Jirachi @ Leftovers
Impish
252 Hp/ 68 Atk/ 188 Def
-Wish
-Zen Headbutt
-U-Turn / Reflect / Stealth Rock
-Body slam

Made to take down frail physical sweepers, but can also come in on bulky ones such as Garchomp and cripple them with Body Slam. Now add to that the annoyance of Serene Grace, Body Slam and Zen Headbutt and you got a great Jirachi set. The third move-slot is up to you. U-turn lets you hit weavile hard and lets you scout. Reflect makes dealing with Garchomp much easier and Stealth Rock, well lets you set up Stealth Rock. Evs are set up like Eersnot's Jirachi set but despite what he said his Ev spread dosent guarantee a OHKO on Infernape with Zen Headbutt while mine does. The rest are dumped in Hp and Def.

Swampert @ Lum Berry/Leftovers
Impish?
-Earthquake
-Avalanch
-Stealth Rock
-Mirror Coat
252 HP/252 Def/4 Atk

As a lead? Lays down stealth rocks then does it's thing... could it work? My team kinda wants SR support... Special attacking leads get the mirror coat... ?

Seriously who uses Kanga? OK I made this set so Kanga could be a Sleep talker. It works best with wish support. 76 EV's give it 308 Att and 212 EV's in HP for maximun Lefties recovery. Rest in defense so you could survive physical hits. Or you could move those EV's in defense to SpDef so it could be a SpDef sleep talker. Avalanch is the best option over Ice Punch and works well with Hammer Arm's side effect. Hammer Arm vs. Earthquake is a matter of personal refrence. Both (with the other moves) hit 12/17 types. There is a difference between EQ and HA. Hammer Arm hits Ice, Normal, Steel, Rock and Dark while EQ hits Steel, Rock, Fire, Poison and Electricity.

Kangaskhan
Kangaskhan Tank
Adamant
~Avalanch
~Hammer Arm/Earthquake/Return
~Crunch
~Sleep Talk
Item: Leftovers
Ability: Scrappy
EV's: 212 HP, 76 Att, 220 Def

A Sleep Talk Kanga without Early Bird? You're wasting the main (only) reason to use her as a sleep absorber...

Well, I think he's making the sacrifice in order to hit ghosts 100% of the time...
And it gives him something snorlax can't do...

Anyways, kangaskahn is BL so it has to compete with snorlax, and avalance is something unique, and so is scrappy. Neat, but only so good.

kangaskahn is BL

Kanga is UU. Kanga doesn't need to worry about hitting Ghosts because Drifblim is the only UU Ghost that packs a sleep move. Early Bird is superior here. In OU however, Scrappy might be worth a shot so you can absorb sleep from Gengar and then hit him hard with Return, but enjoy your Focus Blast. :|

BL/UU espeWall

pokemon:Espeon
-Calm Mind
-Substitute/protect/shadow ball
-Morning sun/Wish
-Psychic
Nature:Calm
EVs 252 HP 252 S.Def 4 Speed

many options here for the move set. I have one with morning sun/sub and it catches many people off guard.

Amazing wall for BL and lower games :)

The Kanga was meant to take sleep from anything, but if a ghost switches in and Sleep Talk chooses Hammer Arm and you have Early Bird your free set up bait.

Cursenoir
Dusknoir @ Leftovers
Nature: Sassy
Evs: 252 HP / 252 Special Defense / 6 Attack
Curse
Rest
Sleep Talk
Shadow Punch / Night Shade / Payback / ThunderPunch

Curse works great with Dusknoir as it is similar a Perish Trapping set. However, in order for this set to work you'll need Mean Look, to of course prevent switching, to allow Curse to become remotely viable. That leaves 2 slots for healing or w/e else. I suggest Taunt/ Rest/ Pain Split/ Toxic/ Shadow Sneak/ Substitute/ or Night Shade. I personally would run a set like this...

