Very appealing work guys! Counting down the days until I get to download a finished copy of it! =]

Hopefully, the strict damage can be a client side option in this. Because, it causes a lot of disputes when it comes to critical hits.

Imagine...
PokeA scores an OHKO with a crit on your Pokemon.
It would just say 100% damage, where as without strict damage, it would show whatever it actually hit, say 230%, which would mean it would have OHKO'd without the crit.

Will 4 people be able to participate in double battles like you can in the games? :0

That'd be a weird and interesting way to ladder don't you think?

Strict damage should be removed altogether. It serves no real purpose. Interface looks great; kudos to you guys! It all looks absolutely perfect--I wouldn't change a thing. Maybe add a random battle ladder :P

Wrong, strict damage does serve a purpose. In the cartridge game you cannot see past 100%, meaning if I used Fire Blast on my Heatran to hit your Celebi you won't see the 120% or so damage it would cause. If I was running a Choice Specs Heatran, then the damage would be A LOT greater than if I was running Scarf or something else. So. If we remove strict damage clause then you gain information about your opponents items, when you would simply never be able to tell in the cartridge.

Thanks a lot. Can't wait for doubles. As for the four people in doubles, it would be cool but hopefully not added to ladder. The rankings would be a lot less accurate then.

The "hax system" used in Shoddy is the one used in the game its self. We're playing Pokemon, not something that vaguely resembles Pokemon, but has been edited to suit individual tastes.

3 crits in a row is just luck. It's going to happen on average, once every 4096 times you use three attacks.

are you sure the hax system is the same as in in-game? Very often, successive 100% accurate moves miss in the game. I think Nintendo is deliberate on this matter. Should shoddy implement this 'missing streak' as well?

ps, i don't have any particular opinion on this matter.

Looks great but I have always found platinum sprites to be better than D/P, maybe adding platinum sprites over the old sprites would be something to consider?
Maybe thinking a long the lines of Aesthetically pleasing, they could implement a feature that would allow you to switch between every generation of sprite. (Who doesn't want Stoner-Dos or retarded fetus mew?)

I have no idea how hard this would be, but maybe have an option in "Team Builder" where you can choose through the different sprites next to the Sprite Picture?

In the Battle Tower in-game, Brightpowder is a common held item for the opponents' Pokemon. That is what is causing the misses.

Oh dear God no, I don't want SB2 to turn into freakin' Net Battle where you can choose the sprites from which generation. I hate battling RBY on Netbattle when my opponent is using 4th gen sprites and I'm using 1st gen sprites, it looks totally stupid.

But of course SB2 will not have older generation battling, but the point is, it'd still look stupid, plus only 386 Pokemon total can use older sprites, and the list goes down for those who weren't in the previous generations.

I would agree with if there was a clicking option in the team builder where as you can click on the Pokemons sprite you choose at and change it from it's D/P sprite to it's Platinum sprite. Also it would be pretty hard to cram all those older generation sprites into the new SB, and Colin and Bearzly probably wont have the time for it, but I don't speak for them so I can't say what they're going to do/not going to do. But clicking from D/P to Platinum sprites in team builder would be awesome, but anything more than that with previous game sprites, then it'd just ruin SB2 IMO.

Also, nice job to both Colin and Bearzly for this awesome program. Lol Reading what you guys said in the battle windows makes it seem like you guys are brothers (unless you are). If you're not brothers, then you two most have known each other for a long time because the way you guys chat to each other is in a brotherly way. Oh and keep up the good work guys, can't wait to download and test this out when it comes out.

I agree with all of this.
Although it'd be nice if, as well as Platinum Sprites , you could have the second frame sprites of the pokemon. If they got the Platinum ones going, I can't imagine that'd be too hard. I'm no expert on programming though.

Hey my first post ever!

Now that that's out of the way, i just wanted to say the 2v2 battle simulator looks amazing, the whole reason i joined smogon was to get into competitive doubles.

I have no idea if this has been suggested or not, but could a separate ladder be created for VGC rules? (or what ever the Nintendo standard dictates for that year). Not that VGC should have a priority for right now, but it would be very nice to see in the future.

Thanks for putting this together guys it looks very professional.
