1, Make an in game report option
2, Make it so that people can only PM you if you have an option unchecked or on a "friends list"

no need for them to sound like demands, brohan~

It would be great if the 'watch a battle' was listed by ranking. It doesn't necessarily need to have the ranking of the users but the users who have higher ranking should be shifted to the top so it's easier for users to watch experience battlers.

suggestion: formes should be default excluded from the nickname box. For example, I pick Landorus-Therian for my team; the nickname should still only say "Landorus." same with rotom-wash, gourgeist-small, deoxys-attack, etc. it's a damn shame ho-oh exists or this would be probably be really easy to implement lol

Yeah someone else complained to me about this a while ago. I'll bring it up and see if it can get fixed.

Supporting Pwnemon's suggestion; also, I've noticed that if you try to remove the forme name on your own it tacks it back on in battle.

I'm sure that there are many people who enjoy watching random replays that are entertaining. It would be cool to be able to know, in advance, how interesting a replay is for potential viewers. For that purpose, a small description could be added to the replay by the uploader, for example. The ladder rating of each player could also be displayed beforehand. A view count, a rating feature, and a comment section would be cool too, although these require a more significant effort to implement.

Is it possible to place the leaderboard of XY Doubles below XY Singles? It's more intuitive to have the most current gen leaderboards together, rather than having XY Dubs leaderboard below BW Singles ;/

Also it would be nice to sort "Watch Battle" by player's ranking, so people don't need to click a battle between nubs. Possibly a filter button that eliminates any games of players with <1850 rating? Or have the player's rating display in the Watch Battle list?

I mentioned this ages ago, but I believe Teambuilder can be more user-friendly if the teams are displayed by tiers. Right now it's just a large list of teams you made in chronological order. If there's a way to filter out / group the teams by tier, it would be easier to navigate. Maybe allow users to make their own folders to organize their teams in whatever manner they desire?

for the sort teams by tiers part, ctrl + f works wonders. I would love for watch battle to be sorted by rankings but don't know how feasible that is. what you -can- do is check out the top of each ladder and watch replays of those players. I know it's not quite the same, but it's something for the meantime.

Thank goodness for Ctrl + F, but it's also more of an aesthetics factor, too - it's kinda cluttered to see all of your teams in one big list. I'd much rather have them divided them into tiers or better yet allow users to sort teams on their own with folders (ie old teams, test teams, tournament theme teams). Even just giving users the ability to rearrange their list would be cool, too.

Thanks for the tip on spectating matches - not all good players save their replays, but it has never occurred to me to use the replay search function ;x

Another suggestion - adding notes to teams. With this function I can note the reasons for my EVs, pokemon choices, threats to look out for, and possible alternatives that I have come up for the team (that I may or may not have had the chance to test). When revisiting old teams it would be nice to view these notes to help remind me of the thought process in coming up with the team, since some teams are less straight-forward. I am unsure how feasible this would be, especially in regards to importing teams.

This server is requesting an invalid login key. This probably means that either the server is set up incorrectly, or you are banned.

That quote comes up whenever the server is down OR the user is banned. A common post in Discipline
Appeals is one which asks if the user is banned and/or how to fix the problem, especially since the latest DoS and DDoS attacks. These posts are unnecessary and wastes both the time of the concerned user and the replying moderator (assuming the user isn't banned). Inclusions of the following will save time that could be spent doing better things.

One is a way to check the account's status along with a reason and estimated time of un-ban in one (or more) of the following:
  • [Pokemon Showdown < Forum < User Control Panel < Profile]
  • [Pokemon Showdown < Forum < User Control Panel < Private Messages]
Another is to include:
  • Announcements to be more easily shown on the front page if the server is or will be down and an approximation to when it will be back up
  • links or redirection to the account's status in the dialog box (refer to above)
These fixes will remove the inconvenience to players as well as moderators. The replies to most of the forum
posts in Discipline Appeals don't seem to have a definite explanation as to whether the user is even banned. This will clear up confusion on when the server is down or the user is banned.

Change my tier automatically when I switch to a team from that tier. When I select an Ubers XY team I shouldn't be in OU nor should I need to change it manually. The only time I should need to change my tier manually is if I wanted to use a lower-tier team in a higher tier, i.e OUs in Ubers.

