Pokémon Black 2 and White 2 (DS, June in JP, Fall in EU/NA/AU) - Updated May 12th

I'm going on the assumption that Kyurem will lose the Ice-type and gain Fire or Electric. Seems more logical than losing the Dragon-type all together. Since, you know, he is referred to as a dragon all the time etc etc.

Edit: Even if you compare the situation to Rotom and his forms, it's important to note that Rotom is Electric/Ghost and loses it's subtype, not main type, when changing forms. And Kyurem is Dragon/Ice.

@ Katakiri

I actually love that explanation (though extremely obnoxious...) and I have higher hopes for Dragon/Electric and Dragon/Fire now.

I kinda see a problem with Kyurem changing form.

When Kyurem changes form its implied it absorbs energy from Zekrom/Reshiram. Now its just speculation until we see how it changes, but being able to change into one form means it should have the capability to turn into the other in both games. Meaning both Reshiram and Zekrom are still part of the story. So why bother making 2 different games?

I'm interested to see how GF'll handle this.

Excellent argument, but I reckon that it'll be Dragon/Ice. It obviously has to be a dragon, since that's what makes it legendary (or at least that's how it's seemed to work for the last 2 generations). It's also going to be Ice because its (allegedly) new signature moves are both Ice type, and I've never seen a pokemon with a major signature move that wasn't STAB.
Also, I'd personally prefer to see a Dragon/Ice with Zekrom/Reshiram's stats than Zekrom/Reshiram's typing with Kyurem's stats. (Although I'd like Ice/Electric and Ice/Fire even more, but I doubt that will happen.)
Well I guess any speculation is game right now.

Its still covered in physical Ice..... just powered up. It's signature moves are Ice.

And don't even anyone think of it losing Dragon, it's the core type.

Unlike the dimension trio, everyone calls these guys dragons. The legendary dragons of Unova.

I'm still saying there will either be a secondary type switching in the middle of battle (via ability or after using moves...) but staying Dragon/Ice.

The stats are really obvious IMO.
Its missing 20, and its attacks are 130, while the other 2 have 150 in their better Attack. Since the formes will obviously follow the physical/special focus jsut add the 20:
Black: 125 - 150 - 90 - 130 - 90 - 95
White: 125 - 130 - 90 - 150 - 90 - 95

Well it's implied that Kyurem is absorbing the power of N's Reshiram/Zekrom which is why the version legendaries reversed from BW1. N took a different legend in each game, so having 2 games makes sense. Black 2 continues the story of Black basically. Since you caught one of the legendaries in BW, I'm gonna guess that you can only get 1 form of Kyurem per game. I highly doubt that Hilda or Hilbert are going to let you borrow their Zekrom/Reshiram's power. It would be like Red making an in-game trade with Ethan.

The real question is why N lets Kyurem take Resh/Zek's (I'm tired of typing them both) power. ..Damn, BW really is the first time anyone's cared about story in Pokemon... Good job, GF.

@ Charon

Pretty much everything you said was covered on page 45.

The ice is Kyurem's actual body. Like I said before, appearance has little to nothing to do with typing. (Blastoise would be Water/Steel, Charizard would be a Dragon, & Regigigas would be a Grass-type)

"Secondary-typing" is a fan term. Placement of typing means nothing.

It wouldn't make sense from a game-play perspective if Kyurem's forms have better stats than Kyurem, Zekrom, AND Reshiram. (Which those 20 Base Stat Points would do) Zekrom, Reshiram, & Kyurem already have a balance in stats with Kyurem being the the fastest with the most HP, Reshiram having the highest Sp.Atk & Sp.Def, & Zekrom having the highest Attack & Defense. Without that Black & White Kyurem would just be...well, Reshiram & Zekrom with an altered move-pool & better HP/Speed. The missing 20 is most likely due to balancing for pretty obvious reasons. Believe it or not, but GF actually does try to balance the game.

^Either N willingly gives up his dragon to Kyurem, Ghetsis steals N's dragon, or Kyurem actively seeks out N's dragon. I doubt that Hilbert or Hilda would let the new player borrow their dragon, because that's basically like letting Red trade his Charizard to Ethan or something, like Katakiri said.

Some more pictures I received through an email/newsletter. Does anybody here know how to read Japanese? Please translate, maybe there's some good info here.

Guys, please remember. You don't know the typing for sure. It hasn't been released. I just saw the entire last page and a half of people basically saying that they know the typing for sure.
Please, remember that you are speculating. These are not facts. Keep it straight, please.

You seem to be pretty sure of yourself katakiri. Interesting idea about the canvas though we don't know if thats what GF is thinking. I noticed that no form change has ever lost its primary typing(the one listed first) wormdam or rotom both kept there primary typing. Kyurem's is Dragon and I'm not sure that they'll make two more fire/electric dragons, it just seems kind of repetitive. Kyurem could just be absorbing reshiram or zekrom's energy/DNA and using Fire/Electricty as a power source to generate it's own "Freezing Energy" from the pokedex.

Wow the first pic strongly hints that Black and White Kyurem would have Electric and Fire-typing, respectively! The second image does re-emphasize that Kyurem is the strongest Dragon-type, so I believe that Katakiri's assumption of Dragon / Electric and Dragon / Fire is accurate :d

As for other information, if I read correctly, the tickets for the movie / Keldeo promo is sold on April 14th - July 13th. Keldeo would be offered in exchange for the tickets between June 23rd - August 31st. Keldeo can only be transferred to Black, White, Blacks 2, or White 2.

Nah, they'll be Bug/Ground, just wait and watch!

Seriously though, let's just sit back and wait. JAP release is less than 3 months away, not need to get too worked up!

Argh, I accidentally the whole thing here and lost half an hour worth of writing. So whatever. Does anyone here think they won't have Teravolt/Turboblaze? I *really* want them to have Snow Warning (fuck this, Kyurem freezes everything on its surroundings and summons a snowstorm in Giant Chasm...), but I know it's massive wishful thinking and those tails of theirs CLEARLY give off energy like Resh/Zek's, so is there any room left for speculation there, besides "lol new abilities"?

I mean

Teravolt/Turboblaze suck

Snow Warning'd be so much better

so

desperately

much

If they're Dragon/[Fire/Electric], the Mold Breaker clones IMO would be better since it would let them break through stuff they couldn't otherwise, just like Zek and Resh.

If they ARE Dragon/Ice, then yeah, Snow Warning would be soooooo much better.

I still wonder if THESE Kyurems will be provided with enough stuff to be Uber, lol. They can't possibly fuck up Kyurem THREE TIMES. Right? Right? RIGHT?

sorry both are now ice/fire, the ability is now hustle, and he inexplicably becomes slower and defensively weaker

True, even Zekrom is Ice/Fire, it has definitely been confirmed, although I actually thought that the ability was truant... I guess my source was a little unprecise huh? I also read that in the new games the Ice type will have three more weaknesses, which is awesome for the new formes to be thrown in the metagame. Can't wait! (trololololo-)

I'm surprised at their decision to make ice weak to poison, but I feel it will really shake things up
