I love just bulking up in people's faces with this guy.

Was running a defensive set with Payback/Bulk Up/Drain Punch/Zen Headbutt.

Bulked up 3 times, KO'd one of their pokemon then floored their Kyeremu or whatever the ice dragon's name is. Feels good.

edit:

Am i allowed to post battle logs in threads or no?
If it does show the effectiveness of the set you are using, you may do so, however not recommended because tiering is not done yet.

If you ARE posting the log, put them in code tags, since this is not warstory.

I think it does, because it(imo) shows how bulky a drain punch+bulk up zuruzukin can be. I'll post it after I'm done putzing around in ICC.

I don't mean to sound harsh but I don't think that was particularly representative of Zuzurukin's abilities given the amount of boosts you had - thanks to a great set up courtesy of Porygon2 who focused on healing than attacking after surprisingly being unable to really create a huge dent on Zuruzukin with his Special Attacks. It was shocking to see him tank special hits quite well. Though its no surprise you were able to KO Kyuremu in one hit - who couldn't really dent a +3 bulk up Zuruzukin. Also it would have been more interesting to see him tear up on something his move was neutral against or resisted or perhaps something much bulkier.

In that other than seeing Zuzurukin able to take special hits well enough we didn't really get to see him use his physical defense - a great way to look into that would have been facing off Blaziken who was boosting himself a lot with sword dance - as his last two opponents really weren't physical based. Though his ability to take special hits is definitely something - I just wonder what the EVs of that Porygon 2 was. Though that Porygon 2 most likely ran:
Porygon2 @ Pre-Evolution Stone
252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Ability: Analyze
Nature: Bold
~ Recover
~ Thunderbolt
~ Ice Beam
~ Thunder-Wave / Toxic
Still given Porygon2's 105 base SpA that is still impressive.

Perhaps this means it might be much easier to set up a Zuruzukin than imagined since its not just physical hits he can take but special hits as well - and he was able to take on a boltbeam.

Zuruzukin was paralyzed. I don't think I have anything that can paralyze on my team.

The main thing I saw was that with a little bit of set-up(which is completely plausible due to Zuruzkin's bulk) he can basically lay into things with drain punch and keep himself completely alive.

He also took barely any damage(albeit, he had bulk ups when he ate Kyuremu's dragon claw), but the thunderbolts also barely hurt him/he healed them off with drain punch.

I'm actually at fault with that blaziken, but I have a feeling that a +2 195 power HJK would completely break zuruzkin regardless of what I could do.

I run a careful Zuruzkin atm, I'll see what'll happen if I run a +def nature and eat some fighting attacks.

I don't know if these means anything, but I was watching a battle on Youtube and a +1 Uragamosu's Bug Buzz couldn't OHKO the opponents Zuruzukin (80~90% damage). I'm not sure what the EV invest of either one was, or what the nature was, but if the sets weren't some extreme deviants (+SpD 252/252 HP/SpD or something ridiculous) that's a pretty decent feat. Unfortunately, the opponent used Bulk Up instead of attacking so I'm not sure how much damage Zuru could retaliate with. I wonder how much Rock Slide would do...

He seems to be a bit bulkier than people imagine.

People really are underestimating its bulk. Seriously, it has higher defenses than Rotom-A.

I've been using a custom bulky set with DD to kinda imitate Kingdra and it's been working quite well! Can definitely take two or more hits and that's enough for it to setup two DDs and start Drain Punching stuff so it's back to good health.

I don't see why you disregard intimidate. +1 stage defense is a huge plus to someone with defensive stats as good as Zuruzukin's. Throw EVs in HP and SpD and your all set.

intimidate + substitute + full HP EVs = a pretty good chance to get 2 Dragon Dances in to outpace a lot of things, before finishing with Drain Punch to keep you healthy and your opponent dead. just make sure Heracross is gone before you do

@ryanide: by the way, if you won't be able to finish the zuru.gif, think you could spoil for us what you were planning for him to do? just curious :P

and is your weavile using Low Kick in that gif?

It looks like it's using a combination of both that and Brick Break.

Awesome, isn't it? :D

It have some bulkness, an acceptable attack stat, awesome abilities and enough movepool, allowing it to use many different sets, but IMO its type combination isn´t too good defensively when compared with other fighting types and some dark types.

offensively fighting/dark is very impressive coverage and defensively it only has 1 common weakness, this guy is just fine.

ps. Green Thunder, know your memes :nerd:

Weaknesses isn`t the only thing to considerate, resistances to some typical attacks like EQ and Surf can be useful too, or perhaps having some resistances of the Steel type, and being it a slow Pokémon IMO the resistances can be even more important, i´m not saying that it have bad typing, i´m only saying that IMO other fighting types have better defensive typing combinations.

You do have a point, looking at the typing again it has only 3 resists; ghost, rock and dark :(

I suppose this is what makes Lucario/Breloom so easy to switch in.

edit: I forgot the immunity to Psychic, but that's a given, right?

Steel, don't forget steel.

uh being a fighting/dark type it takes neutral damage from steel.
That does not make an ounce of sense, but I stand corrected. Why would dark take away the Steel resist? It makes no sense! Dark isn't weak to steel. Fighting resists it. What the eff, Gamefreak?

While Priority moves could be a problem, an offensive set like this could work:
DD Zuru@ Leftovers/Life Orb
Jolly/Adamant
Overconfidence
252 Atk/4 HP/252 Speed
Dragon Dance
Crunch
High Jump Kick
Dragon Tail/Fire Punch

Dragon Dance and that beautiful Fighting/Dark dual stab. Fire Punch can hurt Steels like Skarmory and the like, but Dragon Tail is my preference because of its ability to remove problems that Zuru can't deal with. His bulk should help with set-up and surviving priority.
