Pet Mod Roulettemons [Finished Mod + Now with Random Battles!]

Pigeotine looks really interesting and the only one that probably isn’t dangerously good. A Z-Heal Bell set is probably good enough to use it as a SpD wall, and it’s physical attack and access to Agility probably makes it not a laughable physical threat either, even if it’s movepool isn’t extremely deep (it learns struggle).
Edit: Berry pouch is a fun ability.

Silverybara is probably too bulky. It’s just straight up unhealthy honestly.

Skelalo is broken. Why would you vote for that? Parental Bond is busted on that mon, and having Storm Drain for an alternative special set is also dumb.

Voting slate has started. I usually like voting for all three but I don't know if I really want most of these, so I'm gonna vote None, Magmatile. I may just end it in two days, but if I still get votes after 24 hours after this post I'll extend it a bit.

Also, I made a sprite for Baloon. I felt like despite how much it was voted for, it'd be one that nobody would really want to sprite because the fact that it's a balloon fairy is all you really have to go by. I took a shot at it though, and here's what I got...

175689

Really really simple design here because I was given the name "Baloon" and nothing else. I tried to imagine this as an actual balloon, and with actual balloons, they'll pinch and twist parts when they want to make limbs like arms, and if I'm not mistaken those are often in the shape of loops. I'd imagine you would get the head, twist the two arm loops, and then get left with the part at the bottom, which I attached a string to. Some balloons in my childhood also had this little circle thing attached to them so it's easier for kids to grab them, so I added a small one of those as well.

Votes are in, and Pidgeotine has won! It has been added to the Usable Pokemon section, while the other four have been added to the Rejected Builds section.

Now, for the next builds...

With that, discussion phase has begun! Also, not too far from now, I'm also going to be updating the spreadsheet in a few ways to showcase the artwork made for Roulettemons. What will most likely happen is I'll have a tab called Art Gallery with all the sprites and the creator's name underneath it, and I may take the time to make little menu icons for each of the Pokemon to show in the Usable Pokemon tab.

Tigire: I think I like this thing. There are so many crazy physical walls in the tier that Fire Lash won't likely be a problem. And don't forget it gives a Def boost to the GOAT, Baloon. The rest of the coverage looks fun: Bonemerang, Crabhammer, Hammer Arm, Lunge. It's bulk is enough to take advantage of Roost. Mono Fire is not the greatest offensive type, but the tradeoff is Fire Lash.

Catezar: Great pokemon if it didn't have Hustle. Hustle is both broken and not worth using at the same time. Otherwise, a mid-speed attacker with Toxic Spikes and Stealth Rock is cool.

Dinorak: This thing gets the amazing STAB combo of Ground / Ice with Plasma Fists and Close Combat for coverage. It's got Trick Room and great stats for that, too. It also has Glare, Autotomize, and Kings Shield to round out various bulky attacker and wincon sets. That SpD might be a bit much, but it doesn't have recovery, at least, and it's an Ice type. This looks fun.

Gorilax: This thing isn't as ungodly passive or bulky as most of the mixed walls we've rolled, which might warrant picking it. It has a ( still trash ) 83 base SpA and maybe could get something done with Blue Flare. More importantly it has Night Shade to chip those 20 HP glass cannons. That's pretty much it, though; it Toxics, it Shore Ups, it Night Shades sometimes. That's how a Gorilax do.

Fluffora: It sets Spikes really quickly and then Final Gambits before anyone can remove them. Seismic Toss anything that gets in your way. Really bad.

Been kinda busy lately for multiple reasons, but that's all gonna end tomorrow. Dunno when I'll start voting but it'll definitely be before Saturday. Anyways, here are my thoughts on the five builds...

Scoop summed up my thoughts here perfectly. STAB Fire Lash is really cool, but there are enough Pokemon in the tier that are really bulky to the point where I doubt it'll be busted. I also didn't even think about Baloon getting a Defense buff from Fire Lash, that's super cool. I think this thing will be perfectly balanced and really fun as well, so it's probably getting a vote from me.

