Pokémon Black/White in-game discussion

What more do you need besides Agility, MM, EQ, and Explosion/filler really? Well that and you can't access any elemental punch to compliment him since those are Gen 3-4 exclusives...
i thought metagross couldn't learn MM as a metagross, only as a metang....

That's true; his staple moves are still really good. I run Agility/Zen Headbutt/MM/Earthquake. It's just that he doesn't have anything beyond that haha

Was wandering around Crater Forest earlier today trying to find a way to get into Kyurem's hideout when BAM! I unknowingly run into a shaking spot and out comes a Metagross. Caught it (took like 15 balls) after some False Swiping/T-wave and it's a Naughty one with a 30 Attack IV :) In the process of preparing it for competitive battle right now; I've never realised how shallow its movepool is though.

what is this i dun even--

I got reminded of the wild Unfezant I found while Audino-grinding Joltik. Joltik criticalled Unfezant and killed it. As punishment, I kicked it off the team.

LOL

I remember grinding the fuck out of my Joltik against Tranquills; made life so much easier.

Almost done EVing Metagross, his stats at level 72 are 290 Attack and 259 Defence :)

he didn't object due to his timid nature.

not like I cared, Zekrom is the best electric type, hands down.

always have issues getting past that first column...
I'm told you need all the Arceus plates, and also need to take pretty much the shortest route (no detours) for it to move.

Honestly, I think the whole area is one of those things they put in games that they know people almost certainly won't solve unless they've bought a strategy guide.

Looks like as far as exploring goes, I only have Giant Chasm and Challenger's Cave left to loot :(

Got all the high-selling treasure items, Big Nugget, Pearl String, etc... I guess all that's left to find after this are my missing TMs. Then it's time to do Battle Subway until I can get all the Power items and Choice items etc.

On an unrelated note, the Pokedroid Android app has been updated with Unova Pokemon! I actually prefer this Dex to Serebii's.

Just a random note: Clefairies in Giant Chasm can hold Comet Shard. I know, I had one on my old file. Sold the 2 comet shards for a sizable amount of dough.

CompoundFrisk ftw

As far as I'm aware all you need to do is make it to the centre without retracing any steps or turning around. Then use Flash and it should be all good. If you turn around or go over a tile you've already stepped on, you won't be able to get down to the next level.

So I've finally decided to try my hand at training a legendary...What one should I start with? I think I want one of the Musketeer trio, but I think you have to get them in a certain order, don't you? If so, what order? >_>

No. you only get a specific amount of steps. So you are allowed to turn around once, but just keep below the limit(i don't know it exactly)

You can double-step and turn around all you want, as long as you stay within the 500 steps limit.

I hate all the Tranquills and Unfezants in the 6th gym, spamming Detect like bitches (and for some reason they always work 3 times in a row).

This. After 500 steps you get kicked out of the ruins so it takes 2-3 trips to get all treasures on the first floor then enter through the west entrance as that uses the shortest amount of steps to get to the pillar. The next two floors will take another 2-3 trips each then just start one final trip from the west entrance taking the shortest route possible to reach the final floor for the last treasure. It will only take about an hour at most with a guide (use the ones on gamefaqs).

Is Cottonee / Whimsicott worth using at all? I love it's design, but I'm not sure if such a purely supportive mon is viable in-game.

Is it me or after the elite four (and the N thing and all) all of my pokes are terribly underleveled?

Theyre like lvl 53 to battle lvl 65 bros. gee i cant follow (oh and i also got raped by cynthia).

People ask this all the time. Many of the Trainers have high-levelled NFEs, so you can still beat them, even if you are sent scurrying to the Pokemon Centre after every battle.

Cynthia's another matter, and I think it was a bit of a dick move by Game Freak putting here where she is. But once you've done the whole rest of the postgame, you should then be strong enough to beat her.

Strategery guide doesn't help. It only has a map of the first floor and doesn't tell you what the items are. Most people are going to want http://pokemon.marriland.com/black_white/walkthrough/postgame/undella_bay.

1st floor: You need to have talked to two red pillars on this save (as in, if you've saved and turned off the game you need to do it again).

2nd floor: Flash

3rd floor: Strength

I absolutely loved it.

I haven't been challenged by a pokemon game since the original blue all those years ago.

When I nearly got my ass kicked by that first trainer, I was pretty dang happy, because I actually had to use tactics for once.

B/W was much more enjoyable then any other version for me because of that challenge (First phase Elite 4 aside...weaklings)
