Shaymin Event coming to the US

Yes, you can go to any (most?) Toys R' Us store locations and receive it. The event lasts until this Saturday.

I dig a little more digging, and apparently you can hold up to three Wonder cards, so I'm satisfied.
 
Went to the event, hanged around for roughly 3 hours. The TRU employee there was pretty cool to talk to, he didn't want to talk about only pokemon like some people who went for the event.

There are two kinds of nerds, not only with pokemon but basically anything. The truly pathetic and the pretty cool normal who just so happens to have special interests.

Unfortunately, I met only the former. One guy felt the need to try to chat me up about "cutiepie" shaymin and would only talk about Pokemon ranger. I guess he was trying to start a friendly conversation and felt pokemon was our only common interest and that's okay. But we're not 10 year olds, talk about something else like maybe Nintendo or gaming in general. *shrugs*

I think I hurt his feelings when I kept blowing him off.... but w/e.

I got 10 Shaymins, two of them SRable.

Just kidding, but I had to make this comparison! lol

Eh, it's a pity we can't get Skymin until Platinum comes out.
 
This is getting quite annoying. So far the best Shaymins I have SR'd for:

Jolly: 29/31/12/14/23/31
Adamant: 12/31/14/4/17/31

What is this crap? Then when I finally get Timid or Modest, I find it has 2 Special Attack or shitty speed. The game is screwing me here...

Not exactly, but I would much rather abuse Skymin's special movepool... Seed Flare, Air Slash, Earth Power, rather than keeping those and using Swords Dance...

EDIT: Ok, third perfect attack IV Jolly Shaymin. Why can't it be Timid with 31 SpA?

I expected someone to bring that up, most of them are for friends who can't attend the event though. Toys R Us's are so rare, and of course it isn't happening in Canada.
 
Actually, I've heard you don't need to activate it, it automatically appears once the DS detects any Mystery Gift signal.


Not that I can confirm it, though. Never gone to these events.

this is true.
what will happen if you have yet to unlock mystery gift, when you get to the continue/new game/options screen, you will get a message saying "you have recieved a wireless message. Mystery gift may now be used." and then you can select mystery gift.

while at work yesterday, there was a group of about 10 people who where there from before we opened until after close just downloading tons of these shaymin. sence the avrage restart time is around 10 minutes and lets say ther where there for 16 hours, each one could have recieved around 96 shaymin each.

that right there is dedication. or insanity.

i would say is insanity

in my case i´ll do it because i have some friends in mexico (where no events have been given since the deoxys event in adv) and they wanted one

i have nothing else to do, so i said what the hell...
 
Can anyone confirm whether or not these Shaymin can transform in the current Japanese version of Platinum? They have Fateful Encounter, which is what (iirc) the game checks for, so they very well might. I will test this later (when I get off work) if no one else knows.