Dusknoir @ Leftovers
Nature: xxx
Evs: 252 HP / xxx
Curse
Mean Look
Rest/ Toxic/ Taunt
Pain Split

It has been my experience that walls really love switching into Dusknoir. So knowing that I try to use it to my adavantage...

Physical Sweeper
12 HP/252 Attack/4 Def/240 speed @ Salac Berry
-Swords Dance
-Substitute
-Earthquake
-Seed Bomb

A Venusaur used as a lategame sweeper... works well both in OU and UU.
12 HP so Salac activates after 3 Subs, in this sandstorm filled metagame, I find it risky to sub down to 1-3 HP :/
You switch in on something that will switch out from you, and sub instantly. Depending whether the pokemon is slower or faster than you, you swords dance or keep on subbing respectively. After Salac, you're faster than most pokemon in the game (1 point faster than Weavile, to be exact ;>), and hopefuly you have gotten a swords dance in. If not, well, it will perform worse, but still quite decently. When I created the moveset, I was like... "Meh, it won't work..." but when I used it... it worked great! Just try it out yourself, if you won't be satisfied, we give you your money back!

Steelix + Claydol

Claydol doesn't matter as long as it has Trick Room, though it can carry Stealth Rock which could help in some close situations.

Steelix:

Adamant
Choice Band

- Gyro Ball
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge
- Explosion

So you set up a Trick Room, have Steelix strike first against basically everything and churn out 150 Power, 442 Attack Gyro Balls at whatever gets in the way. I haven't tested it myself (I'd like to keep my masculinity, so I don't use Steelix), but I'd think it'd work wonders. I mean, this is basically churning out a Giga Impact with 100% Accuracy that has no recharge, and all you've got to do is set up Trick Room. You're guaranteed at least two faints per game with Explosion.

The difference between this set and the one in the Smogon analysis, is basically Trick Room. Without it, loads of stuff can come in on you and start smashing you apart with special attacks.

"Old Man Heracross" is made to beat its usual counters.

Heracross - Guts
*Adamant* 248 HP / 252 Atk / 8 Spe
~ Megahorn
~ Close Combat
~ Stone Edge
~ Pursuit
@Choice Band

It's pretty much your standard CBCross with an alternative EV-spread.

With 8 Speed your outsped by Gliscor and Zapdos while you still will outrun the standard Cresselia. Roost temporarily disable the Flying type of a Pokemon while you Roost, and that's the beauty with this Heracross. The Flying type is basically what makes Zapdos, Gliscor, etc such a great counter for Heracross as they resist Megahorn and Close Combat, your two STAB moves. This will make Megahorn almost unresisted!

Damage calcs:

CB Megahorn on 252 HP/Def Gliscor while it Roosts:
195-229 damage (55.08% - 64.69%!)

This is a lot, and should keep Gliscor from Roosting as Gliscor eventually will be worn down even with Leftovers. It still takes 29% on average if it decides to stay in:

CB Megahorn on 252 HP/Def Gliscor:
97-114 damage (27.40% - 32.20%)

Ice Fang from 0 Atk Gliscor on 252 HP/0Def Heracross:
57-68 damage (around 15.90% - 18.73%ish). A 6HKO at best, might even 7HKO.

So basically Gliscor is unable to wall you effectively without Aerial Ace or Knock Off, and according to Doug's stats, Aerial Ace and Knock Off is very uncommon. Some other calcs:

CB Megahorn on Bold 252 hp/def Zapdos while it Roost:
252-297 damage (65.63% - 77.34%). 2HKO!

CB Megahorn on Bold 252 hp/def Zapdos:
126-148 damage (32.81% - 38.54%). A 85.7% chance of a 3HKO, not with Leftovers as a factor though. Always a 3HKO with Stealth Rock.

Thunderbolt from a neutral 0 SpA Zapdos on a 248 hp/0spd Heracross:
129-153 damage (35.81% - 42.15%ish). Not enough to 2HKO.

CB Megahorn on 4hp/0def Gyarados after Intimidate:
127-150 damage (38.25% - 45.18%). Will always 2HKO with Stealth Rock on the field, 3HKO otherwise.

