Cool, a server where I won't get constantly kicked for saying Ness is not the best brawl character...
You've seriously never actually played a good Ness, have you?
Eh, I'll still prefer Official Server, or my own. To be honest, I think Colin's rules changes that he's made are better than some of what I'd think Smogon would do. Plus I'm worried that a bunch of mods will decide a controversial rule, then block discussion on it :(
do you measure a server's success by how many members it has, or by the ease with which it will allow the community tied to it to implement, enforce and change the policies its several staff members decide upon for the good of the communityI guess I don't have that much faith, so I'll just have to see what happens with Smogon server. I don't expect it to be terribly successful though.
how do you know how "free" competitor is when details of its development haven't been made public for about a yearBy the way, I seriously doubt that if Competitor were released today that anyone would play it. Shoddy is free as in freedom, Competitor isn't. Shoddy's cross-platform, Competitor isn't... and on. and on.
Awesome! I guess that I'll start using Shoddy again.
You mean despite that Competitor is open source too and Competitor is cross-platform too? And on. and on. The thing is, you don't know anything about Competitor. Why would you be qualified to say _anything_ about Competitor?By the way, I seriously doubt that if Competitor were released today that anyone would play it. Shoddy is free as in freedom, Competitor isn't. Shoddy's cross-platform, Competitor isn't... and on. and on.
