Once chou logs on I'm sure he could help translate. I feel bad though, I feel like I'm bothering him asking him so much questions about japanese.

http://pokemon.kids.yahoo.co.jp/platinum/library/

If you haven't gone on there, go now. We get to see Giratina fight Dialga as a video, not simply just a picture. Dialga's front animation is shown, as well as Giratina's back animation. They also said something about Giratina's speed and Carbos but my Japanese is extremely limited so it'd be nice if someone can translate it.

It's not loading for me for some reason :\

Secondly, some further details about the WiFi Room. Firstly, it appears you can only spend a certain amount of time in it each day.

Maybe this means they are trying to reduce lag (does DS Wi-Fi even lag?) which is allright I guess, but limited time a day sucks.

The map behind that video is the Platinum map, as evident by the revised Galactic Building in Veilstone City. Did anyone see anything interesting before the video loaded over the background?

It didn't load for me either. So I downloaded it via real player. Does youtube allow users to upload .flv files?

It loaded for me and I watched it, very cool :)

What was the attack Pachirisu used though? It looked like Seed Bomb...

How did Pachirisu get Seed Bomb... Does this confirm tutor moves? And I knew Croagunk's attack looked funky, I thought it was a new Sludge bomb.

Interesting video, I like how they worked in a random math lesson to tell me how Dialga's Roar of Time had 0 PP left lol. I see Dialga's level 50 outside of the battle as well (I don't think it was Wifi anyway because of the bar design) which means it was either traded from Diamond or else Dialga is caught at level 50 or lower in Platinum. Doesn't really mean anything most likely though.

I think any comment about Carbos and Speed could be that he used Carbos on the Giratina to raise its Speed above Dialga so it could pull of the Protect + Spite trick, which could imply Giratina keeps its base 90 Speed. However, this is just what I inferred from the happenings in the video; the only things I understood from the voice-over were the Pokémon names, "PP", and "Dragon Claw". So it's just speculation.

I'm going to upload the video. But in a fake account, I don't want my real account to get banned or infracted in any way for copyright issues.

It looks like it's from Diamond
It's captured at Level 47 at Spear Pillar, according to its memo (if you actually bothered pausing at this). It also noted that the Dialga wasn't caught on the same game that was showing its stats. Whether it may be another Platinum or Diamond I will not know for sure, but the OT of the Dialga strongly suggests it comes from Diamond.

If you are going to get platinum via rom, and a flashcart(R4), could you tell me via pm or post in this thread?

EDIT: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1QQ8JRQKRTU

That is the yahoo video that jibaku posted, but some people couldn't get it to load, so i RE-uploaded it.

Dislcaimer : Ricardokillerpimp is my fake alt, account

My name isn't really ricardo. Those of you people who are close to me should know my real name.
EDIT2: the video could still be processing.

EDIT: i take that back, after using a ruler to measure how much damage dialga took, giratina did about 12-13% to dialga with mudslap, that means its special attack is probably a lot higher, but also not much of a difference from another form because nuetral nature another forme has 108 attack at lv50 and it takes about 120 SA to do 12% damge to dialga with Mud slap, or he they are going to switch its defense with attack stats because another forme has 125 defense at lv 50. But he could just be using a really shitty sa and it could be higher. Also this is just a guess, damage % is random.

Also the fact that the speaker talks about using a carbos to out speed dialga further suggests that giratina's speed will remain 90.

@jujoumi: we can try since we can average how much damage giratina does to dialga and esitmate what kind of SA it needs to do that damage.

After watching how much damage Mud Slap did to dialga, i went to metalkids calc to try and figure out giratina's attack. I came up with something really surprising. First i estimated that dialga took about 5% or more damage so i entred dialga;s stats that they show in the video and did calculations by using the stat option and adjusting giratinas attack until the damage came to 5%. according to the calc, ether this guy had a really shitty giratina or giratina has a SA base stat of around 30. If you use 55 SA for giratina, it will do about 6-7% damage to dialga so Origion form giratina might be physically oriented.

Calcs can't help in figuring out the stat, since we don't know its ivs, its nature.

Hp stat on all "another formes" are the same. (wormadam/deoxys / etc) I thought everyone knew that.

But then again, gamefreak doesn't have to follow that rule forever.

In D/P the HP bar is a bit deceptive-when in reality you're at 50% the HP bar makes it seem like you have less. The same could apply to Platinum as well.

A better calc would be how much Outrage did to Dialga. Although the results still won't be accurate, the larger damage can help predict the base attack stat better. The video showed Outrage doing about or nearly 50% to Dialga (Dialga ate an Outrage after eating two mud slaps, but it isn't shown in the video. The video only showed the finishing blow. It looks unlikely that Giratina threw two Outrages at Dialga before the final hit considering its base power and Dialga's 126 Defense and 167 HP).

Either way all of these are simply speculations and there's nothing we can do about it until information is released. Whatever we can predict in the video is very inaccurate at the best.

I'm not sure about base stats, but from that fight we can assume

~ This Giratina can be used outside of the torn world
~ what moveset giratina will have after its capture

~ what moveset giratina will have after its capture
No, not really.

The Pokemon Festa 2008 video showed a Wild Origin Giratina using Shadow Force. If I were to take a guess:
1) Mud Slap, Outrage and Spite are all level up moves for Giratina. The thing said something about leveling and learning it naturally(translation needed)
2) Shadow Force is replaced by Protect. It is stated on the video that a TM was used to get it

i never thought of outrage as a possibility since giratina could kept mudslaping it but i think your right since after eating 2 mudslaps the speaker talks about using 120 base power outrage. Also 125 AT stat(not Base Stat) does do 41%-49% damage to dialga with outrage so i think its safe to assume they're just going to switch the stats like AninyOuse posted

The sprites look great, thanks for the vid juju. I wonder if Shoddy Battle will be using the new sprites from Platinum?

No, not really.

Thats what I meant

Shadow Force - Mud-slap - Spite - Outrage

I said what we could assume, not what we know as fact.

Your welcome Venom.

I don't think Mud-slap could have been tought via move tutor, but it could very well have been taught by MT. But they have to give them bad moves, and mud-slap isn't horrible, base 20 is bad, but the accruacy drop is helpful. Not that Mud-slap would be used competitively.
