Pokemon Black and White (SPECULATIONS ALLOWED HERE)

Every time I see a new monkey Pokemon, I cross my fingers for a huge gorilla evolution...and every time I'm disappointed :(

(Chimchar had so much potential to evolve into a huge flaming gorilla but then he evolved into...Chimchar with a breastplate...sigh)

This could end up being your Fire Gorilla. I think he could evolve into another stage.

I would suggest that only Leaf Trap OR Stealth Rock could be playable at once, forcing you to choose what to counter.

And speaking of new Grass moves, can we have a Grass-type Pursuit, please? DOWN WITH BULKY WATERS.

yanappu looks a little like a troll to me. a grass type infernape is the only good i could see coming from this one. (assuming its a good thing...)

Wasn't he last stage?

We only know Hihidaruma isn't first stage (due to Darumakka), but we don't know its complete evolutionary line yet.

I would say it's likely it's going to evolve again (it did seem really small in a triple battle video), but since the Cherrim debacle, I don't hold out much hope for any pokémon on this matter.

Yeah, who ever thinks BroccoliMonkey and Ambipom/ Aipom don't have at least a (very substantial) passing resemblance is high off their ass.

Where did his broccoli head go? His ears? His leaf-like tail? His hands? His feline-like mouth? These are all very distinguishable features.

Anyways, I think it is really cool how Gamefreak is designing Pokemon specific to strategies. It makes me wonder if Wild Bolt will give Shimama a Motor Drive boost (we did see him take recoil in the video, but he might have had Lightningrod?). Regardless, if Swords Dance remains a TM, it could be a decent little sweeper. I could definitely see it evolving.

Instead of a Grass-type Stealth Rock, we should get a Grass-type move that slows the Speed of the opposing Pokemon by 12.5% if weak to Grass, 6.25% if neutral, and 0% if resisted. I've always imagined a bunch of vines preventing progress of the other Pokemon (similar to Frenzy Plant in the anime), thus slowing them down. Maybe I'm just a huge fan of Grass-types, but I'd love to see it.

we need some other type of entry hazard, hopefully it'll balance out SR. and yes aipom/ambipom does look like yanappu. does it really matter? when do pure normal turn to pure anything else?

If anything, this reduction would come as stages. -2 if weak to Grass, -1 if neutral, 0 if resisted, and maybe +1 if a Grass-type.

I'm okay with this, as it's not a SR clone as so many people suggest and think would be not only a good idea, but something Game Freak would actually do.

"when do pure normal turn to pure anything else?"

Azurill -> Marrill. :P

And is it just me or does anyone else LOVE all the Grass types introduced this gen? I am definitely using Tsutaja, Shikijika, and Yanapu on my team!

Maybe instead of introducing a new entry hazard (though I would love a few new ones), GF could alter stealth rock so that it disappears after 3 or 4 pokemon switch into it, and the player would have to set up a new layer. That would totally destroy suicide leads.

But so many pokémon resist to Grass. Maybe it can do something to the resistants.

Am I the only one who thinks that this brocoli Pokemon looks more like a mouse than a monkey?
Looks more a koala.

That actually sounds like a pretty good idea. There are plenty of entry hazards as is >_>

Particularly @Chateau
This.
Not arguing, just wanted to get the point across that the grass monkey and Aipom/Ambipom look alike.

Ahh yes, that would be a good idea. I think it would be a really powerful move in its own right.

I also love the variety of Pokemon that we've seen so far:

Grass: Tsutaja, Shikijika, Kurumiru, Yanappu
Fire: Pokabu, Hihidaruma, Victini, Reshiram
Water: Mijumaru, Mamanbou, Swana
Normal: Chillarmy, Mamepato, Minezumi, Miruhoggu, Wooguru
Psychic: Munna, Musharna, Rankurusu, Gochiruzeru, Koromori, Victini
Steel: Gear
Flying: Mamepato, Koromori, Wooguru, Emonga, Swana
Electric: Shimama, Emonga, Zekrom
Ground: Meguroko, Moguryu
Dark: Meguroko, Zorua, Zoroark
Dragon: Kibago, Reshiram, Zekrom
Rock: Gigaiasu
Bug: Kurumiru

I mean, I usually like to have a Flying, Water, Fire, and Grass Pokemon on my team. Just from this list I know it is already possible.

Too bad they don't, outside of being monkeys.

Really, it's not that hard to see the obvious differences. They are bound to look somewhat similar because they are based off the same animal, but outside of that they couldn't look any more different from each other without being different animals (like Chateau said).

Wow. And these are only the ''officially'' revealed.

I didn't really like the monkey at first, especially when they came out with the toy variant a while ago. It's grown on me, though, and I think it looks pretty cute. It'll probably be part of a 2-stage evolution like Aipom (Considering they're fairly similar). Abusing berries sounds real fun with this guy, and I can imagine both Acrobat, Fake Out, and U-Turn to be staples on any of his sets (Taking into consideration that it'll get the last two moves).

Sorry, I haven't been keeping up with the news... But you mention berries; is Acrobat affected by the held berry/ item?

Its power (Acrobat's) is doubled when the user isn't holding an item. The broccoli monkey's ability is Gluttony, so you could more easily abuse the move while gaining a stat boost or you could just use Focus Sash (since Focus Sash is consumed upon use).
