Rap

I don't listen to rap usually, but I have a few good rap songs I like.

My favs:
Pretty much anything Eminem (mockingbird, Lose Yourself, Love the Way you lie, etc)
Most K'naan songs (Somalia has some awesome lyrics, listen to it. Bang Bang is alos good)
T.I. - Get Back Up (His new album came out recently I think, but I only downloaded this one. His only other good rap song is Live Your Life, which is more Rhianna bailing him out than anything.
Remember the name - Fort Minor
Over - Drake (I just fell in Love with the guy, no homo)
Magic/Billionaire (Both I guess are rap? Technically)
Most good Flo Rida Songs (Right round, In the aire, Club cant handle me)
Lots of Kanye West
Temperature - Sean Paul (old but still good)
Do the John Wall - troop 41
Akon's raps are pretty good
Last but not least, Lonely Island

I really cant stand Lil' Wayne in any song outside of Let it Rock and I Made It. He just annoys me. He even ruined No Love, which woulda been pretty good otherwise.

holy fuck madvillain is too good

This. Also make sure to check out all of DOOMs stuff under all of his various names (MF Doom, DOOM, Metal Fingers as a producer, King Geedorah, Viktor Vaughn, Madvillain w/ Madlib, Dangerdoom w/ Danger Mouse, Zev Love X way back when he was in KMD, I think that's all of them).

Here's a great Madvillain song. It's been out for forever now, but it's not on madvillainy, so I figured I'd post it. You can download it for free (legally!) by following the link in the description.

Aesop Rock was already mentioned, but here's another good song by him

Thats a great song, but I think Aesop Rock's brilliance is best shown when you pair that song with this one:

Actually posting that song reminded me how awesome the Daylight EP was, and I edited it in to my esential hip-hop albums of the 2000s. This is one of my favorite songs off that EP (just get the whole thing btw);

A lot of good rappers mentioned. The only rappers I really like that weren't mentioned are Sage Francis and Zion I. Francis's most recent is kind of wack but Personal Journals is amazing. Listen to the song Runaways. I only have Zion I's album True & Livin' but it's amazing. Check out the song Doin My Thang.

holy fuck coolking49. I can't comment on K'naan. But everything on that list besides Eminem and maaaybe Kanye is complete fucking shit.

This. Vinnie Paz's solo stuff is pretty good, too.

Nas, 2Pac, Tribe, Eminem, etc. are all stuff i like. I dig immortal tech, kool g (but maybe i am just a sucker for sampling video game music), cunninlynguists, gang starr (dj premier i think i might love you), jedi mind, aesop rock for some more underground stuff. Really digging some of the links being posted; thanks to whoever it was who linked to Shad and Tonedeff. Digging that like mad.

People can have differing opinions all they want. But if they are of the opinion that 50 Cent and G-Unit are talented in the least, then they have bad taste in music.

Yeah next time I'll listen to Lupe Fiasco or something lol

Anyway anyone listen to Curren$y's Pilot Talk last year? Fantastic follow up to This Ain't No Mixtape. Pilot Talk II was a bit disappointing though.

If you haven't already, check out Em's first album, its my favorite. Lots of battle raps on their that can make you laugh. Oh As the World Turns is hilarious but insanely gross, if you're into that kind of stuff

Man this thread is everything I expected it to be. I find that very funny.

No one appreciates the golden age of rap :(

c4mula, ariano, ghettosocks, army of the pharaohs, apathy, vinnie paz, POS, doomtree, benefit, sage francis, tupac, chester p

there's probably more but that's all i can think of off the top of my head!!

Not the biggest fan of rap but I do like Eminem's stuff (new album was not as good as his earlier stuff but I like it, just not as much).

also this song is absolutely hilarious

Thanks MC Icepick <3

I never was into AZ until recently:
Uncut Raw- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hucbfvVKYHk
Gimme Yours feat. Nas - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JG1h2oQRF98

For the most part my tastes in hip-hop remain relatively mainstream New York rap from the 90s. For a while in high school I was into the whole mixtape thing but now I just feel like its ridiculous. Although over the summer I was real heavy into Curren$y, Big K.R.I.T, Bun B, and Bone Thugs :P

Mobb Deep - Cradle to the Grave: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aPE7pfcEkwA

Curren$y - Twistin Stank (Hard In Da Paint beat!) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TldUEViX36c

Curren$y - Airborne Aquarium - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2jW4xXogrNU

The thing about Curren$y is that appeals to me is how laid back he is when hes chest thumping. Pilot Talk II is hes best work to date IMO demonstrating his own brand establishing him as independent artist hopefully putting and end to the stupid Wiz Khalifa comparisons -.-

Bone Thugs N Harmony:
Thuggish Ruggish Bone - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C0PB4o9GH2A
East 1999 - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jBlF-oeeqbk
