promoted gyms and leaders and whether these would count for the badge count needed to challenge the Elite Four. On this I think they should, because presumably that gym would be really hard to beat, making it justified. It would also give a perk to sitting E4 members on a quest to become Champion.

That's fine and all, but I don't think someone can be a member of the Elite Four and the Champion as well... would we replace the E4 who became Champ? And what if he subsequently gets defeated and finds himself unable to return to his previous E4 spot? Some E4 may be discouraged to try and become Champions just because of this.

The gym committee has been and will continue to be monitoring the progress of a potential Elite Four, and will implement it at such a time as we feel a reasonable course of action can be undertaken.

Assuming not until explicitly stated...

If the E4 member doesn't want to be Champion, they don't go for it. If they did get it, they would be replaced under the same conditions as an E4 member leaving for other reasons.

The issue with having an E4+Champ is that only trainers with a good number of badges would be able to challenge them (IAR, Frosty...). Basically, if you're E4, you just sit there and look good and wait. And you thought the in-game E4 were kidding when they said "I've been waiting for someone like you".

A possible way to deal with the E4 is to let the gym leaders lead their gyms while being E4s simultaneously--as such, they are still being challenged by people, while holding the lofty rank of E4. Their E4 battle would also have to be different from their gym battle, like maybe making them use Pokemon of different types and battling in ASB Arena. Of course, this completely discards in-game precedent, but with 18 Gyms being put into ASB all with Arenas, we're really doing that already anyways.

Another option is a tougher arena for an E4 battle.

Under this idea, sitting E4s would be able to become the champion if they were good enough, while retaining their Gyms and E4 seats.

Also, under this idea, it is quite possible for someone without a gym (hintEMMAhint) to become an E4.