LO +1 Waterfall from a Adamant 252 Gyarados:
345-406 damage (95.04% - 111.85%). You got a 31.25% of surviving a LO Waterfall from Adamant Gyarados after a DD, while a Jolly LO-Gyarados only got a 18.75% chance of OHKO.

The thing is, once they realise you're slower than them, they will just attack, and you can't do to much to not roosting gliscor, can you? Especially if it has Aerial Ace.

Eh, that's excactly why I ran damage calculations on Ice Fang. Gliscor will 6HKO at the best, while you in return 5HKO at at the worst, and that's anticipating they don't Roost. So this Heracross will definitely beat a non-Roosting Gliscor. I also pointed out that Aerial Ace is really uncommon.

This set is made to win against its usually "bad" matchups, like against Gliscor and Zapdos. It also somewhat compliance for Heracross' mediocre speed stat, and it makes Heracross more durable.

v:

That's a couple of pointless factors to take into account. There's a higher chance for a critical hit to occur then Gliscor freezing or flinching me, and the chance of Megahorn missing is just as slim. Gliscor cannot summon Sandstorm by itself (it can, but that's a waste of time), so you shouldn't anticipate it being on the field. And basically, taking misses and general hax into account makes a Pokemon invincible.

The thing is, there's quite a high chance of you missing the Megahorn, thanks to sand veil + megahorn's low accuracy, not to mention the fact that Ice Fang can freeze/flinch you.

Dusknoir(M)@Leftovers/Lum Berry
Ev's:252HP/232Atk/24Sp.Def
Trait:Pressure
-Shadow Sneak
-Brick Break
-Ice Punch/Thunder Punch
-Taunt/Focus Punch/Pain Split

Ok, Shadow Sneak is obvious as it 2HKO's Azelf and finishes off Aerodactyl after it's focus sash activation. It also 2HKOs Dexoys-e if he doesn't get reflect on turn 2. (Although he might anyway im not sure)

Brick Break is the best counter to DS Deoxys-e. Its a no brainer, it breaks the barriers and he can then hit him with Shadow Sneak. Ice Punch/Thunder Punch both hit Aero for SE and bring him down to Shadow Sneak range, and you can choose which one you need more. (Gyara vs Dragons)

Taunt is useful for Bronzong leads because it makes them worthess as they can barely touch Dusknoir. Focus Punch can catch a poke on the switch and hit Cocky Tyranitars or Lucario's who know you don't carry WoW and try to set up, and also nails the Pink puffball. Pain Split is useful for recovery, especially if you opt for Lum Berry.

Lum berry is there so you can kill off any Gengar lead. It can also help to rid of any status.

This Dusknoir can do more then that outside the first few turns as well.
Brick Break/Shadow Sneak hits neautral on everything, and he can be a useful switch in to normal and fighting attacks if you need it, just dont be too overconfident because his lack of defensive ev's hurt really bad.

Just thought i'd post this after i used it and it's been very sucessful. It's even taken out atleast 1 poke every match, and makes a great counter to suicide leads and DS Dexoys-e.

hitting 5 times with megahorn? so you're telling me you intend for me to believe that I can hit gliscor 5 times in a row with megahorn? a 80 base accuracy move? with possible sand veil in effect? not only is that bordering on preposterous, but once they're at 50% and below, they actually only lose 9% hp maximum if they roost, factoring in leftovers. which means that gliscor can actually pp stall you without any issues and then roost as you struggle to death. and close combat, well, the defense drops kill you there. gliscor still wins.

I've been thinking of a way to utilize Recycle other than Porygon2 and I came up with this set:

Medicham@Gustap Berry
Adamant
248HP/252Atk/8Def
Reversal
Psycho Cut
Substitute
Recycle

The idea is simple. First switch in something that you know will switch out like Blissey and take the chance to Substitute. Substitute 4 times to get your HP lowered to 1 to max the power of Reversal while activating the berry. Now you have STAB pseudo-priority move to shoot more than once with the aid of Recycle. Because SS/Stealth Rock/Spikes are common in OU you may want to use Brick Break and an HP that is divisible by 4 *252HP EVs*.

