Pet Mod Roulettemons [Finished Mod + Now with Random Battles!]

Herbigator, Toastar, Rhinocith

Head Smash with Harvest seems pretty cool, and it's at least not weak to Electric with EQ in return.

However, something else here:
187861
187862

Sprites for Giranium! I didn't want to go down the obvious path (giraffe + titanium), so I instead interpreted the name as "girasol + titanium" with girasol being a type of fire opal (also is part of Giratina's name, which is where I got the idea, but here I took it to its more literal extent). Essentially, it's a sentient piece of ore within a stone that has control over metal, and is in general an elementalist. Therefore, it uses a sheet of metal as a cape/armor, as well as having a mining inspiration, as it gathered some tools for the purposes of defense/intimidation.

Thought I'd give a sprite a try...

Kite+Yarn Ball Albatrygon

I didn't want to go with a normal bird because it's a pure Flying type, not Normal/Flying. It has an albatross head and polygonal kite wings, thus justifying the name. Albatross are known for their flying endurance so I think it works out as a kite that never has to land. It pukes out partially digested yarn to feed its young, or to perform Sticky Web. It has fierce, yet adorable territorial battles with Baloon.

Feedback welcome.

A bit rough around the edges (outlines are too thick or at odd angles in places), and the kite colors are a bit too bright, mostly due to the green used. The concept is good and the shape seems about right. The yarn is shaded/textured properly for the most part, but the string isn't outlined, which is a no-no. Most importantly, and this is the big one: it's facing the wrong way. Not terrible, though.

Here is a quick improved version I cooked up:
187910

I tidied up the outlines, decreased the green's brightness, fixed some shading, outlined the string, and made things face the correct way. I also made the wing on the right (our right) appear visibly connected to Albatrygon, and I improved its eyes, including a dark spot around them like actual albatross have. If you'd like me to make a shiny of this, I can, or you can rework yours a bit. Either way, I think you could make some fantastic sprites with a bit of improvement. Keep it up.

(I really like the flavor for this thing)

Herbigator, none.

I'll end voting and start a new slate either tomorrow or the day after that!

187934

I experimented with a shiny design here. I have three different head colors, but the rest I felt was pretty easy to get down. The kite wing colors of your shiny work great, and the most common kite string colors are white and silver, so I made a lighter body. I made the head a dark gray, but I also tried two other head designs that I personally like better.
187936
187938

I tried a lighter gray and your off-white shade, and I feel like both work well. I'm requesting some feedback on which version is the best.

Edit:

By the way here are some of the most impactful moves I've seen in the non-viable section, in no particular order.

Conversion: Baloon
Forest's Curse: Electritar, Aquazelle
Celebrate: Electritar,
Hold Hands: Salamalix, Stuneleon, Scorpita, Chillvark, Giranium, Ostria
Purify: Aquazelle, Albatrygon, Ostria
Thousand Waves: Kinesel, Salamalix
Land's Wrath: Komodith
Fire: Electritar, Gorilax, Chillvark
Sparkling Aria: Voltecta

Frost Breath: Aquazelle, Stuneleon, Crazefly

Jump Kick: Salamalix, Crazefly, Flamyle

Storm Throw: Eartharoo, Giranium

Heart Swap: Salamalix, Kinesel, Baloon, Flamyle

Some of these examples would find the moves outclassed or completely unuseable, but others would find them pretty valuable.

With some additional improvements, Albatrygon is here! I decided to go with the dark gray (but not the very dark one) due to feedback I received on Discord. What's more, I improved the shape of the tail and shaded more effectively, as well as made the colors on the kite wings a bit more tame to look at. If there is any other issue I should resolve, please let me know, but I feel like these are good enough to be final.

Okay.

Chillking: Has decent bulk, good SpA, and middling Speed. It can run T-Spikes, Techno Blast for coverage, and Endeavor works well with its low HP stat. However, Psychic Surge actively works against it by powering up the Psychic type moves that its weak to, and it doesn't get any Psychic moves itself. Additionally, it doesn't do much to stand out from the other mons with its types, like Chillvark and Scorpita. Not bad, but not my first choice for sure. Also, shouldn't it have Sludge Bomb and Poison Jab?

Armadily: Typing would imply offensive, but it's actually fast utility with solid bulk. It gets SR and Spikes, and on top of this it also gets Parting Shot and Drain Punch. It can even utilize Levitate to remove one of its weaknesses. It has some obvious faults, though, namely a lack of recovery or setup. But it's better than some of the other builds here.

