Hey guys, I might be a bit random compared to the current discussion, and it might have alrdy been discussed before but... what do you think about the encourage ability?(or w/e will it be called) The ability that negates 2nd effects but boosts power of moves.
I believe that it will all depend on the movesets they get, as it can be very crippling, or very OP... i.e. :
dynamic punch, sacred fire, zap canon, all moves like thunder fire blast with status inducing secondary effects and flinching move won't be as good with this ability
but it could be OP with those moves! Imagine if instead of lowering sp atk 2 stages draco meteor, overheat and psycho boost would get a boost in dmg instead? In the same idead, close combat and superpower wouldnt lower your stats either.
some other moves that could get decent benefit from it could be (if the side effects are considered secondary effects by the means of the ability description are : take down, double edge (recoil moves) outrage, petal dance, trash (self status inducing moves) hyper beam/giga impact (recharge move?) hi/jump kick w/o getting damaged by missing?
Anyways, I'm really eager to see new content about this ability, wether the boost will be of help, what moves it will affect (mostly will it make u-turn a lesser x scissor or it will still be viable for scouting w/ that ability?) and the pokemons+movesets that will benefit from it ^^