The analysis for Suicune only mentions Mirror Coat in the other options section, so I tried to create my own set devoted entirely to Mirror Coat.

Suicune @ Leftovers
Bold nature
240 HP, 60 defense, 40 special attack, 168 special defense
Mirror Coat
Protect
Surf
Ice Beam/Rest

Much of the magic of this set is in the EVs. With the spread given, its defenses are 401/309/308, meaning it takes neutral hits on either side as well as a max HP/defense Swampert takes hits on the physical side.
With so much special defense, Gengar can barely manage a 2HKO you with Thunderbolt some of the time, while Mirror Coat easily dispatches the grinning ghoul. Protect eases prediction, and lets you recover a little with Leftovers if you're not playing in sandstorm. Surf is Suicune's attacking move of choice, and the 40 special attack EVs are meant to power it up, since without Calm Mind this set is somewhat lacking in power. The last moveslot is a toss-up, and determines what you ought to use to support this Suicune. With Ice Beam, you get better coverage, but need Wish support, and with Rest, you can recover on your own, but will require Aromatherapy support.

I'm building a new BL team as my alternate since I'm starting to see the same people on the server, and I came up with an interesting lead. In theory, it could work in standard even better than in BL, so I thought I might as well post it.
dpmfa432.png

Purugly @ Lum Berry/Wide Lens
Ability: Thick Fat
EVs: 18 HP/252 Atk/240 Spd
Jolly nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Sucker Punch
- Taunt
- Hypnosis
- U-turn
No, Persian cannot learn Sucker Punch, and it has less attack. I made this for BL play, this could possibly work in standard if you're daring and good at prediction. If you don't want Lum Berry for status, use Wide Lens so Hypnosis doesn't screw you over at the worst possible moment. I'm thinking about gearing towards a bulkier spread and Adamant, as this is designed to outrun Jolly Base 110's this shouldn't be switching in to anyways. Taunt set-ups you're faster than, and if you're not, put them to sleep and U-turn out. If they're faster and try to Taunt you, or if they're too bulky to hurt much with Sucker Punch (as is probably the case early in the game, combined with Purugly's only average attack), U-turn to an appropriate counter to force them out and give yourself a free turn as they switch out (U-turn also ruins their Sash if they're carrying it). Later in the game, this can help clean up and finish off your opponent's more troublesome late-game sweepers, after entry hazards, and crippled walls. Purugly, as the bastard child of the prom king and queen of the balanced tiers, Persian and Blissey, has an easier time switching in due to Thick Fat. Lure out those Ice and Fire moves, cripple one of your opponent's Pokemon by putting them asleep, and reign havoc.

Suggestions (except for the spread...I'll redo it in the morning)? Comments?

OK. This combo I has some real potential. Last night I was thinking about the move Bide, which I loved from Gen 1 when I was a nipper. So I thought, "I've never ever seen it used competitively. I'm sure it's possible, but how do I pull it off?" And earlier, I came up with what I like to call the "Bide-Lock":

Umbreon@Leftovers
Impish
-Taunt
-Mean Look
-Wish
-Baton Pass

AND...

Miltank@Leftovers
Careful
Trait: Scrappy
-Bide
-Defense Curl/Curse
-Milk Drink
-Captivate

It's simple, really. Start with Umbreon: Taunt to stop all non-attacking moves and Mean Look so the opponent doesn't keep switching for 2 turns. Then once they're locked in, Pass to Miltank, and Bide. The opponent can do nothing except get a barrelful of Unleashed Energy. :)

Milk Drink & Wish are for self-healing. Careful & Captivate are because Miltank is frail specially. She's still the best Bide user due to Milk Drink. Her physical defense could also use a boost. I'd obviously advise a defensive EV spread on both of them, Maxing out Miltank's SpD above all else.

So, what do you think of my awesome and (hopefully) original combo?
