Chimchar, Aipom and Yanappu have...similar...ears? I guess.
What're you guys talking about, monkeys? I see no correlation between any of these.

Of course it is, all the monkey pokemon get U-Turn and Fake Out except for Primeape, who at least gets U-Turn. And yeah he looks quite a bit like Aipom but that just means he's likely the same species of monkey or whatever, like chimchar is a chimpanzee etc.

Different hands, different feet, different tail, different eyes and mouth, different body shape (Aipom is rounder). The ears are the only real similarity, outside of them both being monkeys.
It's a monkey.
Monkeys have long tails, small bodies & big ears (well, in GameFreak's world, anyway; almost every Monkey pokemon here has had huge ears)
Their hands, arms, legs, head, face and tail endings are all massively different, color scheme aside (since that's the most immediate difference)

Of course their features aren't identical, but you can't honestly tell me there's no blatant similarities in their designs.

- main colour (green/purple) in pretty much the same places
- very similar faces (beige part is shaped the same, round eyes, no nose)
- similar shaped feet

"It's a monkey" doesn't mean anything because if you look at the Mankey/Chimchar lines they actually have differences that make them stand out from other monkey pokes. Also I don't think Aipom's body is rounder, it just looks that way because of its pose.

I'm really tired of those similar monkey designs...there are so many types of monkeys but nintendo keeps doing those cute monkeys...
Still the evolution of this monkey can be good, but I think they should make something like vigoroth, even though slaking is ugly.

Anyway, gluttony by itself is a pretty crappy ability so I hope it gets other moves to abuse early berry consumption.

Thief(or Covet or Knock Off) + Acrobat. That sounds good if his stats are enough to pull it of.

I always hoped he'd be real, it looks like GF are finally starting to do new things with the grass type, as he and the deer are the only grass-types based on mammals (well, except Leafeon). I think Dento has a decent chance of using the Bug/Grass type, the Normal/Grass deer, and the monkey.
I heard somewhere that the monkey will belong to someone in the anime. If it belongs to Dento, so his gym is Grass-type.
I wish they would introduce only a Grass entry hazard, a counterpart to Stealth Rock, with only one able to be up at a time. Grass and Rock complement each other well, a lot of the things weak to Stealth Rock (Fire, Flying, Bug) would resist Leaf Trap or whatever they called it. That only leaves Steels resistant to both.
Every time I see a new monkey Pokemon, I cross my fingers for a huge gorilla evolution...and every time I'm disappointed :(
(Chimchar had so much potential to evolve into a huge flaming gorilla but then he evolved into...Chimchar with a breastplate...sigh)

Yeah, none of this is true. The only similiarity is that they are monkeys, and have monkey-like features. I'm usually the one complaining about unoriginality, but they couldn't have made Yanappu less like Aipom without changing his species.
Oh and Yanappu has a TREE on his head. I think they cut that out of Aipom's design.
That would be good for Yanmega and his fellows. Their lifes are so difficult.
Anyway, what is needed is a Poison-type (not T-spikes) SR variant that works on the opposite way of Stealh Rock: Dealing more damage if the foe resists to Poison (Steel is immune, so 25%). Unlike T-spikes, it cannot be aabsorved. And only handful Poison-types (Swalot, Venomoth, Skuntank) would use it.