Bonite: This thing is just utterly invincible to nearly every physical Pokemon. 98 HP and 167 Defense is already insane, but then you give it two ridiclously powerful defensive abilities in the form of Stamina and Fluffy. What? Not invincible enough? Okay, how about Will-o-Wisp and Sacred Fire? Feather Dance too, why not. Still not invincible yet? Lets add Strength Sap. Foe likes Substitute? Whirlwind. And, after all this, it even has a 99 Base Attack STAB Thousand Arrows. Here is a poem for what I think of this:

The only way to win
is to never let this in

Demeen: This thing is extremely bizarre to me. A very slow Dark type with Psychic Surge that gets Photon Geyser, Moongeist Beam, Diamond Storm, Dark Void, and Light of Ruin. It is immune to Psychic, and with Photon Geyser it can use the boost from the Terrain to effectively have a second STAB. Unfortunately for it, it gets some really good priority moves like First Impression, Mach Punch, and Fake Out, but Psychic Surge is its only useful ability. However, this thing is pretty good inside of Trick Room. An Assault Vest set can run Crunch, Photon Geyser, Fire Lash, and Wild Charge or Rapid Spin. It also gets Night Daze and Moonblast if you want to run a Special/mixed set. I certainly like it (especially over the other Psychic Surge mon in this slate) but I'm not sure if it's my favorite.

Anteros: I like this thing. It's a very solid fast utility mon that uses its fantastic defensive typing to be decently bulky. With reliable recovery on top of moves like Encore, Heal Bell, Switcheroo, and Infestation, it offers a few ways to disrupt the foe. The Lightning Rod also lets it take on Electric mons if they aren't packing Fire coverage. The unfortunate truth, however, is that lots of relevant mons have/use Fire coverage. Luckily, Anteros has a couple of shield it can use for scouting, as well as Sucker Punch to possibly score a sneaky KO. However, it ultimately isn't very strong, and its lack of pivot moves might cost you some momentum.

Chillking: Aside from being a type I've literally never considered, there isn't much positive I see. It kinda seems like a bulky attacker but its HP stat forces it to go all or nothing in that regard, as without HP investment it's really not bulky. Its speed tier is low and it relies on Aura Sphere for coverage which is a bit weak. There are some wall breakers it could concieveably outspeed and kill but I don't really see it being a niche.

Armadily: It has good speed, one great def stat, and Stealth Rock and Spikes, making it a viable hazard lead. Parting Shot, Drain Punch, and Spirit Shackle are neat, even if it would rather have something like Taunt or a suicide move to fill its other slots. I could see it having a niche.

Bonite: Not much to say that Keegan didn't other than it has a great typing to boot; bulk+Stamina+Fluffy+Strength Sap+Will-o-Wisp+Sacred Fire =/= game balance.

Demeen: Now this thing is pretty intruiging. It gets a nice Dark/Psychic STAB combo without the defensive issues that come along with that type. The physical bulk might be ridiculously high, but it doesn't have recovery or any sort of status immunity, so it shouldn't be impossible to kill. That and Fire Lash make me slightly nervous but overall I like this thing.

Also add Night Daze and Gyro Ball to the list of viable moves found in the non-viable moves section ( nothing else gets them so far ).

Anteros: I like the idea of the stats and typing, as fast walls are something I find pretty interesting. Lightning Rod is a pretty solid ability for a Bug/Steel, and we have at least a couple of Electric types who can't break it due to this ( Electritar gets Blue Flare though ). The movepool is not the best, however. The support is limited to Kings/Spiky Shield, Encore, Toxic and Heal Bell. That might be enough, though, due to its amazing defensive typing; simply Toxic / Heal Bell / Softboiled / Iron Head could be an effective wall. I'd like to try a bit of Kings Shield + Encore myself, though.

Edit: The Cruelest don't forget to add Giranium and the updated Albatrygon sprites to the spreadsheet!

Average speed for this Pet Mod, 41/119/137 defenses, leaving it a little short on the Defense side mainly. Gets Ice Beam STAB, Sludge Bomb STAB, Moonblast, Aura Sphere, and recovery in Moonlight. Seems balanced. Probably not viable
134 speed makes it above average fast, and 79/93/152 defenses makes it a decent Special Defender. Gets Stone Edge and Sky Uppercut but more importantly Drain Punch STAB. Gets Stealth Rock and Levitate negates its Ground weakness. It doesn't have boosting, and its Defense is relatively weak, so I think it's balanced. Possibly viable
Ground/Steel with Stamina and Fluffy, with 98/167 defenses? Access to Will-O-Wisp, Taunt, and Strength Sap? Hella broken.
I like this one. Crunch STAB with 127 Atk is okay, not the best. Horn Leech and Fire Punch. Gyro Ball and Photon Geyser under Psychic Terrain. First Impression and Fake Out. 142/130/76 defenses makes it a Defensive wall with average Sp Def.
Possible Set:
Demeen @ Leftovers
Ability: Psychic Surge
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Def
Brave Nature
IVs: 0 Spe
- Photon Geyser
- Crunch
- Gyro Ball
- Horn Leech
Seems very average. Iron Head/X-Scizzor Sucker Punch abuser with Fire Punch in the fourth slot. Very predictable and not too viable. I missed Cosmic Power, Softboiled, Toxic, King's Shield, Encore, and Taunt. This thing is top tier.

