And with that, Slowpoke92i wins this week with Facade Bewear! Congratulations!

Week 8: Galarian Weezing
:ss/weezing-galar:
Weezing-Galar @ Black Sludge
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 212 Def / 44 Spe
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Strange Steam
- Will-O-Wisp
- Defog
- Toxic / Flamethrower

Though it has been somewhat usurped of its throne by Sylveon, Galarian Weezing remains a potent Fairy-type in the tier, capable of checking Pokemon Sylveon struggles with like Sirfetch'd, Pangoro and Incineroar much more easily. Luring it makes it much easier for Fighting-types on the team to do their job. How will you do it?

Deadline is Sunday 17th May

Lucario @ Life Orb
Ability: Inner Focus
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpA / 252 Spe
Naive / Naughty Nature
- Close Combat
- Flash Cannon
- Agility
- Blaze Kick / Facade
Mixed Agility, DPP where you at?
This set can ohko wheezing, who may switch in and would threaten out physical variants with flamethrower doing around 70% and surviving an iron head / meteor mash that would otherwise come out. Agility lucario is a sleeper hit. blaze kick for Escavalier / celibi. Facade for burns, Ice punch / other coverage move for whatever you want.
0 SpA Life Orb Lucario Flash Cannon vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Weezing-Galar: 338-400 (101.1 - 119.7%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Flygon @ Choice Specs
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- U-turn
- Fire Blast
- Draco Meteor
- Earth Power
nm to say here weezing counters flygon since flygon can usually only hit it with uturn but thanks to specs and the poor special bulk of weezing fire blast is a 2HKO :
252 SpA Choice Specs Flygon Fire Blast vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Weezing-Galar: 174-205 (52 - 61.3%) -- 97.7% chance to 2HKO after Black Sludge recovery
also lure some cool other threats like zong / escav / goli

dragon dance flygon w iron tail

:flygon:
Flygon @ Lum Berry
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Outrage
- Earthquake
- Iron Tail

with iron tail flygon has a good chance to lure galarian weezing in as when a teammate has to switch out and goes into glaraian weezing
flygon can set-up a dragon dance and get tp +1 and does insane amount of damage to galarian weezing and flygon survives a strange steam
so it can dish out another iron tail. also this flygon set has lum berry to prevent status mainly a burn from will-o-wisp because that would
severly weaken flygons attack-stat even when it already has a dragon dance up. furthermore this flygon set can still act like a good
lategame-cleaner after a set-up due to dragon dance and with its good dual-stab options in earthquake and outrage.

calcs:
+1 252 Atk Flygon Iron Tail vs. 252 HP / 212+ Def Weezing-Galar: 180-212 (53.8 - 63.4%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock and Black Sludge recovery
252 Atk Flygon Iron Tail vs. 252 HP / 212+ Def Weezing-Galar: 120-142 (35.9 - 42.5%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Stealth Rock and Black Sludge recovery
0 SpA Weezing-Galar Strange Steam vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Flygon: 204-242 (67.7 - 80.3%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

Reserving Steel Wing-Sirfetch'd

:ss/Sirfetch
Sirfetch'd @ Choice Band
Ability: Scrappy
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Close Combat
- Knock Off
- First Impression
- Steel Wing

I remember back in beta (iirc) when this was the go-to against Weezing-Galar. Nowdays Brave Bird is the fourth move of choice, I guess to hit stuff like Golisopod or Araquanid.
Anyway, I have to admit that Brave Bird has a chance to 2HKO when Stealth Rock are up, but Steel Wing has way more style! After Stealth Rock damage it 2HKOs everytime (Steel Wing can miss but Im assuming you all are players that hax the sh*t out of your opponent so that doesn't matter).

252+ Atk Choice Band Sirfetch'd Steel Wing vs. 252 HP / 212+ Def Weezing-Galar: 170-200 (50.8 - 59.8%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock and Black Sludge recovery

Rhyperior @ Leftovers
Ability: Solid Rock
EVs: 252 HP / 16 Atk / 240 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Stone Edge
- Earthquake
- Heavy Slam

Sylveon is fairly oppressive in the meta atm so Heavy Slam is solid for beating it. It works just as effectively on Weezing when correctly positioned.

16+ Atk Rhyperior Heavy Slam (120 BP) vs. 252 HP / 212+ Def Weezing-Galar: 170-200 (50.8 - 59.8%) -- 89.1% chance to 2HKO after Black Sludge recovery

reserving overheat inci

Incineroar (M) @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 HP / 20 Atk / 28 SpA / 208 SpD
Sassy Nature
- Parting Shot
- Will-O-Wisp
- Knock Off
- Overheat

The idea is very simple, knock off the weezing, then use overheat. You can even burn him before using overheat

28 SpA Incineroar Overheat vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Weezing-Galar: 160-190 (47.9 - 56.8%) -- 39.8% chance to 2HKO after Black Sludge recovery

Pangoro @ Choice Band
Ability: Scrappy
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spe / 4 SpD
- Close Combat
- Knock Off
- Iron Head
- Gunk Shot / Bullet Punch / Parting Shot

I know that somebody's already reserved Mold Breaker Earthquake, but I think Scrappy Iron Head is different enough to be allowed (if it's not, tell me and I'll delete this ^^;;). Anyway, the problem with MB EQ is that any good player is going to be wary of EQ as soon as MB announces itself - and on the contrary, revealing Scrappy will make your opponent feel safer than a kitten in a nice warm box. Until this happens:

252+ Atk Choice Band Pangoro Iron Head vs. 252 HP / 212+ Def Weezing-Galar: 182-216 (54.4 - 64.6%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Black Sludge recovery

Long story short, I started running Iron Head because fuck Gunk Shot's accuracy and it turned out to be legit, heh.

Machamp @ Choice Band
Ability: Guts
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Close Combat
- Knock Off
- Facade
- Heavy Slam

For this occasion I have chosen Champ, which is not bad since he has good steel coverage for GWeezing for example. Facade with burn is not a bad option either but I was looking for something more effective. Does the same damage as with the Flame Orb, but for changing. This can also be applied to other fairies in the tier.
252+ Atk Choice Band Machamp Heavy Slam (120 BP) vs. 252 HP / 212+ Def Weezing-Galar: 282-334 (84.4 - 100%) -- 6.3% chance to OHKO
I'm a tad late but I'll be extending the deadline an extra 24 hours so that you two can change your submissions if you wish; I have to veto these because they're standard moves on these pokemon (machamp doesn't run cb sure, but it's just wholly inferior to flame orb, so)
If you guys wanna change it up, feel free to edit your posts! Otherwise, voting will go up tomorrow C:

Whimsicott @ Choice Specs
Ability: Prankster
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Moonblast
- Energy Ball
- Psychic
- Switcheroo / U-turn

Whimsicott is a great lure to G-Weezing. Typically it's only attacking move is Moonblast/U-turn which leaves Whimsi not much chance to really combat G-weez. With specs psychic however that's another story.

252 SpA Choice Specs Whimsicott Psychic vs. 212 HP / 0 SpD Weezing-Galar: 278-328 (85.8 - 101.2%) -- 12.5% chance to OHKO

specs whimsicott is good everyone
