@BloodGod22 When it leaked first, we only had a plastic figure most people called Nezumidori(nezumi+midori, rat+green) and it looked a lot fatter than the actual thing(and not like a monkey for that matter)

Sadly it's looking this way, I hear Flare Blitz all the time. I think people don't even care about the recoil off it's poor HP base. That would be Flareon's biggest wish, if anything.
 
i am sorry but no move or ability is gonna make flareon a good pokemon, it sucks hard, plain and short.


acrobat look interesting and something crobat would probably get for obvious reasons.

Even if it sucks on Crobat and it does get it, what a nice play of words when you see 'Crobat used Acrobat' :P, that is assuming the english name stays the same, not something like 'Gymnastic' lol.

... But Flareon sucks because it's movepool sucks. So giving it a better movepool, a great STAB, or a better ability WOULD actually make it better. See how that works?
 
no, it sucks because of its horrible stats and typing, movepool can be easily fixed with flare blitz but its low hp dont help taking the recoil(stats) and being weak to SR(typing) also help cutting its hp even further.


to put it short unless gamefreak completely fix flareon 120% it will still suck. and that would need a change in STATS, typing and a new super ability, what gamefreak bar the later never do.

Its distribution of stats is what sucks even more, unfortunately. It tries to do too much, and it comes off mediocre in all aspects (Wall-breaking, pure special, pure physical, support). It has 130 base Attack and 95 base Special Attack, which would be great for a wall breaker. However, its pathetic base 65 Speed and 65 HP, along with 60 Defense make it slow and frail. 110 Special Defense is nice, but Fire-types still hate Surf, and being weak to Stealth Rock takes away from its ability to tank Special Attacks. If its Speed were switched with its Special Defense and its Special Attack was switched with HP then more people would be in favor of Flare Blitz. A Fire-type priority attack would be nice, but I don't see how Arcanine would not get it. I don't really care, there are a lot more cool Fire-types than Flareon, but whatever.
 
the way i see it, just give him flare blitz or fire fang or some stab physical move. im not saying make flareon ultra good. just give him a physical stab move. and i think people forget that low stats can be helped, bar HP, with baton pass.

No, it sucks because it has absolutely the worst possible distribution of stats in combination with its type. If it got Flare Blitz, it'd 2HKO itself from the recoil. If it got Rock Head as an ability (which there's absolutely zero chance of happening, btw), along with Flare Blitz, it would be outsped and KO'd by pretty much everything important. Sure, it might KO Bronzong or something, but literally anything that would be classed as a sweeper outspeeds and KOs, since it has terrible defenses (I know it has 110 SpD, but that's made up for by its crap HP). Not to mention that it's losing 25% of its HP every time it switches in (assuming SR is as prevalent in BW as it is now).

EDIT: @above: Flareon already has Fire Fang. It's shit. And why BP to it when there are far superior sweepers that don't require it, and far better BP recipients, such as Octillery, Marowak, Rampardos, etc.

Up with Flareon again? when did the Flare Blitz hype start anyway(I can't seem to remember exactly), wheny they thought Flare Blitz was programmed into Magmortar/Electivire? not gonna repeat what many said, so consider it said.
 
Flareon is really not as bad off as you guys say. Simply giving Flareon Agility, Earthquake, a strong Grass move, and a strong non-recoil good accuracy fire move does wonders for it. If they give Fire a priority move (which it very well should have) then Flareon could potentially dish out worlds of hurt. Flareon's special defense is only potentially wrekced by Water pokemon or Pokemon with Earth Power.

After an Agility it will outrun every pokemon. Even after Stealth Rocks, a Bullet Punch from Scizor can't kill this pokemon, it would require an Aqua Jet, Choice Scarf Flygon, or other scarfed Pokemon with the ability to OHKO after Stealth Rocks. Seeing as how there are no other viable Fire type abilities for Flareon to inherit, I'm going to assume that it gains Encourage. I'm also going to assume that Technican increases its Base Power to the same degree that Technican does. This would mean that Flame Wheel is now at 90 before STAB. So even without a new fire physical STAB, Flareon has a 90 STAB attack. Flareon still has some interesting options outside of this, such as being able to Baton Pass the agility away, but this would only make Flareon solidly UU. There are too many pokemon in OU who could take the hit and deal some back, and Swampert ruins any chances of Baton Passing.

what is letting flareon setup a agility? SR is already 25% of hp, plus some random move hittting flareon is already more then 50% if not a ko outright.
 
There are a lot of Pokemon that Flareon could set up on. In OU, Blissey, Umbreon, and Dusknoir are all good examples. I'm unfamiliar with UU, but I'm sure there are certain walls that Flareon could force a switch.
 
dusk? he dont fear flareon at all, ohkoing with EQ and not being ohkoed by flare blitz, bliss can be argued since you either get para, at -1(superpower) or suicided(flare blitz)

same for umbreon who can yawn you, and who the fuck use the later 2 anyway?


this discussion is stupid, flareon sucks and will always suck, i can argue over a evolution for all eevolutions though.
 
Why are you talking about Flare blitz? Who cares about Flare Bltiz, I'm talking about having an entirely new STAB and the ability Encourage (which is very likely). I already said that Flareon wouldn't be useful in OU anyway.

i'm continuing to love this thing.. and i'm hoping it turns more into a big broc-monster.. rather than a ambipom looking thing.

A lot of the pokemon look like they have the same caliber of power and potential as Plusle and Minun. Interesting and fun.. but worthless in the long run
