Articuno Prevo

This is technically a fusion, but someone did a Suicune Prevo that was actually Suicune+Vulpix, so I think I'm OK. This is actually Articuno+Pidgey, and I like how it turned out. Is there anything I should fix before I submit this?
 
The feathers on the head need to be moved up 1 pixel and back a few. They're too far forward.

And no C+C for the little Groudon anyone? Guess it's not very good.

Its near leg looks like it's pointing straight to the right while the rest of the body is slightly turned, making it seem as though it's off balance. Maybe add another visible toe on that foot? Or if that's too much editing for the contest to allow shifting some of the shading so the top of the foot is lighter could help.

I like it though. The arms and tail look really good, and the raptor like design fits as a baby Groudon in my opinion.
 
Here's a video of the sprite being made in fast motion, for anyone that's interested in the process.

Thanks for the critique Vader, I did try to fit on extra toe in the foot but for some reason I couldn't get it to work, so I just left it. I'll try and edit it again when I get back from work.

Ok, made an edit. Added in that third claw, and also fixed up some outlining issues, shading issues. I can't decide between the ultra saturated red from the Groudon sprite and my own red, what do you guys think?

The only part from Suicune I used was the hair (and of course the colours); the rest is scratched ;)

I do like your Articuno but atm, like some of the others, it looks too much like just a miniature version of the actual Pokemon.

I reckon with some edits though it could be great, I love Articuno and it'd be a shame for that good sprite to go to waste.

I think in the new version the far right (to us) crest is too prominent when it meets the head compared to the other crests. I'll fix that when I get home.

@MrBlack-what exactly would you say would make it look less mini and more prevo-ish? Smaller wings and tail, or did you mean something else?
 
To the left of the far left 'head-feather-thing' there's a white dot.

I still feel the wings and tail are a little to big but otherwise it's good :D
 
You need to shrink down the wings and the tail and the head feathers. Basically you've taken body parts that are sized for a large bird and stuck them onto a tiny bird. It's kind of like taking an adult's arms legs and hair and sticking them on a baby's torso. It ends up looking freaky. Shrinking those parts shouldn't even require scratching if your good at copy/paste spriting.

My first spriting ever. Tenctacruel is my favorite pokemon.

I like sprite art a lot so I figured I would try to get into it. Recoloring is the way to start I thought so here it is. If you guys can give me any suggestions or anything like that please do. It isn't much but cut me some slack.

Edit: The Bottom of one of the tentacles got cut off when I uploaded it but it shouldn't matter.
 
I have received approval by the great Canti! *Bows down and worships* Arbok isn't going as well though D:

Anyway I'm mainly here to say that I won't be here for about a week in two days time (I'm going somewhere without internet connection) so I've downloaded and resized an insane amount of artwork to pixel over, not necessarily reserving but it would just give me something to do. This means that I would advise against anyone else picking the same pokemon, but I can drop quite a few if people want.

I'll try and get a list tomorrow, thanks guys.
 
So...today I tried doing a sprite-over of Quilava with Paint.NET. This is my first sprite-over, as well as my first real time using Paint.NET. Here's the product and the outline:

So, here's my spriting baseart for CAP 9. I thought it would be better to show it off amongst Smeargle's Studio to get a wider range of viewers. So, yeah, tell me what you guys think, and as it says in the post, C+C is highly smiled upon.

Oh, and I reserve this pose for me. No-one else may use the pose that I came up with at PE today. Get creative if you want a good pose, darnit. ;)

Basic idea came from my knowledge of how whales emerge from the water. Normally they show lots of belly-blubber, so... I came up with this. Btw, the rocky-bush-like area at the bottom is going to resemble Diglett dirt on the actual sprite.

So, yeah, C+C on the drawing, since (if you have read my scratching tutorial, you already know this) I use actual Hard Copy art as a base for the sprite after scanning it. So, speak between now and Sunday, or forever hold your tongue. Just kidding, comment all you like. :)

^And remember, C+C is highly smiled upon.^