Yeah, no thanks. All this thing needs to do is spam Play Rough and it just breaks everything, bar like maybe Electritar or something which also risks switching in on a Brick Break. Hustle would make it a bit inconsistent but I don't want many games to ride off of a Hustle miss.

Another perfectly balanced Pokemon, also because of all of the crazy physical walls of this meta. Its coverage is stellar and it also has Trick Room. Between this thing and Kinesel, it'd be really fun to see a perfectly viable Trick Room build in this meta, though I'm not sure if two Pokemon can make the archetype, we're barely into this meta and we could see more in the future. Aside from that, though, this would be our third Ice-type physical attacker that also has good bulk. I don't think we need another so early, even if this is probably my favorite of the three. May not vote for this just for that reason, but I don't know.

This thing has a pretty weird defensive typing...it resists Fighting and Rock in exchange for it being weak to Fairy, Flying, and Ghost, which isn't the worst thing in the world but isn't ideal. Its raw bulk actually isn't too bad, and if this meta ever gets super developed I could see it going for a more mixed spread meant to deal with specific Pokemon better. There are a lot of Pokemon that have the coverage to deal with this (apparently six of our fifteen Pokemon learn Play Rough, only two of which by STAB move, and I don't understand why) but I don't know if many of them would really want to run it aside from some lure set. I don't see anything overly terrible about this Pokemon, but also nothing overly good.

I was really excited about this thing after seeing it with this great special bulk and learning all of these really cool utility moves like Heal Bell, Knock Off, and especially Spikes...and then I realized this thing lacked any recovery moves, minus Z-Moves and Rest and I was immediately upset. I don't see this thing possibly being useful in the meta, it just doesn't do anything now.

Not much for me to say in this post, but voting phase has now started.

Tigire, Gorilax, Dinorak

In our closest vote yet, Gorilax wins by one point over Tigire! The doc has been updated, with Gorilax going with the "Usable Pokemon" and the rest going to "Rejected Builds." If you're wondering about Dinorak, it was only one point behind Tigire.

Here are next week's builds. If you click one, you may notice I put something new inside each of them...

Chillamander
Normal/Ice
Trace/Long Reach/Solar Power
42, 183, 73, 165, 58, 79
Viable Moves: Strength, Hyper Voice, Icicle Crash, Ice Beam, Shadow Ball, Nasty Plot, Seismic Toss, Leaf Blade, Wish, Waterfall, Seed Flare, Revelation Dance, Volt Tackle, X-Scissor, Spacial Rend, Surf, Drain Punch, Low Kick, Flamethrower, Horn Leech
Other Moves: Poison Powder, Thunder Shock, Mist, Wonder Room, Sunny Day, Safeguard, Echoed Voice, Double Slap, Instruct, Dragon Rush, Triple Kick, Howl, Barrage, Scary Face, Swallow, Fling, Curse, Speed Swap, Thief, Dark Void

Side note - Up until now I've been typing the moves out one-by-one because copying and pasting them from Google Sheets to here makes it into a table, which looks really ugly, but I found a way around it. Now it's easy, and since there's sometimes something of note outside of the viable moves (like maybe Z-Sunny Day on this with Solar Power + Flamethrower), I felt like it'd be best to post them all here.

Specorb
Steel
Own Tempo/Strong Jaw/Stamina
137, 138, 111, 113, 60, 41
Viable Moves: Iron Head, Flash Cannon, Moongeist Beam, Brave Bird, Agility, Photon Geyser, Volt Switch, Switcheroo, Dragon Pulse, Shadow Punch, Rapid Spin, Recover, Psystrike, Dragon Hammer, Sacred Fire, Lunge, Sunsteel Strike, Destiny Bond, Moonlight, Encore

Other Moves: Camoflauge, Rock Throw, Miracle Eye, Brine, Conversion 2, Flash, Flower Shield, Leafage, Instruct, Sky Drop, Assist, Pluck, Fell Stinger, Spider Web, Screech, Flame Charge, Egg Bomb, Disable, Dual Chop, Bullet Seed