I've noticed that the popularity of a Balanced Hackmons Little Cup has been increasing in the Other Metas chat room similar to OU Monotype once was. This metagame provides a unique aspect to BH as standard LC does to OU. For future reference, credit should go to TheBurgerKing99 rather than myself. Credit where credit is due.

Another suggestion to drop, by yours truly, is the addition of TechnicalMons, which would follow a modified OU banlist and allow any Pokémon to learn any move that has ever been a TM or HM, eventually with certain bans such as perhaps Softboiled in Generation I. Another similar version could be Pokémon being able to learn moves if they could have ever known it in another generation. For example: if something could learn Metronome via TM in Generation I, it can have it in this metagame. I feel that each of these could be an important metagame in decreasing order. Thank you.

Metagame suggestions don't go in the PS forum, they go in my Smogon inbox and I as OM leader will ignore them until they are in my inbox.

While I have been playing Pokemon Online for a while now, I have realized that there are no real chances to exhibit teamwork/communication, which is important if you are entering the competitive battling scene. Multi Battles, or Tag-Team battles, would allow 2 players to team up against another team and battle, while constantly communicating through Pokemon Online's Personal Messaging system. This could influence teamwork and communication, and could even be used to mentor those who are new to competitive battling. While I am still researching ways that this could be implemented, I just wanted to put this idea out to the public, just in case anybody currently has ideas.

SORRY if this has already been suggested, I just really like the idea of teaming up with people

Pocket The teambuilder still needs a lot of work and that you mention isn't as easy as it sounds, but I'll try to comment with Zarel about moving XY Doubles upwards in the ladder list. It makes as much sense as grouping singles and doubles together separatedly.

it would be nice if there was a way to get the url of a battle / navigate to a battle using a url through the downloadable app!

Also, real quick question, Is there an app for Showdown? the comment above by Darkie made me curious. if not, then could there be one?

It'd be awesome if someone would respond to the questions all over the web (here, irc, other forums) as to why it's near-impossible for anyone to log in/play once they have, instead of letting us all blunder around in the dark telling pkmnmaster### that yeah we can't access it either and no we don't know when it will be fixed. (and in an obvious place because if anyone's said anything it isn't anywhere visible)

Good riddance. Griefing tactics like that should have no place in this metagame.

It might be more efficient to ban Block (or any other trapping move)+Recycle+Leppa Berry altogether, as most of these new "Fun" sets rely on that same combination. As far as I know, this is not used in any competitive moveset, and the only reason you'd probably want to recycle infinite PP-restoring berries is for infinite stalling nonsense.

Agreed. Unlike Heal Pulse, Pain Split is not a reliable recovery move.

What's next, banning legitimate Leppa Berry Exeggutor because two of them could face each other by accident?

that is significantly more situational than Pain Split; you're kinda putting words in his mouth.

however, after testing that Mew set against a Ferro with no moves, i think it's safe to say Pain Split will indeed eventually not be enough to keep the opponent alive (my game ended after twenty or so turns). if the opponent has high base HP Pain Split won't heal them enough and they will get taken out by recoil very quickly, and if they have low base HP Pain Split will cut down Mew's health hugely and it won't be able to heal the opponent for enough. this is just switching between Roost and Pain Split too; i'm sure the situation would be even worse when you end up having to weave Recycle into the rotation.

e: fling and Pain Split have now been banned in combination with Leppa Berry and Recycle.

So.... I kinda might have came up with a possible ban-less solution to allowing Funbro and other silly shenanigans, but discouraging endless battles:
In Singles, if one of player X's pokemon somehow manages to use Struggle for 16 turns or player X manages to use the move Struggle 24 times total, then player X would be given a win.
Consider the fact that Struggle does 25% of your Max HP in recoil. In order to pull this off, you need:
  • 25% HP recovery per turn. This is equivalent to Aqua Ring + Ingrain + Poison Heal, or Leftovers + Rain Dish + Leech Seed (against something with more max HP than you), all of which are incredibly situational.
  • If you spend 16 turns struggling, your opponent probably has every opportunity to bring in something to set up and sabotage you horribly. Either that, or they're using Funbro or something similar.
  • Using Struggle 24 times is a total of 600% in recoil damage... essentially, your entire party would have fainted if that damage were distributed evenly amongst them. Against an opponent actively trying to win, this would never happen.
I only came up with this because I hate seeing things get outright banned without consideration to the goal of including as much variety as possible in the metagame. It requires some tweaking of Struggle, but I think it'd work as a nice solution.
