Haha, I really used to hate Koromori, like really hate it. It's sort-of grown on me, though. Gearu was a candidate before I saw it's sprite, too, haha.

Anyone else think the detailed backgrounds we saw back in January are kaput? Every screenshot we've seen since then has been the same generic motion-blurred crap we've been getting since Gen IV. D:

Doryuuzu (if is Moguryu's evo) and Desukan. And maybe Rankurusu. I would use Koromoron, but his depressing face turned that impossible.

There is nothing depressing about Koromori
he is all happy all the time!


Wait did you seriously just fling doubt at Doryuuzu being Moguryu's evo
 
1 month = 1 season.
January, May, and September = Spring.
February, June, and October = Summer.
March, July, and November = Fall.
April, August, and December = Winter.

Assuming they'd do the intelligent thing and go with first month = first season.

Oh yeah, and I'm using any Pokemon I meet. I'm not planning a team because between the different times, routes, and seasons, the Pokemon are too dynamic.

Koromoron's happiness makes me sad and anger. Really. That face annoys. He is just too ugly. He reminds me Billy from ''Billy and Mandy'' somewhat.

I am 3% convinced that Doryuuzu isn't Moguryu's evo (GF can make it to annoy, just like Shellos/Lapras).

Anyway, did somebody saw Pokejungle new rumors? They said that Kurumiru's evo can be Bug/Flying. I hope that is only a rumor.

Not surprised, really. If Kurumiru really is this gen's starting bug (which I think it will be), it would make sense since most of the starting bugs turn out that way upon evolution. I still think Bug/Grass is a terrible, terrible typing, so I'm not too sad.

Worse than Bug/Flying? No.
 
It seems like there's too much emphasis on the leaf to not be Bug/Grass, which is a horrible typing, but it's not like it was going to be competitively viable anyway . . . And we have a crapton of friggin butterflies already.
 
Kurumeal WAS confirmed as Bug/Grass. Though I suppose it won't necessarily stay that way during evolution, which would suck.

I think it's still too early for me to judge what I want to use in the game, though I almost surely will pick Tsutarja as my starter.
 
This generation is looking to be awesome so far, but there's one thing that I would be absolutely ecstatic for: TWO. MORE. ALLOTABLE. EVs. I'd go crazy for even more, but Game Freak... just make it an even multiple of four so you don't just have 2 EVs that sit around going HURF DURF USELESS.
 
My team's probably gonna be something like Tsutarja, Chillarmy, Mamepeto, Shimama, and some other things that can be found reletively early in the game. I'm not sure I'll actually use Reshiram when I get it unless I find out that one of my other Pokemon has become useless. I'm gonna try to only plan out 5 of my team members before I actually get the game so I can just catch a Pokemon that I come across.

Edit: @Numbuh 214: You want to be able to invest in Evasion and Accuracy because those are the only stats that you can't invest in, ATM. If they keep the 510 maximum, all walls will invest completely in HP and Evasion and sweepers will have to choose between (Sp)Atk, Spe, and Accuracy. Also, the reason they have the 510 maximum is so you can max out 2 stats completely and 255 is the highest number that you can put in one byte. If they made it any smaller, it wouldn't change anything and if they made it bigger, they would have to use more data to store the stats.

Rumor 1: Starter Evolution names. I’ve listed in parentheses how the names could be derived.

  • Pokabu -> Hiiton (heat + Ton=Pig) -> Fureiboa (flare boar)
  • Mijumaru -> Rakkonosuke (Sea otter + boy’s name ) -> Umiemon (sea + ??)
  • Tsutaaja -> Hanaaja (flower snake) -> Moriija (forest snake)
Rumor 2: Possible new pokemon that they saw

  • Konotateha - Camouflage Pokemon – Bug/Flying > Poster said its wings look like dead leaves and also speculated it could be the final stage of Kurumiru. [I'd be devastated if it loses its part grass typing ;_;]
  • Jogatto – Trick Pokemon – Steel > Poster said it looks like a box that Giaru/Gear comes out of, looks kind of antique-ish

Almost surely false. The names all suck except for the one gem, "Umiemon". Whoever made that name really knew their stuff. An "-emon" suffix was logical after seeing Miju/Rakkomaru and Rakonosuke.

I will be disappointed if Kurumeal turns out Bug/Flying, though.
 
It would be nice for Kurumeal to turn into some terrestrial bug pokemon instead of the Flying/Bug type that it's destined to be. That way it could keep its unique (Albeit not too good) typing. I always wanted something akin to a non-bipedal Stag, Hercules, or Goliath beetle.

I wouldn't say it's AWFUL typing, but I guess it's not mindblowingly amazing. Parasect just kinda sucks beyond Spore, albeit we have no reason to believe Kurumeal will be any different (especially since it probably won't even get Spore).

As typical as it would be, I'm hoping for a three-stage caterpillar -> cocoon -> bug Pokemon. Another beetle of some sort could be cool, beetles do pupate I think...
