Depends if you can RNG the TV encounter in Gen IV. I wouldn't know if you can tho. : /

...uh... Shiny Charm was added in Gen V with Black and White 2.

And it's obvious asking to RNG it.

What has Gen V have to do with this?
Joseybird asked if it was possible to get a 5IV, shiny caught Rotom. Albus said only in Gen IV, but it's theoretically possible in Gen VI. Practically unlikely, though.
Unless Rotom is shiny-locked in X/Y, but I don't think it is?

I wasn't sure who to quote, so nevermind. The most annoying part of the Rotoms is that they are method 1 and thus only one spread is available per save file. Naturally, if you only care about getting Rotoms, it's best to RNG them in DP because you need the full Sinnoh Dex in Platinum.

I'm going to RNG a Relaxed Groudon (for the Primal Support set) as part of clearing out my SoulSilver cart. There are no perfect Relaxed spreads in 4th gen, so which one would be better for it - 31/31/31/31/31/26 or 31/31/30/31/31/31? Not sure if Speed is really an issue at all, or if it might be nice to have the 31 IV in order to Speed-tie with other Relaxed Primal Groudon.

No point on speed really. You are losing a point on Defense hoping your opponent Groudon is not Impish or Adamant (both very common in Ubers). Even if they were Relaxed, you are gambling a 50/50

In theory, yes, but unless you want to lose your sanity to both SR for it to appear in the trash cans, to SR for Shininess even with the Shiny Charm AND end up with a Shiny Rotom with crap IVs (which will happen), its not worth it when you have the better, far more reliable alternative of RNGing with flawless IVs it in DPPt that takes only a single fraction of the time you would use for SRing it.

Actually you're wrong pal, its at the opposite, you can only catch Rotom at the post-game in DP, while you can catch it in Platinum as early as after defeating Gardenia to have access to the Chateau; therefore RNGing it in Plat is the superior option.

Oops, you're completely right. Yes, Platinum is better. The reason I was mixing up things is that in general, if you RNG DPPt files for stuff like PokeRadar, you'll want DPP because of some exclusives like Porygon, which I've been doing a lot lately. XD

LF: Someone to teach my Diglett stealth rock & sucker punch and then PP max them(only these 2 moves). Also give it 3 RARE CANDIES to go from lvl 2 to lvl 5. Only rare candies, I don't want it to have unnecessary EXP. Anyways, here are the details of the Diglett: Jolly 31/31/31/31/31/31 bred by me. EV trained for Little Cup: 36HP/236ATK/236SPE (actually is 238 due to gen 6 mechanics, the 2 extra evs). Level 2. You get to keep a clone if you help me! LC is fun! Also free-reddis if you want to trade it.
PS: Symmetrical things make me feel good, (the obligatory rare candies).