That's all for now. Discussion phase has begun!

Fluster: This thing is actually super neat. With Harvest, you can run a solid support set with moves like Tailwind, Spikes and T-Spikes, Sticky Web, Parting Shot, Slack Off, Dragon Tail, and more. Shed Skin is not unviable either. Simple Cotton Guard could be pretty nuts, but it isn't unkillable on the Special side, and it's notably vulnerable to Ghost and Dark moves. Boosting Z-Moves are not affected by Simple, so this is the best it has in terms of setup (unless you want to play roulette with Ominous Wind). It can also run a few offensive moves for utility purposes, like Searing Shot to fish for burns, or Core Enforcer to deactivate abilities. If you feel Simple Cotton Guard would be busted, then this probably wouldn't be the mon for you, but I personally like it.

Dragix: Mono Dragon with 181 SpA, Harvest, Swift Swim, and Wonder Skin. Its coverage is honestly pretty solid, and it could run Dragon Dance for the small boost to Speed it needs. Harvest could help keep it from being revenged by priority. I personally think it's just a bit too strong.

Rammingo: This thing seems like it wants to be a physical mon with a large number of strong physical attacks, but its SpA is higher and it has no way to boost its Attack. Not really noteworthy.

Herbalo: This thing has lots of powerful special moves when its Attack is higher, but unlike Rammingo it has Dragon Dance and enough physical moves to work with. Notably weak to Bug, but it certainly isn't bad, especially with Gluttony and high HP keeping it healthy for using Dragon Dances. If only it could actually use Hyperspace Fury.

Gladiaster: This thing has multiple interesting strategies that would give it a notable spot in the meta. Rock Head paired with Volt Tackle gives this thing a very powerful Electric move with no drawbacks, and with moves like Bullet Punch, Gunk Shot, and Crabhammer, this thing can be very solid. On the special side, you have Dazzling Gleam, Hidden Power, and Eruption, which don't offer too much variety, but they still work. Drought is a notable ability because Gladiaster gets powerful Fire coverage in both V-Create and Eruption, which is boosted by the power of the Sun into some devastatingly strong coverage. Paired with a Scarf, V-Create will hurt just about everything. Just make sure to watch out for actual Fire types, which you can't hit with Crabhammer for as much damage while the Sun is up. I personally like this one the most out of this slate.

Time for my thoughts...

Yeah I'm not so sure about this one...this thing needs one turn to wall every physical attacker in the game except for SD Ninjoth, which I'm not a huge fan of. It also has Parting Shot, three different kinds of hazards, and Dragon Tail so it's not the most passive thing in the world. It may not do the best against defensive teams but I still don't like it.

This is another one of those "extremely difficult to wall, but frail and not particularly fast" Pokemon, except this one has Swift Swim, which would remove the "not particularly fast" part of it and make it outspeed the entire unboosted metagame. It only really needs four moves to do everything it wants to thanks to the good coverage that Dragon/Ghost/Fighting/Fire provides, and although that might make it weak to certain specially-defensive Fairies that may end up joining the metagame later, there are none now, and I wouldn't vote this in and bank on that changing.

Remember the specially-defensive Fairies that I mentioned that could possibly come in to wall Dragix? Well here's one of them, and I don't think both would get voted in but it's still a fun thing to mention. However, I kinda doubt that this thing would want to run any offensive sets due to a somewhat shallow movepool, and I don't think a Sp. Def set would be that viable thanks to the fact that we have a lot of special attackers with typings that hit Rammingo hard. Not a huge fan but it's an interesting Pokemon that I wish was a bit better.

Looks pretty interesting. Although at first it looks to be a bulky Grass mon with not the best defensive typing or movepool, to me it looks like a pretty nice bulky Dragon Dance user. Dark/Fighting alone is good coverage, and it gets forced out pretty easily by Baloon and Brawnkey, and its Attack and Speed are pretty lacking without multiple boosts. However, it has Gluttony on top of stellar bulk, which could make it easier for it to get multiple boosts in some cases. I like this one, it has multiple counters and most Pokemon have something to hit it super effectively, but its typing, bulk, and ability could let it set up and win in certain games where it's used well.

We already have multiple Ice-type breakers, and this one doesn't have too much that sets it apart aside from Sun boosted V-Create and STAB on Bullet Punch. I won't be voting for it for that reason, but it doesn't seem like an inherently bad choice for any reason on paper.

One last thing- some of the Roulettemons Pokemon are now playable in Super Smash Mods! From how the metagame looks, both of the Pokemon that are currently in seem pretty good! Komodith looks like a major threat to stall thanks to Bulk Up, Beast Boost, and Z-Dragon Claw leaving it with only a few defensive counters, and Baloon looks like a pretty promising defensive wall thanks to its stats and might also have the potential to run a decent Z-Conversion set thanks to its bulk, decent speed, and good Attack stats.
