I like what they're doing with the sprites. Good action poses and what not. Definitely a step above what they did in Emerald. Every pokemon looked like they were dancing in Emerald.
 
I like how the back sprites are now animated upon switching in. Now if they could just give each individual sprite an attacking animation, like they do in the console games...
 
I'm not sure about all of you, but did anyone notice that Electivire is on Flint's side and Magmortar is on Volkner's side. Shouldn't it be the other way round?

Unless of course, they don't belong to them

"Reserve Platinum"? I don't like that. Could it mean only the reserved copies will have access to these new pokémon/forms?
 
I like how Magmortar's attack came from his cannon. I'm sure it's coincidence but it was still cool.

EDIT: I doubt they would do that. It might be that only reserved copies get the info on them.

EDIT2: Some helpful person at Serebii pointed out that the Electivire and Magmortar battle is not the same as Flint and Volkner's, as it has a wifi symbol on it. 2vs2 wifi.

It probably means that this pokemon are event pokemon, so they can only be obtained through the live event (?), but not in-game, hopefully USA does this giveaway too.
 
i dont think they would do that but i already reserved my copy of Platinum anyways. :D

Edit: if anyone wants to do the same you can use this site as its very reliable and they'll have Platinum right when it comes out.
 
Has anyone consider them be badges of some sort?

The only reason I think of this is because there are 5 battle facilities, and it would take about a couple days to beat E4, and give them time to release them.

Though just a thought.
 
Just wanted to say that all of the new sprites, especially Lucario's, look incredibly awesome. This looks like it's going to be incredible, not just an obligatory third game done for the hell of it. The faster surfing speed in particular makes me think they actually paid attention to what the players want!
 
I'm pretty surprised with the new Surfing. It's WAY faster than Advance's. When I read some posts about it here, I thought it was like Fire Red, not... like SS Anne.

Overall it looks like a much better game than d/p to my surprise. Will there even be a reason to get d/p after platinum?
 
Well, I suppose they could always muck up Platinum's RNG ala R/S to Emerald. Some people also theorize you'll get into a double battle with Dialga and Palkia and have to choose which one to catch. Then again, some people also think you'll get to go to Johto. So yeah, Platinum will most likely make D/P obsolete so to speak. They'll probably have a couple 4th gen Pokémon that you can't catch in Platinum, but that's true for whatever game you buy, and trading's ridiculously easy now.
 
Lucario, Electivire, Magmortar sprites are all awesome..can't wait to see the other sprites and Platinum itself with the return of the "battle factory" <3.

I always thought Slaking's d/p sprite picking its nose is a change and something funny..but it could use a nasty/mean-looking sprite. Like standing up with hand up in air or about to pound something.
 
Infernape looks great, and so does Lucario.

Why am i so damn excited about the new sprites? I desperately want to see them all. The D/P sprites are for the most part boring and lifeless, and some are inexcusably dumb, like gaywad Machamp, pencilneck Charizard, still-in-the-same-retarded-adv-pose Skarmory, shocked Heracross, and check-out-my-gonads Flygon. Handstand Vaporeon is a crime that should be punishable by death.

Some pokemon look their best in D/P though, especially Gengar, Arcanine and Moltres. Hope they don't put the old GF 'fix' on them.

Er, was this really necissary? Most trades over the GTS take less than a day to complete, unless you're trying to trade something really unpopular, like Uxie or Parasect.

2.) The videos you make with the Battle Recorder over Wi-Fi can be ranked somehow, in a feature called "Battle Video Ranking." The feature probably allows your friends and other players to rank your videos for the whole world to see. The magazine says you can check for popular videos and get your own videos ranked, so it is probably something like YouTube on your DS for Pokemon battles, with the most popular videos shown to players.

New Machamp is awesome. Gyarados is laughable and Snorlax is completely retarded.