Starite
Flying/Fairy
Mummy/No Second Ability/Effect Spore
56, 120, 154, 95, 21, 154
Viable Moves: Drill Peck, Aeroblast, Play Rough, Moonblast, Boomburst, Blaze Kick, Accelerock, Healing Wish, Scald, Multi-Attack, Psystrike, Nature's Madness, Lunge, Leech Seed, Will-o-Wisp, Blue Flare, Slack Off, Cross Chop, Recover, Freeze-Dry

That's about it. I'm still going to make changes to the spreadsheet to make it show art, just haven't gotten around to it yet. I'll post my thoughts on the five builds later!

Geez, talk about a glass cannon. Honestly I'm tempted to vote for this just so when it inevitably is extremely gimmicky and generally crappy we can do some Mega Evolution bullshit with it.

This one's neat. Cool typing and movepool with Stamina while the Special Defense and Speed keep it in check.

Meh. All of its abilities do nothing for it, and it's not doing much with its solid physical movepool with that hilariously bad Attack stat. I'll pass.

I like this one a lot too. Cool single type and two great abilities in Simple and Magic Guard, both of which it can use while not being insanely overwhelming.

Nah. We got enough stuff with lots of physical defense and 0 special defense, and it just generally isn't compelling and looks kinda annoying to me.

So far it's looking like the best choices are Terrovark and Specorb to me.

Gonna post my thoughts now along with a few other things!

I can see this most likely going one of two ways- either its wallbreaking presence becomes too good and people start building around it, which I honestly highly doubt, or it ends up being a gimmick that's not worth it. There's a chance that it could be a nice addition to the meta but I don't wanna test something so volatile, so I'm gonna pass.

As someone who mainly plays balance, I love this thing. It's a bulky steel with stellar physical bulk, salvageable at best special bulk, Sacred Fire for 50% burn chance, Stamina, Recover, Rapid Spin... It'd make me so happy to use this thing, but I really don't know if I want something with already good physical bulk, recovery, and Stamina. That honestly seems like a bit much. I want to vote for this thing because there are so many things I love about it, but I wish its stats were a bit worse and it had a less stupid ability.

This thing has a ton of similarities to Terrovark...Both have are very bulky, especially so on the special side, and I could see them having good matchups against defensive teams. Venomacuda is a tiny bit stronger than Terrovark and also has much better coverage between Power Gem, Sludge Bomb, and Fusion Flare. It also would likely enjoy being able to run Nasty Plot more than Terrovark, since while Terrovark CAN run Simple with Growth, it would have to give up Magic Guard, which I imagine it wouldn't like. Its speed tier is pretty low relative to the rest of the meta, but I could still see this thing going to town against bulkier teams. I don't see anything that wants to take a hit from this thing, especially after a Nasty Plot boost. Might be a bit much for the meta, at least how I currently see it.

In a role where it's just a special attacker, Terrovark seems a bit worse than Venomacuda, which is honestly a good sign. It loses pretty badly to Pidgeotine and Crazefly...though it has Overheat for Crazefly, that doesn't OHKO and you can just Roost spam past it or switch into something that exploits it for that. It's worth noting that it still beats Glacida and Gorilax though thanks to Moonblast. If there's one thing I could see it doing best though, it would be a more defensive role, and once again, I could see this thing doing a bit too well against defensive teams. Offensive teams have plenty of Pokemon to pressure it with super effective hits, but I can't see how a defensive team is supposed to break this. I'd be more than happy if someone told me something that I'm just not seeing, like I don't know if it's ideal for Stall to PP stall something like this to death since I don't play stall at all. I'm not sure about this one either, honestly, but I'm open to being proven wrong on this.

This Pokemon is disgraceful. High physical bulk, low special bulk, Fairy typing...does any of this sound familiar to you? This Pokemon aims to replace the mighty Baloon, and for that reason and that reason alone it should be ignored. End of story.

I can definitely see if people don't vote this because it's another physically bulky specially frail Pokemon that we've seen a bunch of at this point, but I actually do want to bring this up. I could see this thing doing quite nicely on offensive teams against opposing offensive teams especially, kind of in a similar way to Electritar. It has stellar Fighting/Fairy/Flying coverage, and its stats could aid it in this role quite well. Though it mostly lacks pivoting, it does have one great tool that works especially well with its stats- Healing Wish. This move is really nice for offense, and having the ability to easily sponge certain hits and Healing Wish right after that would easily make it different from Baloon, and I think Baloon has a much better defensive typing and better physical bulk which could allow it to fit on more defensive builds. This one honestly looks kind of interesting, and I'm not just saying that because I'm not a fan of any of the other builds.

Also I'm sorry about the "Starite is Disgraceful" part of this post I know I'm not funny

And that's all I have to say about these! I'm going to begin voting phase tomorrow, and I may slowly make all of the phases faster as a whole since voting phase is when most people seem to post, and that's mostly only for one day. But that's not all I have to say with this post!

I also have a few sets to share with you guys, two of which may be quite good and the other is more of a "for fun" set...

Scorpita @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Corrosion
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Sludge Bomb
- Earth Power
- Flamethrower
- filler (Toxic?)

Scorpita, as it stands, currently looks like the best Choice Scarf user, except for maybe Eartharoo which I honestly kind of doubt. Poison STAB is really spammable in the current meta, with there not being any specially bulky Poison resists as of right now. We have one Steel type, and that is Electritar, who actually gets outsped by this and will obviously get destroyed by Scorpita's coverage. I'd think Pidgeotine and Gorilax could wall this quite easily, but I'd expect this Pokemon to be much better lategame. For similar reasons I could see a Z-Hold Hands set being just as effective, though that obviously needs to set up. This is early meta, so it's obviously unclear whether or not this set will stay viable when we finish the meta, but Scorpita currently looks very promising.

Stuneleon @ Life Orb
Ability: Pixilate
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Fusion Bolt
- Poison Jab
- Return
- Sludge Bomb

I swear it's a complete coincidence that the two Pokemon I mention here for serious sets are the two that Tuthur made designs for. I feel like this Pokemon is a bit overlooked though, Poison coverage is still really good and Fairy and Electric are the perfect typings to help it break through Glacida, Gorilax, and Aquatopus. Note that Sludge Bomb is mostly to 2HKO Brawnkey, and Adamant still allows it to achieve that. This set could really be tweaked a good bit; it could probably drop Poison Jab for Z-Hold Hands and run Speed investment (though Electritar still would outspeed it at +1), it could possibly run Thunderbolt over Fusion Bolt, or maybe something else I'm not noticing...I dunno. I feel like Stuneleon should at least be acknowledged here though.

Baloon @ Leftovers / Maranga Berry
Ability: Symbiosis
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SpA / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
- Accupressure
- Stored Power
- Heal Order
- Substitute / Amnesia

Obviously the fun set here. I don't expect this to be viable in any way but the point of it is kind of obvious. Set up Accupressure and maybe Amnesia, heal when needed, and Stored Power once you've set up enough. Substitute is to avoid Toxic, Amnesia is for immediate SpDef in case you feel a special attacker is going to come out and you need extra bulk to take its hits...if that's even possible with base 12 SpDef. Most likely not viable, but it seems pretty funny.

And on top of that, I've made the art section of the sheet, now called "Art Gallery!"

177247

This is all that's on it so far, pretty simple stuff. Also, the Crazefly art is new, and I'm gonna mention that here. It's mostly based on a crane fly, which has some absurdly long body parts, which I reflected here (though I feel like I could do the perspective for the abdomen a bit better, will continue working on that). The generic "crazy" look for eyes has a swirl instead of the pupil, which replaces the eyes for many insects lacking pupils and being spotted. One thing I didn't think about until recently is that the anime does eyes for fainted Pokemon like this, and I probably should have thought that through better. I also came up with the name "Flychopath" for it on my own time, and though I'm not gonna change the name here, I feel like it's at least worth mentioning.

That's all I have to say here! I'll be starting voting tomorrow!
